Growing up around Dave and Nikki as a musician, instilled gravity of purpose in me in terms of identity. You have to mean it, look it...be it and live it but I also saw the perils. ML
...yeah true...he used to pop round to the shops wearing his suits and hats everyone staring at him but he didnt give a $h!t😂😂😂 ...r.i.p. Nikki, Epic, Kevin, Darrell and Dave😢
Klaus Totzler if you watched the interview he said that dinosaur jr is a garbage band. Why don’t you pay attention and watch the fucking interview before you ask a stupid question like that.
i think nikki was a little bit jealous shall we say that sonic youth & dinosaur jr. got big while he never really got what he deserved. like johnny thunders he was so talented but not reliable or organised enough to play the game
@@edshellard145 Agreed. Just two years before this interview Nikki released his collaboration with Rowland S. Howard, another talented musician who also never got his just desserts (at least partly due to the same substance abuse issue which plagued Nikki and Johnny Thunders), while some of those he inspired went on to great success. It's sad in so many ways, but I'm glad we still have the music they made.
@peterbee88 are u 12...don't comment on things u have no idea what you're talking about..well known fact that the replacements , sonic youth, Dino Jr and plenty others were influenced by sudden and his earlier bands. They even shared an album w nikki called the Bridge, a neil young tribute..just cause they don't sound alike doesn't mean he wasn't an influence..
Why is this music good? I genuinely want to know. I think a fair bit of Swell Maps stuff is great, and I would love to enjoy more Nikki Sudden and Epic Soundtracks solo stuff, but it sounds like - and I'm not trying to be hyperbolic - complete shit, and I have to wonder if that's why it didn't get more attention.
@WesleyGravolet cheers. Yeah, it actually does! He could be so inspired with Swell Maps that it makes sense that was good stuff SOMEWHERE in his pretty extensive catalogue.
He was such a great artist. Thanks for posting this

He was a total chancer.
This is fantastic😊 A Trip To Marineville is an absolute masterpiece: will always be one of my favourite albums ❤
Nikki rules-end of story-we miss you Nikki!💙
Thanks for posting this! Love Nikki Sudden and the Jacobites.

Bwitish wadio
Dino Jr, "garbage band", ouch!

Funnily enough his brother Epic Soundtracks recorded an album with J Mascis in the 90's

Anybody have a version without the Japanese dubbed over at the start and end?
Yes, last week I discovered a UK version on the end of a VHS tape. Only got the first 3,5 mins

Don't worry about it - yer not missing anything.
Ha Ha ...I bought that Far Out & Fishy fanzine, I always remembered that quote ..."don't dress like him".
A Johnny Hodgson video!
The world didn't listen
Cuz he's crap
I think its a bit weird he thinks dinosaur jr is sh*t...to me they sound like they are influenced by nikki quite a bit.
Dinosaur Jr are great.
This guy is a joke.
No way they were influenced by his garbage.
They won't even have heard of him.

No way was J Mascis influenced by this loser. Most likely never heard of him.
This guy's a joke.
Sounds a bit like Bill Wyman.

As a fan if this guy he could get redundant but if u dig thru the bs there is alot of good stuff in there...hope that helps!
@WesleyGravolet cheers. Yeah, it actually does! He could be so inspired with Swell Maps that it makes sense that was good stuff SOMEWHERE in his pretty extensive catalogue.
It is indeed complete shit, and yes that's why this guy didn't get anywhere.
He is awful.
