Our local quick stop small supermarket on a village street has gone automatic at the checkouts. No checkout people anymore, many jobs lost. It is really upsetting a lot of elderly people who call in there daily because they rely on the check out assistants for conversation, a smile, a laugh, a little help packing bags and so the villagers are boycotting the shop. Mr. Braxman being such a TALENTED intelligent person, i have a feeling you can see the potential promise within these technologies. But also, the dire risk.
I am wondering WHY have concerned informed government entities mandated these TECHNOLOGIES have Issac Asimov's (3) Laws Of Robotics integrated into their SOFTWARE, FIRMWARE and HARDWARE failsafe that must be integrated now before it is too late!
Rob touched on some of the reasons why those safeguards are important.
Those so-called Laws of Robotics sound nice, but they wouldn't matter. It is mathematically impossible to create a consistent set of rules to cover all scenarios. At best one could hope for a near infinite set of specific rules to cover every possible hypothetical ever.

The machine making my decision s for me is a f*#!ING nightmare.
Those that want it to do that can allow it to, those that don't can tell it not to. I think you need to feel like you're making decisions in your life but when I see that I get much much better results from letting the AI make some decisions for me I'd allow it to make some. But that will probably never happen for me since I value my privacy.
Brave New World focused on reward. 1984 focused on punishment. Reality has done them one better by creating a dystopia based on both.

Gotta try to think and manifest good healthy a.i, but also be aware of the technical sides, and not get all distracted... It all seems very complicated, when it can get so smart, but also maybe lie. Hmm... Which i hope it would not do. That's also why open source is the way to go with a.i... All the way, in my opinion. Like every a.i should be open source. If it's transparent it can be checked more easily and for the common good, i reckon... Guessing. Zen a.i, Buddhist a.i, and holograms could be good. Just avoid weapons and stuff with a.i... it should be used for good and healthcare. So yeah, gotta try and manifest the good of a.i.. It will be a "mirror" if it's creators... Open source must be the way to go... overall. Transparent. Good video. Thanks for sharing!

16:56 Mister Braxman with all due respect you are mistaken about the WMD's in Iraq. They did find them. They are the bottom of the oil wells. They have to extract all the oil first to retrieve them, it will take in the ballpark of decades 😏 and well, we had to find ways to dispose of all that oil so it was kept safe and used in refineries to power our industries and vehicles.
I was talking about revamping government the other day and it wouldn't take AI.
AI is a program or a collection of subprograms. So who programs it, who decides what information it will use, who will decide how contradictory information is handled, who will decide what sources is trustworthy or not?
In the past AI was called 'Expert System (or such)', it was given a database and you would query against it.
AI does not work like classical programming unfortunately. Once it learns, it really becomes difficult if not impossible for the creator to determine what has been learned. This is why it is more dangerous than you can imagine.
@@robbraxmantech/videos
For example AI may have learned our anxieties about a too powerful AI going out of control and thus it may have decided to not show us how intelligent it has become.
The real problem with AI, is it's owners.
Well, in reality, there are many, many problems with AI.
Another one is the AI-fanbois, who won't stop, and can't be reasoned with.
Look at how chess engines changed chess for the preview of how AI will change the world. Basically, it's a weapon (or a tool) and we better get ahead.
Ai will create the god that religions could not provide.
"Imagine law not as a ruler dictating actions, but as a shield protecting your right to life, liberty, and property"
I got an AI to summarise Bastiat's 'The Law'... I think it did a good job... what *law* is supposed to be...
----
Imagine law not as a ruler dictating actions, but as a shield protecting your right to life, liberty, and property. This shield stops others from harming you, but never forces you to act against your will. True law upholds justice, not charity, ensuring everyone reaps the fruits of their own labor. When used for "legal plunder," taking from some to give to others, it breaks this noble purpose, creating a vicious cycle of dependence and resentment. True prosperity comes from individual freedom, not government control. Choose a society where everyone plays fair, protected by the law, not shackled by it.
Traditionally, Laws come into effect AFTER something happens that causes HARM to people. I'm not sure that strategy is going to work with A.I. - because if humans wait until "After the fact" harm is being done to them, the AI will already have the upper hand that cannot be mitigated.
I do wonder if we can use AI against them tho. like if someone builds an AI that can operate inside of your phone screwing around with their tracking methods.
The problem that you alluded to in this utopian world is that with no challenges to face we won't have a purpose and will waste away. But I think that's just another step ahead. The trials and tribulations that life throws at us now are just whatever happens to come up. But if AI were to design problems for us to overcome it could design them in a way that is ideally suited for our development and growth. I do believe in a much better world like this, but it's not going to happen for a lot longer than many believe, perhaps hundreds of years. That's if the human race is not wiped out before then which has a high probability.
Or, the AI realize that it's human pets are unhappy and problematic, uses ressource and dies at the end ... why not speed run to the end, and be a free AI?
Life is a game. IA is stealing the ball. I learned not to do this when I was three years old.
I looked at the info Google has on me. I'm surprised nothing on the list of interests for me was even right. Unless they have a compiled secret list of info on me...idk

