Also, the labels will never allow creative control, because they are beholden to someone they have to listen to.

Makes me think of Prince. He was an artist... a true artist... that refused to be a slave of the industry. Everyone laughed at him when he changed his name to a symbol. He gave zero F's. He was going to do things his own way. When you look at Kanye it's hard to not see his predecessor in Prince.
