I have both systems but prefer the PS5. I've only been using the Series X to play upscaled 360 games. I bought Starfield but couldn't get into it.
Which is to say, I'll get the games I want on the PS5. I only bought the series X to play Starfield and OD (whenever it comes out). But if that's going multi-platform, I don't really need the Series X over my (still functional) 360.
I own both also and to be honest it's pointless owning both now if that's the case . I've always bought systems for exclusives for all of 42 year's on Earth, and nintendo seem to be the only ones who want this now. I'll be getting rid of my xbox series x or PlayStation 5 then and keeping my switch. Sorry but exclusives are my reasons I buy a system. It's like buying into a clothing brand, you like Adidas you buy Adidas. Imagine ordering an Adidas shirt and getting a Nike shirt with Adidas on the label too . We like a brand because we like what it offers us ,same with consoles for me personally. It's not being a fanboy it's about what we buy offers something unique.
I own all 3 gaming consoles. I prefer PS5. I would buy more xbox games on playstation 5, no doubt. A big reason is that I am a trophy hunter and all my progress is on my playstation account.
Own both. I won't buy xbox games for ps5 as I'm on gamepass for a reason.
@@random_gamer_guy82 I have no doubts that Sony is still going to have exclusive titles. It just seems like they've been slow to trickle out due to the continued support of the PS4. Right now, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Final Fantasy XVI, Spider-Man 2 and Stellar Blade are exclusive to the PS5. There's also the upcoming Silent Hill 2 Remake. Some of those will eventually release on PC but it's doubtful any of them will ever be on the Xbox or Switch.
Granted, most of (if not all) may not be to your tastes, it shows that Sony still values exclusives. I also think we'll see a lot more as they are starting to phase out first party support for the PS4 so we'll see some real solid exclusives for the PS5 in the not too distant future.
I'm not suggesting you should keep the PS5 if it's not doing anything for you. And, for all I know, the majority of exclusives will be micro-transaction riddled live-service games. I'm just pointing out that Sony hasn't given up on exclusives yet.
You can play steam games on Xbox through emulators that can be searched on the web giving us access to anything Sony decides to put on steam

On PS 5 you have to purchase every game at 70 dollars but I get day and date for 18 dollars a month.
And not every game is coming to PS.

This doesn't devalue the Xbox hardware at all; The majority of Xbox customers who buy their hardware over the PlayStation, obviously do not care about Sony exclusives (or at least, the majority of exclusives).
Personally, my console gaming is limited to Xbox and Switch, simply because PS doesnt have many games Im interested in; I prefer the Xbox controller; and the back catalog of Xbox games available is more compelling. I game on PC and Switch for all my other gaming wants/needs (including some Xbox games!); the is no lesser value in the Xbox hardware, just because they are moving to a multi-plat approach.
It’s a fact it devalues the hardware. Exclusive experiences sell hardware and it’s clearly evident when the Xbox series S/X are selling worse than the XBOX One in the same time frame. It’s not about your preferences it’s about the factual numbers we have available to us.
@@NIXNE no dude. It's a FACT the PS5 is selling worse than the PS4 and Sony are releasing 1st party on PC now (and now Switch too!), but that isn't an indication that the PS5 is being devalued. The idea that exclusives are what sell hardware is an antiquated one, and is not likely to persist as the next console generation rolls around. As I have stated, there are many reasons to still own an Xbox over the PS5; controllers, features, back catalogues, services, features, existing libraries, etc... If exclusives sell hardware, then how come there are still roughly about 80 million active Xbox users on console? There are plenty of people who do not care about exclusives (id argue that the majority of average consumers really don't care), who go with brand recognition, or what their friends/family play on, or where there digital libraries are, or has the better support for accessibility and control (which Xbox has in spades, and no other console manufacturers have even remotely successfully recreated).
The idea that Xbox is being devalued because they are publishing games on other consoles, is completely ludicrous.