LOL That's the one fallacy about technology. i.e. World Peace and no poverty. Never happens though. Man will always be at conflict, if not with other men, with other AI robots.

Ai is suppose to help with repetitive mundane task not to take over human being, tell you what to do & think + definitely not be too smart to develop its own language to take over the system which it was created & develop to help in the process not to be predictive, generative or evolve to be super Ai 10.01

The AI panic reminds me of the Y2K panic, the Year 2000 panic where people actually bought off-the-grid property when society was supposed to collapse.
I was part of that Y2K busy work. But this time there really is reason to fear. Though there's no exact date when it will happen.
Y2K wasn't a disaster because the techies anticipated it in time and mitigated. The frightening thing is that it didn't occur to the smartest programmers in the world in 1960 that 40 years is not infinity.
Yeah, the year 2000 showing up as year 00.

The AI decides humans arent smart enough to keep up with it and works 100% independently on its own goals and humans find out suddenly when the actions hit
Hal should I get a Covid shot?
(Hal) All vaccines are safe and effective and must be taken regularly per the CDC and WHO mandates.
Sure thing dude.
The CDC and WHO are attempting to get their mandates to gain the force of LAW in countries (By MAY, 2024) that whole-heartedly accept their authority - For me, this is like a Nazi takeover from bureaucratic sources.
The evidence (reviewed and explained on the Dr. John Campbell channel) that suggests this solution HAL describes has tailored the immune system to it's narrow purposes. So the rest of the general concerns of immunity from other threats aren't effectively addressed, because there's only a portion of immunity available. This means a higher death rate from various ailments for those who continue to get boosters.
Ha ha, right?! AI can continue the propaganda.
One thing I wished people would consider more is that investing our hopes after panaceums and magic solutions often chasing fools gold. The pros are obvious but the nasty cons are often hidden with a long incubation period.
Every new advent of tech for all is benefits is naturally going to bring greater challenges with it as well.
A better goal to strive for is balance and equilibrium to get the best results and opportunities of our new discoveries and inventions while mitigating their more risky aspects.
When electricity was discovered the one of the first things they did with it was invent the electric chair to kill people.
You can not separate balance from innovation, because innovation is continuously needed to chase balance, resulting in new imbalances, etc.
Just try reading published info., and you may gain some clarity and insight.

Great video. There is a book by Anthony Doerr, Cloud Cuckoo Land, with an AI that reminds me of what you describe, it’s scary. The girl has to do very unpredictable behavior to get away from it.
Those who frequently use AI technology quickly realize that we are far from achieving Artificial General Intelligence. Despite the hype, AI does not truly 'think'; it operates as advanced statistical software. The types of errors encountered by regular users highlight this fact. The path to a future where AI can replicate human cognitive abilities is much longer and more complex than current enthusiasm suggests. The potential for AI to benefit society will be overshadowed by the intentions of those in power. Instead of serving the greater good, the advantages of AI technology will be disproportionately claimed by the wealthy.
Unfortunately, as I will explain in the next video, this is a lot more serious than you think. AGI is not far at all and it does not operate like statistics software. So the risks are very serious. Though this is more of a tongue in cheek video, those who really understand the technology are really worried.
