Hello I’m a Grand Turk native Understand that food will be expensive at the cruise port and the restaurants like Jack Shack and Margarita vile are not local restaurants they don’t sell local cuisines. Food down town Grand Turk is a lot more cheaper and you would find local cuisines.
Hi!! Any specific local cuisines you recommend near the port?
Ho where at
Going soon...are there any local foods or places you would suggest? @omargarland2643
We're stopping by with RCL in June. Hoping family will venture outside the built port to eat. I enjoy local cuisines as I've done in Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and throughout the US.
Great advice two years later - especially about the free chairs and to bring your own snorkel gear. You saved me $$$!
Grand Turk is my favorite place! Snorkeling was AMAZING. I have never seen anything so beautiful. The fish were so pretty & colorful. Love Margaritaville too..such a fun time. No excursion needed in Grand Turk!
Hi Lauryn
We are heading to grand Turk on a cruise and looking to snorkel. Where do u recommend to snorkel besides outside the cruise ship?
This is still a port I need to get to, i have enjoyed all of the vlogs that have covered GT, has been placed on my bucket list!
Great idea to bring the snorkel gear. Nice to go at your own pace. Thanks.
I only been to Grand Turk once and loved it plus I definitely intend on going back there. The food was very delicious and I recommend you go snorkeling if you ever visit. The water and sea species are very pleasing to the eyes.
Thanks for this Josh! Looking forward to going myself sometime soon!
Love Grand Turk,it is one of my favourite islands. You are right food is not cheap, eat on the ship, where the food is included. The water there is beautiful, took a tour of the island.
Great video this is very helpful!
You always give great tips and reviews. Visited Grand Turk Feb 17th on the Carnival Conquest. Loved the island. Jack Shack was awesome 😎
Did you have to show proof of vaccination before disembarking in grand turk
Great tips. We are going on the Breeze March 2021 and will take all these tips into consideration. First time for Grand Turk.
Take water shoes the water at the beach has a rough rockbead underneath the water. And have sunscreen it is a very hot port.
Heading there in may for the second time. Can't wait
We love GT, snorkel and pool all the time 😍🥳🏊♀️
I love Grand Turk. We have been 4 or 5 time we also did the open tram ride around the island just mostly stay around Margaritaville
Great tips Josh, especially about the food prices, too expensive for my budget. Looking at the ship that holds a tons of food that you already paid for vs buying food on the island .... Humm
another great thing to do here is a dive on the wall that is right there at the port if your certified or do a Padi resort course there. It is amazing
Thanks Josh
Just a reminder, that one of the reasons appetizers are so expensive in Turks and Caicos is they need to ship everything in.
When we arrived all the free chairs and umbrellas were occupied. We had to pay 25$ for 2 chairs and umbrella. Agree on the snorkel. Lot's of fish to see.
We got scammed on that beach chair charge. Wish we would have seen this in November. Thanks for the heads up Josh
GT is one island in the Caribbean that I haven't been to. I need to go there if only to be able to say that I have been. These are great tips Josh.
It is beautiful but certain parts of the beach is a little rocky in the water so bring water shoes. They have this amazing smoothie shop that was delicious. Things can be a bit pricey depending on what you are looking for or find. And if you want to time to explore get off the ship early and stay as long as you can. Also have sunscreen already on because that port is extremely hot and have a bottle of water on you.
Serious about the water shoes cause those rocks don't play.
Hi josh We , ( my daughter whim is 5 years old ) and myself , would love to go on a cruise with you and your family this year , but with this bug going around I am not sure about going on a cruise this year , you are much a hoot when it comes to watching you on your cruises .
Messed up a couple toes pretty bad on the rocks at the beach.
Hey josh sorry to bother you but just wondering what will your next cruise be beside the group cruise in the fall?
We are going to grand Turk next week on the carnival sunrise.... has anyone gotten off the ship in the morning and back on for lunch then off again?? I have cruise a lot of times but never been at a port where the ship was this close- let me know thanks!
We went to lunch on Bonaire and very basic 2 drinks an app and a grill ... 75 bucks. Omg
Are there any wheelchair vans to get to see somewhere other than just the port?
💥
Thanks for the info Josh...going on the Breeze in October...great tips..my first time going to grand turk..have any tips for aruba or Bonaire?
For Aruba, we did Trikes Aruba. You and a passenger get your own trike to drive around the island. Great excursion. In Bonaire, you have to do a snokeling tour. Clearest water I have ever seen.
For grand Turk if you are going in the water take water shoes because there is a rockbed underneath that water the will scrape up your feet. And a lot of sunscreen cause that port is vert hot.
is there snorkel rental on the island?
do you even get to see any of the island?
Would love to do Grand Turk but im huge on NCL and not a port for them 🤔🤔. Have considered Carnival but my very first cruise about 9 years ago was a 3 day to the Bahamas and honestly was not impressed. They are more affordable but just feel that first cruise tarnished my view of the line in general. Also LOVE that NCL has an option to include the bev pkg with the fare. (If you choose correctly) The hubby and i like to get our drink on when on vacay and HUNDREDS of dollars for a bev pkg which is NOT unlimited is a drawback.
We cruise Carnival and Royal.quite often. My tip for Carnival is to stay away from the short Bahamas cruises. They attract a totally different clientele and party atmosphere and I am not a fan, those days are done for me lol. The 7 day + are the ones you want to try on Carnival. You should give a longer one a shot, I think you will find it comparable to NCL and Royal but a better price. NCL free at see is definitely not free. The amount your cruise fare increases when you choose that "free perk" almost pays for the drink package on the other cruise lines.
I went on an 8 day on the Carnival Sunrise last year July and Grand Turk was our first stop. It was honestly the best experience ever. That ship was constantly cleaned 24/7, there was a mixure of different types of crowds on board, I got to relax and also party whenever I felt like. It was so peaceful and one of the best vacations I have had. And Grand Turk was gorgeous and I honestly want to go back to experience more. It is pricey at Grand Turk but depends on what you are looking for. Plus you on Vaca so enjoy and spoil yourself.
I hear the clamshells on the beach are now $40. Can someone confirm this?
Do they have snorkel gear you can rent?
I’ve not found any but they do usually have some for purchase in the shops around the port
Im going to grand turk march of 2023, how mych does it cost to snorkel?
Is the pool free
Yep it sure is! Enjoy!
