This was the most beautifully photographed movie I've ever watched. The lighting, the staging the wardrobe. Everything and everybody in the movie looked beautiful. Vastly underrated. Always thought Cnyda Williams was gonna blow up. Guess it wasn't to be.
@@bridgertonwaters871 The TRUTH is not jealous, idiot. It's OK, MORON. The whole world knows how delusional you black Americans are. You're ALLERGIC to the truth.
I mean yes, its dirty, but he was being real with that love and respect line. Its whatever, he was feeling her and he went for it, aint no rules to this shit!!
Bleek Gilliam is burning the candle at both ends. That's extremely dangerous. Both of his "girlfriends" with the same red dress on? COME ON!!! Shadow was only explaining to Clarke about Bleek's inability to solidify his decisions. If the latter doesn't respect the former, then the latter doesn't love or need the former. Shadow was letting Clarke know that he's available, with a promise to give it a thought.
@@phamawa All of this right here is facts. Bleek told Clarke before this to "Let's stop pretending." She found out he was two-timing her. Meaning he made her a free agent at this point. 2, In the film, Bleek specifically told Shadow that knew Shadow was feeling Clarke and he could make a move on her. In a shady way, but still. Bleek was the hold me back for everybody in the entire film.
@@DuttyGyal718 You are right. Bleek knew Shadow was against him and didn't want Shadow to outsmart him and uplifting Clarke intellectually by giving her the opportunity for her talent that Bleek don't want.
Wesley gives off Daddy vibes here. Sweet, stern and a teacher. You gotta love a man that knows who he is and wants the best for you. Bleek is pure fuck boy lol
Shadow was trying to come across as some kind of knight in shining armor. But in reality he was just as scandalous as Bleek. He wasn’t as conceited as Bleek so in Clarke’s eyes that made him different. Different doesn’t always mean better.
This scenes was crazy because Bleek sent Shadow to Clarke to distract her from seeing Indigo but he just used that as an opportunity to push up on her lol. And they saw each other anyway smh
Note to Spike Lee: A Mo' Better Blues sequel needs to happen!!! Denzel Washington (as Bleek Gilliam), Wesley Snipes (as Shadow Henderson), Spike Lee (as Giant), Cynda Williams (as Clarke Bentancourt), Joie Lee (as Indigo Downes), Giancarlo Esposito (as Left Hand Laceyand) along with John & Nicholas Turturro (as the Flatbush brothers). I would add Eddie Murphy, Idris Elba, Larenz Tate, Chris Tucker, and Omar Epps. I know they were not in the original but they both would add lot to the Mo' Better Blues sequel. R.I.P to the cast of Mo' Better Blues that's no longer with us: Robin Harris, Bill Nunn, Charlie Murphy, Dick Anthony Williams, and Anna Marie Wooldridge.
What would be the point? By the end of the movie, the main character couldn't even play anymore, so he quit music got married, and became a family man.
It just hit me rewatching this scene Shadow ie essentially Tony Montana, Bleek is Frank Lopez and Clark is Elvira. This movie has a similar parallel to 'Scarface' except it isn't told from Shadow's perspective. His speech here is exactly what Tony told Elvira by the pool after him and Frank fell out before they tried to kill Tony.
When you are doing wrong, your penalty never comes equal to your wrong doings. Your punishment tend to be a lot. I’m not sure why but i see this happen too many times in life. He lost his music and he lost his girl 🤦♀️
Shadow qanted to be bleek sooooooo bad he wanted his woman he wanted his band he was miserable he hated this nigga and played the sidekick regardless. Life lesson is with friends like that who needs enemies?
Honestly with her fine ass I can hardly blame her. You'll only be young and have a banging body once in your life, can't sit around acting like a nun. Bleek was just acting like a clown anyway and couldn't figure out what he wanted, of course a guy like Shadow is going to move in there and take advantage.
what shadow did was some snake shit---scheming on another man's woman...even if he and bleek weren't really boys, they were in the same band...I don't care what problems they were having she's off-limits...there's some lines that you don't cross, and that's one of them...I know they were cool at the end but if I had of been bleek no way we would ever be cool again after that...
@@melodygordon9080 --- true, but neither woman was with someone else when bleek was hitting it...they both were unattached when bleek was with them...bleek wasn't a snake to his homeboy like shadow was
