I think the high notes that had you puzzled at the end were coming from Kevin. His high range is in the stratosphere.

The Popspring performance is my favorite version of Can't Sleep Love. The song they opened with, Cracked, was original. I think Scott wrote it. The song they closed with, Water, was an original written by Kirstie. She's a wonderful songwriter.
I thought Kevin worked with Kirstin on water? Please let me know if I'm wrong.
@@kimberlymathewes If I remember correctly, a few years ago she said it started as a diary/journal entry. Then she wanted to turn into a song and Kevin helped her finish it.

yes! what's so genius about that one is that their accompaniment track is not that of Lost On You, but is actually the song Time by Hans Zimmer which was written for the movie Inception
I love that Kirstie and Mitch played a bit of homage to Japanese culture here by dressing as anime characters. They remind me of a pop version of raggedy Ann and Andy.

Can't Sleep Love is another of my favs... In fact, their first all originals album is my favorite! I keep the cd in my car & jam to it all the time. The studio version sound is perfection!!!!
We know they are all super talented and there is no denying that, but I have my weaknesses, every time I hear Avi and Kevin they blow my mind!!! And Scott has an incredible voice! 🤯🤯🤯

This is my favorite for showing people who are wondering whether PTX is any good live, without studio enhancements. The sound engineers on this show were amazing. And I love to watch PTX interacting with the audience. Travis, the #PTXperience travelogue videos are fantastic this way too, although you don't get entire songs, just clips. I don't think that you would necessarily do reactions to them, but they are tons of fun to watch - you would enjoy them.
All of their original songs are really outstanding. All three of those came off their self titled original album Pentatonix (2015). Great reaction!

I accidentally showed Popsprings to my dad. He doesn't like a lot of new music but I can get him to listen when PTX covers older songs. I put on Imagine for him and set my phone down when my mother called me for something. I didn't realize autoplay was on and dad brought my phone back to me and says he didn't know the last few songs (he thought can't sleep love and the rap were 2 separate songs.) He was handing back my phone when the Evolution of MJ started. He takes my phone and says "I do know the Jackson 5" and went to sit back down and listen to it some more. The song changes threw him off and he brought the phone right back again
But yea, my dad who struggles with technology and "New" a capella loves ptx popsprings

Superfruit did a lip sync to can’t sleep love. They were trying to get it played on the radio and thought if they played it, then we could Shazam it to maybe help getting it played. Of course they couldn’t help sometimes singing along. Too funny!!!

Yes, this video showing 3 fabulous originals that are all different genres plus seeing Evo of MJ live is why I & others like recommending this video to those getting to know PTX. Great music, professionally recorded for great video & sound, & you get a small glimpse of what their live concerts are like.
This is the music from their album Pentatonix, which debuted at number one on Billboard. All but one was original and the album included Sing which you’ve already reacted too.
At some point, react to Queen’s Live Aid performance. It is 20 minutes so a little long for a reaction video, but so many of our young adults don’t know the brilliance of Freddie Mercury and Queen. Live Aid is considered one of the most iconic performances in rock history.
So glad you did this one. Really shows how good they are live. I really like Cracked and Scott with his runs! And seeing their Evo of MJ live is just amazing. That 20 mins flew by, thank you for sharing your time with us and for another great reaction 😊

Excellent reaction Travis! This Popspring video is such fun. Pentatonix as always delivered A+. All five of them .....every time. Can't Sleep Love is one of my PTX original favorites. The Popspring performance of Can't Sleep Love is great. All the tunes and tones and ear candy of the recorded version plus Mitch rapping. The expression on your face when Mitch walked with the microphone stand was almost as priceless as the expression on your face when Mitch squealed. Priceless! That Evolution of Michael Jackson is mastery of precision, timing and selection of songs.

I enjoyed your reaction to this awesome video of 3 original Pentatonix songs and Evolution Of Michael Jackson medley. Glad that you liked it. The whole concert was almost an hour long but MTV Japan recorded those 4 performances for broadcast. A fan posted the full concert video online. It is not as clear but it's still great. Kirstie and Kevin wrote "Water" along with another writer. They all write/co-write very catchy songs.
I'm so glad you reacted to this! This is one of my favorite live performances of them I've seen on youtube and it's full of such amazing songs. Water is my favorite off the album the songs besides Evolution of Michael Jackson came from, especially when Kevin comes in with those high notes near the end. Excited for you to do more Christmas music and hopefully some other live performances at some point!!

Just me here sitting here screaming SLAY QUEEN at Mitch during Can't Sleep Love. My pets are giving me the sideye.
Regarding the sound issues: not every sound engineer can do a capella and at that early stage in their career they couldn't bring their own.
So glad your did his one. I am also going to the concert in December in Grand Rapids. Did u got the VIP package to ? Love to see u there.
It was so fun watching this with you. I'm glad you waited a while to watch it, because you know everyone's voice and how they put things together. This was professionally done, unlike the phone recordings we usually get to see. When you see them live, the bass and beats sound much louder than they do in their videos. The last song "Water" I saw live, and it was a highlight of the evening. It was mostly written by Kirstie, with arranging help from Ben Bram and Avi and Kevin. The harmonies, Kirstie's lead, and the amazing backdrop were breath-taking. Every time one of those water drops hit, Avi shook the arena with his "BOOM"! Also, you made a funny face during the bridge, when you heard those high notes - that was Kevin! There is another live performance I love, their cover of Megan Trainor's "No". So the song titles are Cracked, Can't Sleep Love, Evolution of Michael Jackson, and Water, respectively. You should definitely check their original album (released 2015, I think).
Cracked (Avi & Scott collab), Water (Kirstie & Kevin collab), and Can’t Sleep Love (all collab) were some of their very first originals, believe it or not! Quite the portent of things to come! And you’re right, pairing them with one of their uniquely original Evolution of creations just made it outstanding. Sometimes Live video is better than Official video just for the energy or emotion. Wish I could make it to their December concert, maybe next time ☹️.

This might be out of the left field, but here's a new reaction suggestion for you: One OK Rock, formed in 2005, currently one of the biggest Japanese bands. They also toured in the USA, South America, Europe, Australia, and Asia. Their music ranges from pop rock, alternative rock, punk, emo, ballad, and a touch of country. Many people who usually don't listen to rock can appreciate their music because their songs are quite easy to enjoy, and many of the lyrics are in English. Their lyrics and music are empowering and inspirational, especially for the youth. For someone who appreciate great vocals as yourself, I think you might love this, because their vocalist is considered as one of the greatest rock band vocalists.
A short list to start from their live shows:
