The animation for the grasshopper fight was below par, but it is understandable since it is one of the less important fight scenes in a fight heavy arc. The ghosting and dimming though is definitely damaging what MAPPA is presenting, with the former being more pronounced than the latter this episode.
tbf the choreography was pretty bad in the manga too and the Grasshopper curse is very hard to draw so it makes sense that low priority episode like this one won't be that good.
Before his EPIC comeback in 3 or 4 years later, we will still see him in a few important scenes, like in Ichiji's memory as subordinate, Gojo's conversation with Megumi about the previous Six Eye User and the previous 10 Shadows User, also family scene of Gojo with Little Megumi while walking home together.

Briefly put, I believe Gojo will prioritize the elimination of the cursed spirits, forsaking or even sacrificing trapped non-sorcerers in the process. Yuji will learn of this and be pissed. Some your guess is correct. This ep showed indeed how Gojo and Yuji as teacher and student are different. Yuji brings out Gojo's cheerful side though 😂

But then again this time is different. They called out gojou saturo in person which is likely to result they didn't have any manpower to do anything different. Probably all sorcerers are focused on this one mission at the time.
It's a little hard to see in the reaction footage (I have not watched the ep as of writing), but in the manga it tells us in text that since Megumi is grouped together with Nanami and Maki/Nobara is with Naobito they are able to be assessed for grade one promotion. As those two are both grade one sorcerers and did not recommend any of the three. Yuji on the other hand is with Mei Mei who did recommend him and Panda is with Kusakabe a faculty member of Tokyo High. As we know already the number of sorcerers, capable ones that is lol, is extremely low so they probably paired the last two with whoever was left.

@@jaqavious2105 imo s1 is by far the best in fight animations, s2(hidden inventory)scenery and characters are nice but fights are slightly lower than s1, Yuji vs Grasshoper is good but again one of the worst among the fights( not saying it's bad tho, just not yet reach my expectations, also i'm guessing they save some budgets for the upcoming fights)

It was HARD to see what was going on on that fight, even if its a low priority ep It still had a decent animation, but that ghosting is making things way worse and that's a shame, there are some flashy fights and i hope they don't get compromised
