Artour rakhimov said that the reason the wim hof method works is that when you take the 30 deep breaths round after round you increase the oxygen saturation in the blood and when you hold your breath the Co2 level rises to a point where all that oxygen is being binded to the cells therefore increasing your BOLT score/ Control pause by 15seconds
Man i want to tell you that the informations shared in these interview were really important for me. I've been breathing wrong for near 25 years because i always suffered from allergic ashtma and, even tho i know there is no cure for that, using these techniques you can really improve a lot your life style. I really don't understand how nobody of the doctors i met didn't know about this.
Great video, I have been meditating for about 7 years now and doing breathing exercises for the past few years. I would like to get my dad into breathing exercises. A few months ago he had a Laryngectomy, meaning he now breathes through a stoma in his neck instead of his nose and mouth. I'm wondering how it would be for those neck breathers to do these kinds of breathing exercises as they can no longer breathe through their nose. Do you have any idea how it would be or have you dealt with anyone before? Any information would be highly appreciated. I know this wouldn't be in high demand but I'm sure it would be highly appreciated by Laryngectomees if you could make a video on this.
So fascinating! I’ve been trying to incorporate more slow soft nasal breathing practices as well as my deep belly breathing practices. I’m not sure however I completely agree in regards to deep belly breathing not being ‘good’ for you (ie Wim hof style method) as it’s really been helping me recover from chronic fatigue syndrome and helped me release trauma from my body. It seems a bit conflicting? However I will take into mind giving myself more recovery time after each round of deep breathing. I think the key is listening to what the body needs. Sometimes fast deep breathing isn’t what my body wants and I’ll do box breathing instead.
Kirsty Anne I have heard Patrick say in other interviews that there is a place for the Wim Hoff method and it is particularly helpful for people with auto immune conditions. I guess this makes you a positive testimonial. So glad for you that you've found relief.
I agree. I do both at different times for different needs. I am in my 14th month of post covid, Long Haul Symptoms. These techniques are always GR8 Pranayama practice of which i am a Practitioner of over 50 years.
What is the proper muscle used for inhalation? That is to say, should I inhale as more of a sniff or is it all diaphragm? Any comments are appreciated.
Hi, I have not found anyone able to answer this: Is the "six breaths per minute" the optimal cadence, or a minimum recommendation such that the fewer breaths the better?
6 breaths a minute is the average cadence for most people for optimal results. The range is 4.5 - 7 breaths i believe. Start at 6 and then play around with the cadence to find your pace.
Thank you! Love your interviews. A question - I have chronic migraine and an autoimmune condition (alopecia). I started Wim Hof breathing daily a year ago. I previously had some parathesia (numbness, tingling, hypersensitive skin) on my lower face, all day. It seems to be getting worse and often on my whole face and torso too. Have you heard of this before? Not sure if the breathwork is making worse or just a coincidence.
When I breathe light I grasp the concept but confused as to how much air I should take in, is it as little as I can without the air hunger becoming too much?
please make one video on OKINAGA BREATHING , WHERE EXTENDED EXHALATION TIME IS 1 MINUTE , BUT WITH THE HELP OF OXYGEN ADVANTAGE PATRICK MACKWAN. PLEASE REPLY, IT WILL HELP TO MILLIONS OF PEOPLE.
What I am missing is that we can have these guided sessions in other languages, for example in German, or at least with subtitles? Because I want to share with people who can't speak English.
I have ashtma post covid. I noticed after I do breathwork it triggers my ashtma.. Its a bit dangerous.. I just want you to display a warning about that 😔😭
Hi Artur, so sorry to hear you had covid, I hope your recovering, you are right, different breathwork has different results, heavy mouth breathing exercises can make the situation worse sometimes, with these sorts of exercises Patrick is talking about, my understanding is these are nasal, slow, deep and light all of which can help if you have asthma, that being said everyone is different and should be careful what they undertake. I wish you well on your path to recovery and thank you so much for raising these points in the comments.
If we say breathing will cure a specific ailment, then it will be ridiculed and maybe even removed, even if it could be true. If you breathe right long enough you may find that many of the physical issues you've had become alleviated almost to the point where they can be "cured".
If you're quietening the breath so that you cannot feel it coming out on your finger in front of your nose, then you are hardly breathing at all , and you will feel a strong air hunger almost immediately, quite a horrible feeling
I agree. The need to take a DEEP, revitalizing breath after the conscious slow, sft breathing is so intense, leaving one feeling desperately breathless. How can that be an improvement??? breathless
Don't believe we should be experiencing air hunger unless we're exercising. We certainly don't wait to drink water til we're desperate for it. Makes no sense
please include more actual scientific studies to back up what you are saying. not anatomic info, not calculations about breathing gases or info from science books. real, actual scientific studies that back up what you are saying. i am not disagreeing with anything Patrick said, just saying all the stuff he tried to back it up with was science like, but it doesn't sound like anyone has actually tested his hypothesis in a real scientific study with a test group and a control group.
What's your favourite breathing exercise?
I liked the 1cm cupped hands, great interview and exercises
1Cm super crazy
It will be cool to ask him what his top 5

Another great video from a master in breath work. Your techniques and tutorials are part of my daily routine. Thanks again for another video.
You're very welcome!

Take A Light Breath
Great interview Mike! He's great!
Thanks so much
Thanks so much
great interview. I learned so much. Science!
Glad you enjoyed it!
thank you so very much!
You're welcome!
This is total 180 from wim Hof?
Very well explained

Hof ? If no improvements - it might be high time to try the right one - that Patric kindly 🙏 offers for free here ?
Migraine and tingling/numbness can be signs of insulin resistance. Would be worth checking your blood sugar levels and insulin.
I understand that highly stressed individuals may need this but breathing deeply for me is energizing

What about Vif Hof ways?😮
When you mention slow and light breathing, are you talking about inhaling and exhaling ALL THE WAY? And, can you do it to a timing of 4 in and 6 out?
Amazing! You should advertise your teaching course on TV with us!
Can you email me pls at take-a-deep-breath@outlook.com pls
When you breathe Out reduced, do you completely breathe Out ?
Do your RIBS naturally move out and in, or is there some kind of technique that you have to use?
I wanna know too..
you just need to have ribs.
Can these breathworks be done whilst pregnant?
good question, avoid while pregnant
sadly I tried these exercises when I bought his book about 10 years ago. It did nt help at all with my asthma.
What I am missing is that we can have these guided sessions in other languages, for example in German, or at least with subtitles? Because I want to share with people who can't speak English.
P.S. What I mean below is: can you breathe ALL THE WAY- and still be short of breath?
I’m not breathing out the nose as well/long during meditation, any suggestions? I can exhale longer through the mouth, hmm
That's normal but thats why you want to practice breathing out your nose. Its not meant to be easy.

Nose breathing has really, really helped my asthma. To the point where I can't say that I even have asthma anymore.
Is there a video or webside which explaines the point of these exercises or why one should do this?
What is being cured in this 'breathing cure'.
If we say breathing will cure a specific ailment, then it will be ridiculed and maybe even removed, even if it could be true. If you breathe right long enough you may find that many of the physical issues you've had become alleviated almost to the point where they can be "cured".
Read the book and find out
Erectile dysfunction

Hi Dom, it does get easier, we do adjust quite well to this, I really struggled last year but now its much easier

@@gmc22340 the air hunger should be on the mild side. Try to go easier with the exercise. Retraining takes time and daily practice. Read the book.
what do think about wimhof method they do the exact opposite and praise it like the truth...

Scientific fact about breathing is snake oil? 🤔
