In 2016 the studio they record these at verified that they were all one take, and that they couldn't recall any of them taking more than four tries. They also said that generally, two of the four would just be them running through again to try variations to see what sounded best. The newest Evolutions are Rihanna and Arianna Grande, both have Matt but I think the last was 2019... I don't remember which came first. I know others have basically answered the question, but Superfruit was considered a side-project. It started as a comedy vlog when Mitch and Scott were roommates (at home and also on the road) and they were considered legitimate "influencers" getting paid promotional deals and whatnot. Being them, they eventually added music and that basically went in 4 lanes: comedy, medleys, covers and ended with 2 EPs/1 CD of original music by the time they put Superfruit on hiatus in 2019. The comedy is basically them seriously singing while not taking themselves seriously at all. We got some amazing Mitch vocals out of that. The guys singing Defying Gravity from the Wicked musical in half-assed costumes and their Frozen Medley with Kirstin, for instance. Can't forget their Hip-Hop Goes Broadway 1 & 2 (do both at once as they are very short!) where they sing (now fairly old) hip hop songs as musicals. Superfruit medleys are different from PTX medleys in that instead of focusing on creating the whole sound of the songs a capella, it focuses on their singing... and generally has a track added of Scott on piano and Mitch singing occasional 3rd harmony. They have some Evolutions, but their best are medleys of all the songs on single albums - like Beyoncé's self-titled album and Rihanna's Anti - and a medley FOX paid them to do of songs from the first season of Empire (you don't have to have watched the show to love that one). They didn't do many covers as Superfruit, but the couple they did are worth listening to. Feeling Myself by Nicki Minaj and Beyoncé tends to surprise reactors deliciously. And don't sleep on the originals. They co-wrote all of them loosely based on the evolution of their friendship and the songs are this innovative kinda throwback synth-heavy creation. Most reactors comment on how wrong it is they never got radio play or even a Grammy of their own. And since the guys are both into fashion and design, they wanted the visuals to be as important as the sound so 15 of the 16 songs have videos. Most requested are probably Guy.EXE, Imaginary Parties, Vacation, Hurry Up, How You Feelin'? and Deny U. Guy.EXE definitely leads requests for their originals by a mile... you'll know why if you watch it.
Love your reactions and the "Goosebumps" gets me every time. PTX as a group and it's members individually are so talented. They all have work separate from what they do as a group and I'm sure over time you'll make your way through all of it. Scott and Mitch do Superfruit, Scott also does songs with other artists like Mario Jose', Shoshanna Bean, Rozzi, and others. Kevin has solo projects highlighting his instrumental talents and voice. Kirsten has videos from her album. Mitch has solos with his angelic voice as well.