I did refute each one of your points, and I provided clear reasoning as to how it does not devalue the platform. Sales data is not representative of it being "devalued," as console sales across the board have dropped, and it's very apparent when you look at how much PS5 is selling compared to its predecessor as well. You have to remember, Xbox is not just a console, it's an ecosystem and Microsoft are pivoting from being a hardware manufacturer in the gaming space, to being a software services publisher in the gaming space (more in line with what Microsoft does as a whole). As I've stated, people that have an attachment to the platform, the hardware, the features and accessories, and their libraries, have no reason to switch over to PlayStation. And if you actually look at the leaked FTC documents, and Microsoft's strategy as a whole, it is pretty clear that they are attempting to integrate their PC endeavors with their consoles (similar to how Valve is positioning the Steam Deck); it's clear that Microsoft does not see Sony and Nintendo as competitors anymore, but rather they see Valve, Nvidia, and other gaming service platforms, as their primary competition in the space (which should be pretty apparent, because Xbox is always sold the least of every console generation)

Well said! I got my ps5 in February and literally weeks later they announced no big AAA Exclusives. Facepalm pointless. Sony is more interested in pc and PlayStation 5 is just kinda hanging around.

Whenever a company says MULTIPLAT you can't just assume PlayStation is in the mix ..I say this because it's been proven time after time and so far Xbox has yet to release any bigger budget or newer games on PlayStation. I honestly believe Xbox wont be putting much on PlayStation unless PlayStation stops the weird behind the back shady deals like with black myth. They've already proven its truly because Sony wanted a last minute timed exclusive deal...like always... They can't make games so they just rent them for awhile...that's why I switched to Xbox sx this gen and although we do have a PS5 it is in no way better than the sx.. especially in the games department. But anyway, that's me not everyone feels the same .which is fine...not everyone is a weird one brand fan

I own a Series X but I'm not an Xbox fanboy. My Series X is collecting dust right now and I'm leaning towards selling it. I'm waiting to hear if OD will be exclusive, a timed exclusive or day and date multi-platform. If it's day and date, goodbye Xbox.

I don't need the money right now so I'm giving it a little more time but I'm fairly certain I'll sell it before the end of summer. I've mostly thinking of using it for 360 games but my 360 still works and the upscaling isn't a good enough reason to hang on to it.
And when I say collecting dust, I mean it's still sealed in the box and in my closet. I got it for Starfield and then found out that it wasn't a great game. OD is literally the only reason I've held on to it.

Sgf was better cause it had release dates, Xbox showed games with no release dates and more support for PC yhen Xbox, so the ecosystem is what they are pushing, PS just needs to stop porting so not like Xbox as you can see in real time what works, Nintendo with exclusives sells like crazy, Xbox without exclusives sells like shit, so PS needs to smarten up especially since they a hardware company and PS console gamers will not stand for this non exclusive shift

@@williamjamesperkins5483 that's not an excuse 40+ months after release. All you had to do was save $20 a month over the last 40+ months and you could get one today.....plus a game or two. If you cannot afford $20 a month to put away, gaming probably shouldn't be your concern and you probably shouldn't be spending any money on it to be honest. May need to focus on more important things in life until you're financially more stable. This isn't me gate keeping or trying to be mean. Just at this point in the console generation I don't think that excuse flies.
@TheSteelers4190 Yes, it's easy to save $20 a month. Until your bills suddenly go up or your kid breaks an arm at Summer camp or your hours get cut back at work. Things happen that are unexpected all the time and even people with decent paying full-time jobs can suddenly find themselves struggling.
I prefer my PS5 way more than the Xbox but many people might find buying the Series S and getting GamePass to be a much more worthwhile investment.
As much as I've been loving the new Final Fantasy games and Stellar Blade, Sony hasn't given too many reasons to even upgrade to the PS5 over the PS4.

Gears of War E-Day would be the perfect introduction to the series on Playstation, and Nintendo's next console if they can, then they could release the rumored remasters of the first 3 + Judgment.
I had an Xbox 360 because of the Mistwalker deal and then it ended up having some of my favorite games. Spectral Force 3, MagnaCarta 2, and Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon remain exclusive.
That Perfect Dark would be Perfect for my ps5 game library.
