Summoner is seriously one of the most unique weapons in the game!
Going to be keeping you in my thoughts man. Scary surgery for sure, but I hope your recovery is easy on you.
I believe having this surgery will be life changing for you, and you'll bounce back better than ever! I have a heal clip onslaught roll that slaps, did you ever get that roll because I don't think you mentioned it in your video.
Summoner with freehand grip and dynamic sway reduction has more accurate and consistent hipfire than Prophet with Hipfire Grip. I'm not even joking.
edit: It's better than Perpetualis with Enhanced Hipfire as well, btw.

I remember there was a lot of chatter when Trials came back in Worthy there was a lot of chatter of "added effects" of each of the weapons most of which were more placebo or people's realizations of perks on high stat'd weapons, like some people swearing Tracking Module on Tomorrow's Answer was "more sticky" but it was more of a circumstance of just how high Velocity+Blast Radius could be on it.
Summoner is where it crosses the line more towards reality, that scope and its effects are definitely felt.

I had a heart attack at 33 (ignored a blood infection for way too long) with a 6 month old baby at home. I've never been so terrified in all my life. Keep your chin up mate. Its amazing what they can do to sort you out. Much love

The medical field for installing a pacemaker is advanced. I wouldn't say it's fully matured because boundaries are still being pushed in cardiac medicine but pacemakers are well understood. I wouldn't be afraid of getting the procedure done. Of course I would just be afraid in general because it's an invasive surgery and people are naturally scared by health related life changing events. Just think of it like this. Today, weapon review video, next Monday (or whenever) pacemaker install, a little time for recovery, and we'll see you right back for another video. You got this man.
Through all the sandbox changes and perk refreshes, best way to describe Summoner still being an amazing auto rifle then and now: "Same as it ever was".

Auto rifles have one strong week and catch a nerf. Conditional stays broken for a full year and nothing.
or if they are gonna have CF in the game atleast make a legendary shotgun with one shot out of 4 being able to stasis freeze or solar ignite, chances of it having a round turn to another freeze or ignite shot are highly improbably but once in a blue moon you'd trigger its shotgun roulette intrinsic perk automatically filling the first elemental shot back up.
Thank you for this video. I have a couple good summoner rolls I have been in love with - Tap the trigger, zen moment / incandescent, overflow / onslaught, heal clip - and they have been very ferocious. Also I had a bi-valve ICD put in for super ventricular tachycardia. I was super scared about having it done but talking to the surgeon about it: very normal procedure. I have had it in almost a year now and I feel like a completely different person.

I stopped farming after getting 50 adept summoners with many combinations. an interesting combo was onslaught with high cal, I realized how strong the high cal was especially if I proc onslaught, people couldn't even shoot me with that flinch.

Summoner, even with overflow rampage (the roll I kept since witch queen) still shoots in a straight line. Take my word for it, this gun has the least bloom and most accuracy out of any auto rifle. No diff

I trained jiu jitsu the other night with a kid in his 20s. He told me after he has a pacemaker. Didn't stop him from being a tough fighter on the mats. You got this cool guy!
I absolutely love my Adept roll with Extended Barrel, Light Mag, and Range Masterwork running Dynamic Sway and Golden Tricorn. I just swap The Mod between Adept Stability or Adept Range depending on which one I need more for Map and Engagement distances.
As for why I love DSR and Golden Tricorn is to quote CoolGuy here "Good combination of a Win Now and a Win later perk." DSR helps me with that first engagement then Golden Tri helps me with that second one just by winning that first engagement!!!
But I have to say I think the one biggest thing that makes Summoner such a "Staple" weapon in all Sandboxes it's thrived in is it is just a "Workhorse" weapon. It does a little bit of everything at A teir effeciency that pushes into S tier with the right Perk combinations that work for you the Player and how you play!!!!
Friend Of mine has had open heart surgery and had a pacemaker in his chest since his twenties. In his thirties, he is a father of two daughters and works full time as a head nurse. Happy, tired, and healthy. Thanks for the hard work coolguy you'll be fine. Either way i'ma still be praying for you.

I got heal clip and onslaught on mine... Only thing I'd change is to have it be Max range. I'm loving it
One thing that often gets overlooked on the Trials weapons - Alacrity origin trait is GOATED if you are doing solo content, Legend Lost Sectors, Solo Dungeons, etc. Absolute metric ton of stats that are way over budget compared to other origins when its conditions are met, the reload speed is especially nice.
Most definitely, I was using a Messenger with Kinetic Tremors in a solo lost sector, I had Alacrity on it and it felt like a laser at times.

