Hi Katherine, What a treat to view on January 1st! Ahh.....Calming, exciting, transforming, what a video of these special places! Thank you for sharing with us!
Hello Maria 🤗 I had never been in to see the Great Glacier and have been wondering what it looked like for so long. Super Cool! I wish that we could have driven up through the entrance and explored the lake and glacier up close, but those waters looked nasty 😬 Happy New Year and I hope that 2023 be a good one 💛
@@kathivy I, too, had never seen the Great Glacier until your video! The one time I was headed up the trail, a brown bear with two cubs were ahead on the trail, unbenown to us. Instead of charging us, she jumped into the icy river and swam across to the other side, then one at a time, her cubs did also. They swam to a sand bar half way across, and she came back and brought each one across to the far side. It was the most amazing bear experience I have had to be able to watch this unfolding and not be harmed!!
@@mariabyford5044 what an experience that would have been! I'm always happy not to see bears unless they are swimming in the water and I'm safe in the boat 😬 One time we were headed up Alpine Creek and we saw a mom and two cubs swimming in the water. The two cubs climbed on top of her for a ways while she swam toward the shore. Such a cool thing to see!
So many beautiful things to see! The color of the water was different in various places and so mesmerizing! And the time lapse of the sun was just stunning. What a great way to start our New, bright, shiny Year of 2023. 🎉❤🥳🎊🍭🎶🌈👍
Those were glorious sights to see! The remainder of the trip up the Iskut was gorgeous too, but much more scary in parts 😬 I love that timelapse. It was so foggy that morning and I was hoping that the sun would burn it off for us. Happy New Year 🥳🌎🌱🪴🌻☀
Hi Katherine and Tyler 👋👋 thankyou so much for sharing,l could never tier of wat hing this video, it's absolutely amazing and stunningly breath taking.Tyler obviously knows his way round and can read the water well.Happy New Year to you both and family's may 2023 bring you great health and loads of joy and beyond ❤️ till next time dear friend's 🌱🌱🌱💞
Hello Joyce 👋😀 What an amazing place! I had to make three separate videos because the trip was so long 😳 Happy New Year to you and your family 🎉 I hope that we all have a great 2023!
Perfect timing! So this glacier is not the same one at Glacier Lake right? The time lapse at camp may be one of your best shots yet in my opinion. It was friken awesome.
The glacier that I've shown in other videos is called Shakes Glacier and the one in this video is called the Great Glacier, and this was my first time seeing it! We weren't able to drive into the lake and see this glacier up close because the waters at the entrance are too nasty to enter. They have a trail that you can hike to get close enough to the glacier to see it. I really love the timelapse at the camp site too! It was amazing to see the fog rise up off the river and mountain.
@@seakadventurer1330 it looks like it! It makes me nervous just thinking about it. I imagine it would be cool to bring a canoe up the trail and paddle around in the lake.
Beautiful views up your way, Katherine. Happy New Year 🎉
It was an amazing trip!!! Happy New Year to you and family 🎉😃👍

It's a bumpy ride up into the lake
