Sorry man, but Joop is one of the best top 5 flagrancy ever. When I want to get some compliments I definitely wear Joop! It may not fit in a work environment (unless you want to catch the attention of your colleagues). Guys, if you want to be very well prepared to any situation go for the following fragrances: Acqua di gio, Blue de chanel, Joop Homme, La nuit de l'homme, The one! That is it. Smell good!
honestly I understand the comparison between joop to santal and individuel. The problem is it takes 8 hours for joop to calm the fuck down to where the similarities can be seen. Joop is so damn offensive when first sprayed and that offensiveness lasts for eons. I would say spray joop on a tester card and leave it for a good 24 hours. Then come back and smell it. You might just get it then.
Honestly joop get lots of complaints. Even Jeremy fragrance loves it. I think your hate for it is because it was compared to fragrances that you like better. But we all have different tastes . Green Irish tweed and cool water and aspen all smell like unsweetened soap to me I have no clue why anyone would like them. But you have me wanting to try santal now.
Similarities simply means there are notes that appear similar, although there can be a world of differences between fragrances. If two fragrances both have cinnamon notes, someone can say they are similar. Having said that, Joop is in a class of its own. You definitely have to go easy on the trigger, and let is cook on your skin for a while before it actually turns pleasant. Upon first spray, it is like walking into a candy shop and being drowned in sugar. I actually just blind bought Individuel based on these online reviews. Can't wait to get it and 'compare' it.
Thank goodness Joop is not very similar to creed santal. I had it and I thought it smelled too feminine and is too strong. I love cinnamon and am looking to get my first creed fragrance. Do you really think creed santal is worth it
I got joop first and I liked the initial smell but it was so stong, so sweet, and so artificial that it made me sick after a few seconds. I had to get it out of my house. Santal on the other hand is amazing. Starts off strong but mellows into a nice warm spice scent that lasts for hours.
I LOVE how Joop! gets unceremoniously dumped! So funny, I totally agree with you dude, especially when stacking it next to OS and Individuel because some folks feel somehow the three of them merit a frag off!

Man you shouldn't be doing fragrance reviews - if you consider Joop homme a trash you should do anal cream comparisons instead. Really ... why everyone is doing reviews on YT of everything these days thinking they have something to say. You might not like it but this fragrance is an all-time classic that deserves some respect at least. Also ..for your information ...1989-up to mid 90s formulations smelled slightly different (more sharpy, less sweetness).

Joop! smell way better than those other two. One spray will last 3 days

First time I sprayed Individuel it reminded me of Joop, but the nightflight version, not Joop homme at all.

I own MB and Joop and have to say prefer MB as it more subtle fragance and from i heard is closer to Santal.
$20USD? Joop pronouced in English like Jeep but with oooop is £50 for 125ml thats about 90 USD.

Great review. I thought it was me, in fact I was put off by MB Individual and OS CREED because I smelled Joop first.
