In the original comic book Jessica was rescued by carol danvers but the tv show couldn’t use her because Disney had that awful captain marvel movie in mind. Instead they replaced her with tish walker. When the alias comic did well they retconned Jessica into the Spider-Man world. Her original super heroine altoego was jewel but she was bad at it. When tish wants her to wear a costume, it’s the same as the jewel costume in the comics. Jessica is appalled. It’s a great inside gag.

If Jessica and Matt fight to death, Jessica probably won't land a single blow against him since due to Matt's combat skill and enhanced senses allow him to predict all of Jessica's movements.

She used to be Jewel, she could fly with ease, had super strength, she went toe to toe with some of the Avengers but got a really bad beating. She stopped training and is now a private investigator, so of course she's less stronger than she used to be.

I forget that Jessica is in the same universe as Capt. America, Thanos, Thor and the Guardians. I wonder what she was doing during the attack on New York City? I'd like to imagine she slept through it, drunk from the night before. I would say that she - along with the other Defenders - did their part defending their respective boroughs: Matt and Jess in Hell's Kitchen, Luke in Harlem. I didn't include Danny because He probably still was in Kun Lun by that point.
12:22 to 13:22 is my favourite fight scene in the entire show. It was the most realistic fight scene in the show because, Jessica got hit by a bus and her ribs got damaged. Will was taking a lot of pills so he was stronger than ever. So even though it seemed like at the beginning that Jessica is going to win the fight, Will absolutely dominated her by breaking a chair on her, throwing her into a wall and the worst, throwing her through a wall. If Trish hadn’t show up, Will would have killed Jessica. Thankfully, they didn’t make Jessica’s character overpowered otherwise, it would have been boring to see her win every fight.

She isn't really resistant to telepathy though, in the comics Jean Grey of the X-Men installed some psychic blocks in her head to make her immune to Kilgrave's control (which is pheremonal, not telepathic), in the series she developed a resistance on her own. Her strength, endurance, and healing are comparable to Spiderman's.
If you go by the comics, she also possibly has some kind of psionic/energy blast ability, but maybe not/it's been forgotten. The power was only shown in a brief panel during a dream sequence that was revealed to also be a memory, and it's never been brought up again lol.

a simple explanation, a normal person putting their full force into a one punch knockout makes sense. A person with super strength who has to hold back so their fist doesn't go through a person may hold back too much. Unless they have killing intent.

This was a really great S1. I loved the villain and the super sexy actress and her even sexier Aussie side chick. Were they like lesbian lovers or something? Also Jessica could've killed off the main villain multiple times but she didn't inexplicably till the end. Anyways, they should make another series with the villain. The creators of the show are a bit inconsistent with her strength. Theoretically she would be stronger than Capt. America as he is peak human - meaning he is the strongest that a human could ever be. However Jessica is super-human, meaning she can achieve strength completely unavailable to any human being. Whilst she isn't on the same level as Thor or the Hulk, she is incredibly strong, able to pick up cars etc. The show just doesn't do a good job at portraying her strength.

In the MCU he has never been super-human, and if it hints at being so, it's a continuity error and an inconsistency in his portrayal. So she is really strong sometims...but just kinda medium strong other times....I mean she can pick a guy up with one hand...but not knock one out with one shot....Idk...im confused
The creators of the show are a bit inconsistent with her strength. Theoretically she would be stronger than Capt. America as he is peak human - meaning he is the strongest that a human could ever be. However Jessica is super-human, meaning she can achieve strength completely unavailable to any human being. Whilst she isn't on the same level as Thor or the Hulk, she is incredibly strong, able to pick up cars etc. The show just doesn't do a good job at portraying her strength.

@@alessandrowarna3237 In the first movie it literally explains that he is peak human. In the MCU he has never been super-human, and if it hints at being so, it's a continuity error and an inconsistency in his portrayal. At the end of the day a character is only ever as strong as the writer intends them to be in that scene - so we literally can't sit here debating who is stronger or more powerful.
