      I think Oliver has it better than me- he's the big boss around here-lol! Starting with a Kilo for the larger bars is a great way to go. Buying the 100 ouncers aren't always the right move anyway. I bought all of those bars back when silver was 12-15 spot price range. Remember the good old days of stacking silver for under 20.00?- wasn't too long ago. Crazy how things are right now.

    (waves at cat) Hi Oliver! Even cats like these huge bars! 😸
    I would LOVE to add an RCM 100oz bar to my stack but I'm on a budget. Largest size I bought was a Kilo size back when silver was under $18/oz. Dunno how I'm gonna get a 100oz bar with spot prices on the rise. Maybe some day.

    • @SilverStruck
      @SilverStruck  Год назад +2

      I'd like to believe we will get a dip in silver at some point and that will make buying easier. Most of the 100 ounce bars on the table had been purchased when silver was 17-19 an ounce range and the premiums where cheaper then as well. The 100 ounce bar is at that price level where you have to decide between stacking a full ounce gold coin or the 100 ounce bar. So, many stack gold instead of buying a large silver bar. Kilos are great to stack as well and more affordable. Ollie still video bombs me when I'm shooting a video. He thinks I'm talking to him, lol!

    Enjoyed this video. Have recently started stacking some silver after focusing on gold for some time. Recently bought a 100 RCM bar and I really like it. Next purchase (awaiting delivery) was 10x10oz. Britannia bars as I want to compare the 10 bars to 100 bars for purposes of adding ounces quickly at a low premium. I’m not into the whole SHTF concept of needing a lot of small silver around. I look at silver as just another investment but I do really like the physical ownership aspect. So, big bars do seem to fit my buying profile but I too am concerned about liquidity in the case of a big jump in price or some kind of financial dislocation. The 10 bars came at a slightly higher premium than the 100’s but the liquidity might make it worth it. Thanks for your video.

    • @SilverStruck
      @SilverStruck  Год назад +1

      The Britannia bars are nice- great quality bar to stack! The 10 ounce bars are the most liquid, imo. Both dealers and private buyers scoop up 10 ounce bars quite easily. The 100 ounce bars meet resistance in the private market but still sell well to your LCS. Often times a private buyer will consider stacking an ounce of gold over the 100 silver bar. I still have all my 100 ounce bars in my stack but these days I buy (10) 10 ounce bars if I want to add 100 ounces to the stack.

    Haven't found any well priced bullion 1 oz tubes, for eg seeing 100 oz bars that are new from Baird in the UK including the VAT (sales tax of 20%) it's working out around £24 per oz when spot is about £19, bullion coins in tubes are just shy of £30 an oz from dealers and a tiny bit less on 2nd hand market,

    If a SHTF scenario happens. How on earth would you get change for buying some foods from a farmer with it?

    • @SilverStruck
      @SilverStruck  3 года назад +4

      100 ounce bars are just to add some serious weight to the stack at the lowest premium possible. They do have a liquidity issue in the sense that you would need to sell or trade 100 ounces at a time. If you are in the market for 100 ounces- you could just simply purchase 100 one ounce silver rounds and that will help with the SHTF scenario. I stacked those bars because I'm less concerned with SHTF and more concerned with inflation issues. The demand for silver is increasing- right now it's pretty easy to move these bars if needed.

    I want to add a 100oz bar or 2 at some point. But I do think selling them as an individual may be a bit of a challenge down the line. I find the prices/premiums a tiny bit higher than what seems justified. I mean, if I can get 1oz gov't cons for LESS per oz than a 100oz bar, then the bar isn't really a good value for the money given the liquidity difference. The 100oz Britannia bar is one of the nicest I've ever seen. But those carry even more of a premium. Like my 80yo bald dad says/jokes, "I wish I were rich instead of just good looking." lol

      Over-all the 100 ounce bars are a great way to stack silver weight and (normally) at a reduced premium. That said, as silver rises in price in the future, it will be increasingly harder to sell 100 ounces at a time privately, just like you pointed out. Great question Silver Dude! I have a metal analyzer but I'm not sure it will test a bar as thick as 100 ounces. You could test the bars with a neodymium magnet. If you really wanted to be sure- you could drill a hole in the middle of the bar but I would not recommend that, lol! All the 100 bars you see I purchased from trusted bullion dealers, so I have not been concerned with authenticity.

    Man you have more ounces there than in my whole stack 😆

      Those 100 ounce bars add up quick. Not as fun as stacking one ounce art bars or coinage but they get the job done! Thanks for dropping by and watching- much appreciated!

    Beautiful bars but after awhile Gold is so much easier to store for weight...

    • @SilverStruck
      @SilverStruck  3 года назад +1

      Absolutely! Gold is so much easier to store vs silver, especially if you try and stack it dollar for dollar worth. I use the silver to hold down the safe!-lol. 👍🤣. Thank you for watching!

      It was easier years ago- now, oh boy. Where are the good old days when a 100 ounce bar was 1,700.00?-lol

    I have only 1oz coins and bars in my stack. To afford a 100 oz bar, I'd have to trade rounds for it. No advantage there.

      Agreed Kenny. I should have mentioned that everyone should stack at their own pace and comfort level. One ounce coins- nothing wrong with that! Thanks for watching!

    It makes it difficult to sell for me because of the BS capital gains tax

      You are smart to factor in the resale of the silver you buy. Many stackers don't figure in an exit strategy, so it's great you have. 100 ounce aren't always the best silver depending on your own situation.

    We are taxed 20% on silver then there's the premium,s on top so waste of money ,here in Scotland, but no tax on gold so it's gold all the way 👍

      If I where taxed 20% on silver...I'd stack gold as well! Thank you for checking out the silvers bars Shaun, much appreciated.

    Ounce I get into bars that big, I rather buy Gold. Such as a Buffalo.

      I hear you Scrapper! I think the same way as you these days and have been adding full ounce gold instead of 100 bars. Still accumulating silver but smaller bars and rounds. Thanks for checking out the video, much appreciated! I've been able to keep Oliver away from my silver lately, he hasn't made it on RUclips in awhile, lol!

    If you stack hundreds of these, no thieves will be able to steal them. They will need at least a fork lift!

      LOL! Right on David- if the safe is too heavy to lift then your stacking the right way! 👍👍

    Clout

    • @SilverStruck
      @SilverStruck  2 года назад

      Clout works, I can see that. Not a lot of stackers achieve purchasing 100 ounces of silver at a time. As of late, I have been focused on the 10 ounce and kilo sizes bars. There are only so many 100 ounce bars a stacker needs🤣

    People who stack silver are literally just to poor to stack gold...

    • @SilverStruck
      @SilverStruck  2 года назад +1

      I have pretty close to 100 ounces in gold and I stack a lot of silver. You can go back in the vids and see much of my gold stack. I will say stacking large amounts of silver causes a heck of a space issue and gold packs more value in a much smaller item.