I got one adept from the path of persistence last weak. Chambered compensator, high cal, perpetual motion, and golden tricorn or rampage. Its not a god roll but it feels really good
Got an adept roll with Arrowhead (84 Recoil), Ricochet, Heal Clip, Kill Clip//Onslaught, Range MW and it S L A P S
Jealous. That roll sounds cracked

I have thought about this a few times but I would like to argue that Rampage might be better than onslaught. If you activate Onslaught increases your RPM up until it's Max where the shake can and does often knock you off of your target requiring you to utilize more bullets to secure that kill. But Rampage increases the damage that your bullet steal meaning you can serve ammo in your magazine while parking Rampage never requiring a Reload and able to run around and secure more kills with less bullets with a similar ttk. Now is onslaught fun heck yes, but I don't think that it is necessarily better than Rampage. Thoughts?
Hopefully the voice to text typos didn't mess up what I was trying to say too much because I'm feeling too lazy to go back and edit it LOL the tldr Rampage increases bullet damage conserving ammunition allowing for easier chain gills whereas Onslaught only increases the RPM lowering the ttk but still requiring many many bullets while mitigating the lack of no damage buff with extra reload. Rampage just seems better for chaining kills

Yo I recently got diagnosed with SVT, and they did an ablation on one of the nodes in my heart....i have not had an episode since the procedure and before the procedure i has having episodes every day....its changed my life.... Anyhow, I'll keep you in my thoughts and can't wait for your next video.

Has anyone looked at precision instrument in this new sandbox? The emphasis on crits is huge now and been using a fang of ir ut with it and holy snap it shreds. Great vid like usual!
600 auto meta was my personal nightmare and seeing straight up everyone in trials run Summoner and just spam pre fire at doorways with ricochets gives me ‘Nam flashbacks. For my own personal enjoyment of PvP I hope this thing and autos in general get hit and stay mid where they belong. The easiest to use option should never be the most effective.

I got an Adept Summoner with Perpetual Motion and Onslaught and it's an absolute monster.
praying for your health, appreciate the upload, I was looking forward to your opinions on it. I love my adept summoner from my passage of persistence, zen moment golden tricorn. this weapon is so good with zen moment it’s crazy. good barrel and mag but reload masterwork is ouch, 4/5 adept roll for someone who can’t go flawless, I’ll totally take it.
I have an ancient clip from the trophy room of me comparing summoner’s recoil pattern to duty bond, an auto rifle with the same scope and rpm, and the difference is crazy. Feels kind of like an Ikelos smg situation where it *may* get patched because it’s got some hidden “additional tuning” or something.
4:58 if this was me in the air trying to shotgun someone from that range with that amount of health. My shot is 1000% NOT killing him. Idk how you did that but well done.

How has nobody mentioned that Summoner has D1 perk Persistence. That's why it beams after a few shots even with horrible stability.The only other gun that does this is outbreak perfected wich coolguy discovered has Persistence as well.

Oddly enough I'm having success with elem cap target lock. Gun's broken.
It's come to a point for me in trials that I just go into a match knowing I'll lose. Idk what happened, but since last season I just can't do well in trials anymore. Idk if it's the removal of the flawless pool, idk if it's because I main warlock, idk if I'm having a neurodegenerative problem that's making me worse at the game, but nothing works. Nothing. I got a half-decent roll of this weapon and it feels like the worst primary I've ever picked up. So why is this the only weapon I see in trials? Why can't I make it work? And it's not just the weapon, I've tried every subclass, every exotic that's relevant and nothing helps me past 1-2 wins. It's really frustrating. Something broke and I can't have fun anymore.

as someone who's played destiny for 8 years and counter-strike for 12 years, the relationship between destiny gamers and recoil and how recoil effects their experience never fails to amaze me.
i will add this little note about the summoner's recoil. i don't know if the gun's recoil is functioning as intended or not, it's very weird. as you pointed out in the video, the summoner doesn't have the bounce in between shots like other autos in the same architype or even different architypes. the gun is insane really.

great video! I hope to pacemaker is a life changer for you! I am a meh PvP player, I play regularly but am just so-so. Grinded a persistance card (I don't ever see a flawless in my future) and got a heal clip + KC/incandescent. Very happy with that, range is only 58 but it is goated. BTW I have one we ran in my entire D1+D2 time and it was from your Warlock + Phylotactic Spiral build LOL. Thanks!!
I mean if you are on mnk, crits are kinda garanteed on every gun due to bullet magnetism not just being in the game but cranked up to the maximum. These stats only matter on controller.

