Yup, I like JEPI and JEPQ. I split evenly between the two because JEPI is the SandP and JEPQ is the Nas. So it gives you a pretty good spread and should give you some growth without dripping in. I take 10 percent and drip it back in to make it grow a little faster too. It really helps me supplement my police pension. I just entered GLO too, it has a 19.96 percent div too.
JEPI as a sedative! Lol. It should offer a smoother ride for sure. I still think BABA could turn out to be an amazing stock... Just need Xi to do a Thanos finger snap.
Hey Dr Dave. JEPI is My favorite as well. I guess the 3 managers with 30+ years experience each is helping perfect this thing. I Cant figure out what is in thier ELN's but They must be capturing some nice profit for JPM Chase. I noticed alot of fund managers bringing JEPI into thier own fund since it seeems to be a stable product. JEPI has made some nice $$$ since I've owned it. 500 shares and looking to increase that to about 1000 shares
Hey Dave. I'm actually just a dentist... There is a little mystery with these 2 and their ELN's. I did reach out but never heard back. I will try again. Do you think Stu blocked me?
My finaical advisor would not touch either because they haven't been out long enough. He did purchase some SCHD and QQQ for me. Maybe look back in a couple of years to see if they are still going strong.
Being a small investor I do not understand how this ELN Strategy works... but I can imagine that they run a big counterparty risk depending on the issuer of the notes. I remember well small people "advised" by bankers to buy papers issued by Lehman Brothers.
Hi. Still digging myself and will share what I find. The concept of an ELN (Bond and option combo) is not concerning but the overall yield from such an ELN...
Love these 2 ETF’s. I’m over 15K shares in JEPI, and close to 1500 JEPQ. Fantastic month indeed. I’m also acutely aware of the taxes I’ll wind up paying. That said it’s worth it.
Wow. You must have so much confidence in JEPI and its ELNs strategies. Hopefully distributions are high, safe and sustainable in the long haul. I am curious how their ELNs strategies work instead of just writing covered calls options on the stocks they own.
Once volatility goes back to normal levels in the next 18 months or so JEPI will go down to its typical 8-9% yield like a year ago. Still over decades reinvesting and adding new money on top of that the power of compounding numbers will blow your mind.
Hi Timothy. JHDV is brand new. I would like to see some more info first. Interesting that they call it a high dividend ETF but largest holdings are AAPL and MSFT. At this point, I would probably look at VYM or SCHD fortsome growth and dividend until I saw more info from JHDV. Plus expense ratio is considerably higher for JHDV.
Well. I finally got MSTR called away. I was able to buy 90 JEPI with the MSTR premium. Now I’m going after AMZN and buying JEPI with premium. Sold a $115 put in AMZN. Ouch! The volatility is helping with premium but wow that Powell talk.
Hey Grant. AMZN is a great company but this market can easily look at it as "overvalued". I'm heavy in GOOG and similar situation. Good luck out there!
Enjoying your channel, I'm investing in JEPI, SCHD, and VYM. Thinking of investing in JEPQ. Question, are you reinvesting your dividends or cashing them out?
Hi Michael. I take the cash but continue to grow my positions. I prefer to pick the day I buy my shares but simply personal preference. Thanks for watching!
Hey Burke. Just replied to your other post. I lean toward a larger portion in SCHD and JEPI with a smaller allocation in JEPQ and DIVO. Still think it needs some additional components to build it out. Work in progress!
And the best part of it all is that I sell covered calls against JEPI and generate additional couple hundred bucks a month - JEPQ added options this week as well 🎉
Hi. I don't like the strategy. It is just a robotic transaction that sells an ATM call regardless of the market. They charge 60 basis points to do it. I think I can do better.
@@wealthadventures you think since JEPQ and JEPI write CC out the money (unlike qyld where cc are written ATM) they will do better in both up and down markets?, I have seen QYLD and RYLD loose principle value as well as JEPI, but JEPQ seems to retain the principle at buy price.
@@harsharao3555 Yes. I like the fact that there are decisions behind there trades. Similarly with DIVO where they select stocks each month for their covered calls.
It is interesting to see how these covered calls options ETFs perform in high interest rates environment. Majority of them have been thriving in zero or low interest environment. I think the Fed can't raise rates higher since there are trillions of debts out there including national debts that are sensitive to higher rates.
Hi Karl. That is one of the reasons I like this type of fund. It offers some defense with the call options in a bear market. Throw in dollar cost averaging and I feel good about the investment.
Hi David. A lot. Most of the distribution will be ordinary income with a portion from real dividends. It ultimately depends on your tax situation but I would expect it do be around 36% for myself. It has to make sense for your situation otherwise look at another investment and avoid the tax.
