I love Korea. I lived there for 4yrs. Such great people. I personally, think the Koreans would be floored that a bunch of islanders had taken the time to learn their language. Unfortunately, Koreas music industry has a one note look. No variation, individuality, self expression…once an artist strays from the music labels brief the artist gets shelved. The Kpop business can be devastating to those who were once in it and then suddenly discarded because they’re old news and no longer make money.
The reason that industry is that way is that powerful vocal centric bands do not see as much wide spread success as the current mainstream format. Since western audiences are more prone to listen to the current Korean mainstream pop music than "Korean ballads" for example, there is no reason to do it another way in business perspective.
I think this group are in it for the love of the art and it shows in every aspect. Music lovers anywhere will appreciate it. Also cafe culture in Korea is strong, there may be a niche for them.
