Dear Safari enthusiast,if coming from Nairobi to Mombasa ,use the Train you get to see elephants and lions of the Tsavo along the route. Its only 4 hrs.
Brilliant Ideas only if you have all day, flight straight to ukunda or Malindi is the best bet, plus getting out of the train station at night when it arrives is not a great experience and then you have to travel to your final destination which should hopefully not be anywhere the train station.
I am a Tanzanian, and Kenyans are like our Rival cousins🙂 we love them, they love us and we are rivals. Having said that I would like to ask WHY THE HELL DID YOU NOT VISIT NAIROBI CITY CENTRE??? Its full of fancy buildings, flyovers, clean streets etc. Why only show a dull looking part of Nairobi? I was not pleased
Happy to see you in such good spirits, Nick! I hope you have had a wonderful time in Kenya. Thank you for taking us along on your adventures, and for sharing the good, bad, and the ugly parts of traveling. Take care!
Beautiful place! I was just talking geography with my evening class of English language learners, and we were talking about the coast of Kenya and which ocean is along the coast. So fun to come home from class and see this video! I’ll try to show it to students next class. Can’t wait to meet Big Sam and see more of Mombasa! 👍🏼✌🏼💗

Kenya Airways are a fantastic airline, Nicholas haha . You were on one other their new Embraer 190 aircraft, none of E190 are older than 6 years, so really new. I had a cool Uber driver in Podgorica two weeks ago, spent over a hour in his taxi, he told the history of his country, he was a Super Uber !! Cool modern apartment in such a great beach location, loving your African travels Nick.
Gotta Love our Kenyan Uber drivers....Awesome guys! Great work Nick on having authentic experiences instead of the standard touristy stuff guys do when they visit Kenya.
This is such a vibe, my family and i live in the Pacific Northwest, but we moved from Kenya around 8 years ago, im 18 now, we visit our family every now and then, in Nairobi, Voi, Mwaktau and Mombasa. Mombasa is my favorite place by far, my cousins live there and I only have pleasant memories besides the humid climate, everything is so chill. It is such a nostalgic place for me. Seeing a New Zealander in that location is so cool, must have been a dope experience
If you find a good driver talk to them about working together for 3 days or more. I met a driver, David, in Nairobi and we drove for 3 weeks together. I met his family. Sisters etc. he was delighted to get a good solid income and I did not have to think any more about local busses and getting about. I learned so much about local culture from David and his friends. I have also done this in Nepal and India and Sri Lanka. I’m also a birdwatcher so they have to get used to stopping suddenly but the drivers ask all the local people about where birds are . Then they get creative and works out well.
nice video - i enjoyed. He is a rookie doing what I do for a living. I work in Nairobi 12 years and go to to the coast for leisure. But its nice to see it captured like this. Well appreciated
Good to see you in Kenya Nick. A bit funny seeing you go through the paces of Nairobi. Good idea going to Mombasa for a breather. PS: consider travelling back to Kenya when it's sunny - the true magic is in the weather. Nonetheless, welcome! Do feel free to get in touch when you return to Nairobi from your Mombasa trip, I'll be glad to spare sometime to show you around the Green City in the Sun.

Nairobi is way developed and very modern according to African standards. Mombasa is chilled out and hot but beautiful because of the beach , palm trees, coconut, street food, sand and sun.
you noticed that the plane was almost empty? people travel by train. It's very cheap and enjoyable in trains because you will have an opportunity to watch wildlife such as elephants in Tsavo national park during the 4 hrs journey (500km distance). The trains are new and the rail is raised above the ground, so you will have a fantastic view while travelling. Travelling in planes will be very costly in empty planes because you know they have to incur for fuel and all the services. Welcome to Kenya. However, if you are in a hurry you can take a plane
