    Still bad at Surf? Check this out - ADVANCED Surf Guide: • How to Beat ANY Surf Map
    CSGO Surf is one of the hardest games to learn, with complicated physics and punishing controls. It took me thousands of hours to master the basics. We went deep on surf fundamentals and then tackled broader topics such as curved ramps, headsurfs, and saveloc usage.

    Ramping is so incredibly important in surf, and even something like the line you take on a ramp can be crucial for how your run is gonna go. Sometimes, an immediate bottom-out on a ramp can lose you units, while a consistent, delayed line to the bottom of the ramp helps you gain units.
    Goliath B2 is a good example, because if you don't bottom out immediatly, it gets you a better angle to second, which in turn helps to to more easily finish the bonus.

    Great video. I think it's worth mentioning that looking up or down has no impact on your movement and gaining or losing height is only dependent on how much you move your mouse into or away from the ramp. Also with vertical mouse movement out of the equation, saying up or down the ramp becomes less confusing.

    the biggest takeaway for new players - before you board a ramp, strafe such that the angle you're boarding the ramp is as perpendicular with the ramp as possible. think about what happens when you smack into the ramp, same as smacking into a wall. minimize unit loss due to collision with ramps

    The thing I’m imagining as I’m learning how to surf is that my character is very delicate, (made out of glass or something idk) and so I’m trying not to have any blunt accelerations or decelerations in any direction, like landing and clunking on the edge of a ramp or smacking into the side when boarding from the same side, seemed to help tons.

    you have to see it like a lane change on the highway usng your car.
    some ramps stop not in the same line as the last, you to do the
    adjustment you move the mouse as slightly as the gap, and turn
    allows you to. as soon as you touch the ramp you want to be parrallel
    with the ramp, or slightly pointing downwards.
    on the turns i can only add dont focus on staying on the same height
    on the ramp, move your mouse exactly like the turn is angled. so if the turn starts very flat, and then keeps getting tighter the same way you have to move the mouse according to that turn change. it takes
    a few tries, but then you have the feeling to it.

    • @ethhics
      @ethhics Год назад +6

      Crouching is mostly used to narrowly miss the edge of the startzone. In run, you can press crouch to make your playermodel a bit smaller, so you fit under/over obstacles. You can also perform a crouchboard on ramps, but that is a highly advanced technique that mostly only high level surfers use

    • @chimpanzee243
      @chimpanzee243 Год назад

      For the long curves you can still do that you just have to move your mouse further into the curve. It's generally easier because there's no chance of coming off the ramp and colliding with it again, which will happen if you are strafing into the ramp and move your mouse too fast. It's a lot harder to it perfectly, but it's faster because it's the shortest line.

Unless you are on a curved ramp, you ALWAYS press D if you are moving your mouse to the right, and A if you're moving your mouse to the left. You NEVER press D and move your mouse to the left and vice versa. You only do this if you're on a curved ramp.

    Also you're mistaking edpi with your sensitivity multiplier. Edpi or Tdpi is the mouse DPI * in game sensitivity. E.g. 800 DPI * 1.1 = 880DPI.
    Are you suggesting a range between 800 * 0.6-1.4 ?
    That'd be anywhere between 480 - 1120 tDPI/ eDPI (true or effective dpi)
