    Getting one of those Dynaplug's looks like it good to have in case of minor holes. Thanks Phil for the link in description.

    • @SkillsWithPhil
      @SkillsWithPhil  7 лет назад +3

      They are good for big holes too that stans can't seal. My heartbreak ridge video has me helping out a friend that had a decent side puncture!.

    • @jsterrycomics
      @jsterrycomics 7 лет назад +1

      Cool going to rewatch that video to see repair. Didn't know that it could secure big holes too.

      Well not rips or anything, but decent sized punctures it has you covered

      I have a tire patch kit in my pack but like to have other tools for unexpected things that happen on trails. What crazy is most stuff I have used wasn't even for my own bike but helping someone else on the trail with a tire, or a zip tie, first aid kit, etc.

    Great stuff Phil and Hailey! I've been on the Millstone trail crew for many years now and there are a bunch of sections that I rarely clean. Would love to show you more of the network, some slightly less techy and faster stuff. Jeb

    Worlds collide for me in this video. I'm a stone mason and I've been ordering my carbide tipped chisels and hammers from a company in Barre VT for years now, and the best part is I'm heading to Vermont for the very first time this weekend for the Irreverent road ride. After I recover from that I'll be looking this place up. Thanks! Timing on this video couldn't be any better!

    The porcupines live in the rock piles there! They hang out in the trees in the spring and munch on bark and buds, very sloth like. Also you can find ice in those rock piles in mid august sometimes. It's totally natural AC in the summer. Good to see you guys made it to my local trail system! I live 5 minutes away. I think I was at perry hill while you were here unfortunately. Did you guys get to ride roller coaster all the way down? It's the closest thing to a flow trail there with lots of little bridge drops and fast, really fun! There are so many miles of trails to explore there, hope you get to make it back sometime. Thanks for all the NES videos you and Alex have been putting out! I really enjoy watching you guys shred all of my local trails.

    Place looks cool as shit. I like how you guys talked about your weaknesses even at the level you ride at. Being newer to the sport, it definitely helps my confidence. I'm always trying to sharpen my basic skills every time I ride. I live in New England, so this series is perfect!

  • @Chubacca838
    @Chubacca838 5 лет назад

    Porcupines can be massive! I came across one when I was preparing a trail for the opening of our season, it could be mistaken for a cub from the distance I was. Needless to say I approached it very careful and sure was glad to find out it was only a porcupine!

    That trail was awesome. Exactly the kind of riding I love. There are some places here in Connecticut with a bunch of rocky, technical spots like that. Used to be some wooden features too but not it’s like a rotted stunt graveyard. I might have to take a ride to Vermont!

    I think you might have tightened your shock mounting bolts a little too much. The sound can be caused by the internals of the shock being forced to slide sideways instead of up and down. What you hear are the tiny machining marks left by the lathe that are rubbing against the bushings and seals with more force than normal.

    I want to start by saying that Phil, you by far have the very best balancing skills I have ever seen in a mountain biker. I've been practicing myself, but you are at the top of the heap in that.
    0:45 - I just recently purchased one of those, myself. Fortunately (knock on wood) I have not had to use it yet.
    2:25 - I am so jealous that you get to ride in this kind of scenery.
    13:59 - "You're a maniac!"
    15:30 - If you had told me a week ago that you can get ticks just by riding by tall grass, I would never have believed you. Then last Saturday I rode by tall grass and got a tick. How? I was going fast, too!
    16:16 - once again, jealous of the riding scenery.
    17:35 - and yet again. What a view!
    18:13 - I love encounters with nature! Well, most of them anyway. I prefer not to encounter bears or mountain lions (they have claws that can hurt). Or skunks (they have the stink). But I have seen foxes, coatimundis, deer, and snakes on my rides.
    18:57 - I see you, Hailey! :-)
    Lastly, I like what you're doing with you scene transitions. Similar to what Alex is doing. hand wipes and putting your hand over the lens and stuff like that. I think it's fun.
    Great video! I really like watching these collaboration road trips. You three seem to be getting along very well and that is always fun to watch. Keep up the good work!