Edit: Excuse me what!? Just got to the 34 Stability Roll. That's pretty crazy seeing it BEAM at that distance! I've got a couple AR's with twice that Stability that aren't that kind of laser beam!
I wish other 600s had even half the privilege this thing does without being a world loot pool drop.
I'm tired of "Just use summoner" or "stop using 600 autos".
edit: oh, and seriously, losing last breath from the prophecy loot pool and getting no origin perk on gnawing hunger (nor a taken variant) is insulting

I've basically NEVER had a good Adept Summoner in the history of this weapon. Multiple different variations, multiple different sandboxes, every time I get one, it's some subsistence elemental capacitor bs. I'd been having an AWFUL weekend both in game and outside of it. Well, i got fed up with trying to find a team for the flawless run after having multiple flame out and said "eff it, I'm gonna see how I can do solo queue." I fell at the gates, I lost three straight on a five win card, and on my last card, I lost two straight on six wins before FINALLY lucking into that seventh win. I was playing negative when i was stacked, but solo i was low-key cooking. Well, I was rewarded with a three out of five with corkscrew rifling, appended mag, zen moment, kill clip/target lock with a range masterwork. I'll TAKE THAT lol. Fully enhanced it, and now that's probably gonna have a permanent spot in my inventory. Amidst a life that has been getting crazy for me, I sat down on the Xbox to try and get away from it all, and the RNG finally either rewarded or took pity on me and gifted me a roll that is more than good enough for me. Zen Moment is pretty hilarious on this thing. And the fact I can throw on Adept range or adept stability to make up for no range mag is awesome. I know it's not perfect, but I'm more than happy for this little W, however small it may be in the grand scheme of things
Summoner is good especially kill chaining by itself but Perpetualis is WAY better I won every dual against summoner in trials this past weekend. CoolGuy try Heliocentric QSC with Kill + Heal clip and Perpetualis with Cascade and perks more focused on range, minimum 49 stability.
Got a Summoner with Heal Clip & Target lock. Use it here and there and the times I did use it in Trials as a solo player, Heal clip comes in CLUTCH for 2v1 fights in PvP. Gunning for a few other rolls, but would love to get an Adept version with Golden Tricorn. So many good options with the perk refresh!

Those first bullets out of ARs... I think Bungie did something when they put deterministic recoil in the game. I had some old ARs that used to NOT have the first few bullet randomness that now do.
Also look at the first bullets out of Centrifuse. Viva La difference!

This weapon is truly broken. I played against somebody yesterday that had 72 kills in Supremacy. They had 4 supers (they were a hunter with Golden Gun) and it was just not fun. Every season Bungie brings out a busted weapon that they have to "fix". Months of testing a weapon beforehand seems to do nothing at Bungie, but they'll nerf other weapons because they're too "OP". It's super frustrating with their small-brained mindset on knowing something is broken, yet they roll the weapon out with those perks anyway.
Very glad to have gotten a 5/5 roll on my adept summoner, it was my like 20th drop but it came with a good barrel, ricochet rounds(which is a game changer), heal clip(for my precious scar, solar titan), and finally kill clip/target lock, currently I use target lock because rifts and overshields are rampant so it gives me enough TTK to at least tie in duels, heal clip always guarantees my titan over 75% heath, plus when target lock gets nerfed on autos I can swap to kill clip. I love this role, its my favorite auto ever since I was always an smg titan main. Loved heal clip even before the buff. I also dont think i’ll enhance this specific summoner because it is nice but I dont want to give up the ability to switch from KC to TL
I think it’s interesting how Bungie is consistently nerfing all the weapons that an average player has as a counter to these ridiculous Trials weapons. It started when they specifically hit Ikelos SMG and side arms after the Immortal Adept released. Which is still obnoxious by the way, and now they directly nerfed precision ARs which happen to be a counter to Summoner.
So, now everyone will have to ditch precision ARs and Crucible will be flooded with Summoner and similar weapons.
What they are doing to force people into the Trials playlist is so obvious and scummy.
Hey CoolGuy, don’t be scared! A coworker of mine has SVT, she thought here symptoms were “panic attacks” all her life until diagnosis. She got a pacemaker, and is currently monitoring her vitals with an Apple Watch to catch when she has an episode so they can target which electrical impulse is misfiring so they can deaden it. Things will get better :)
