Speedroid was the deck that gained me respect, for being a new player, at locals. When the first support came out, during Nekroz, I took the Maxx c challenge and nearly completed it.
This perfectly replicates my experience playing against Speedroid. You go second, you open zero handtraps (or they just have Crossout), you break their board, they recover because all their monsters have weird floating effects, and then you topdeck terribly. I still have no clue how the deck works, other than the link-monster seeming like a chokepoint.
Depending on how they open, it can be the Link 2 but either that or the Level 3 Synchro getting imperm'd can screw them up more often than not due to their most of their extenders being Tuners. Their chokepoints shift around per combo string but they really do dislike dealing with a well-timed imperm as one example. Unicorn can also set up into an early Baronne too while still keeping follow-up from Birth
Speedroid is basically every combo deck that's just below broken. Though all those GY effects give them interesting potential for a grind game whenever that winds up mattering, something you at least can't really say for most combo decks.
I was laughing at how much he struggled to break the board, only to realize his opponent had like 5-6 grave cards, and he could’ve gone an entirely different line also and won still lol
Wind synchro lock seriously limits their potential. They just need more end board options, because the 3 that they use in this video are your only choices lol
Seeing those guys complain that the cards have 2 effects, one of which being in the GY, is crazy to me. That's the whole meta, and God knows they're bathing in that shit.
I don't get why the speedroid player didn't make kitedrake to blow up the exciton in his MP1... Also, the deck doesn't play "garnets" because of the link 2, as long as you can make the link 2 you can play, even if you draw like dice or whatever.
I honestly think we are reaching Modern MTG territory. A couple of best decks but the general power level makes a lot of deck viable. I think it's fun! And it kinda solves the fact that yugioh has INSANE side deck cards
Speedroid is one deck I'm glad does not have a 1 card combo that isn't consistent at going full mannadium. There is the 1 card urgent schedule but that relies on luck to work. Anyway the deck sweeps synchro only event.
Speedroid Wheel is such a fun card, you can highroll with it and get insane high tier plays lmao. Wheel discard Duke roll 6, summon Marble and Piper, go for Stardust Charge draw 1, Duke from GY revive Piper draw 1, Baronne without NS. It's crazy how this is a +0 Baronne without a NS by activating a dice-rolling effect, while meta decks do this kind of shit all of the time
Speedroid does have one card combos. But unlike a lot of the other busted combo decks it can easily die to a good Imperm. That's why it's not as good as the rest. WIND lock is also kinda problematic but there's always potential for new good generic cards to support the attribute.
After the first initial Eunice hit about a year ago I don’t think the archetype needed to be hit anymore. The issue really was and is that nobody was buying these new decks simply because they ducked .

This deck can do some rather scary stuff and has the upside of "people don't know what these cards do". It's just that it also can do nothing at all oftentimes, relies on rng to some degree and likely dies going 2nd.

It's the Link 2 and the Level 3 Synchro in most builds, if any of those 2 resolve you are more than likely dead
