I Have been a fan for years . The Build Quality, the comfort level . most of all the noise cancellation . In my opinion it's head and shoulders above the others I have tried . If I'm playing Hardcore Punk or 80s thrash then it's Grados, if I'm out and about is AirPods Pros . anything else the QC's . I love the new green ones , they are on the Wishlist .

Just left my qc45's on an airplane and picked up a set of the quiet comforts before my next flight. I had no idea what the difference between the two was, which is what brought me here. First of all THANK YOU for the clarification! I have to say two things though...
    1. I notice a huge difference in the noise cancelling between the two. Not in amount or quality, but as in I no longer hear a slight whirring sound in the background while using these headphones. Such a relief! They were pretty bad on my qc35 II's, significantly better on the qc45's but still noticeable, and now with the qc's I seem to BARELY notice that whirring sound anymore.
    2. By far most importantly and noticeably, I no longer hear a static noise or experience breaking up with the new qc's. My qc35 II's never had any issues with this so when I upgraded to the qc45's I was extremely disappointed and frustrated. I exchanged 2 different sets through Bose directly and tried countless "reset's" and firmware updates, and nothing. I just lived with it as much as I hated it. I loved the usb c too much to go backwards. With the new qc's this is no longer a problem AT ALL! Worth every penny and I'm almost GLAD I lost my qc45's on the airplane.
Hope these two points help others make a decision as to whether it's worth the upgrade or not. Thanks again for the helpful video! I would've been left scratching my head otherwise.

The ANC creates a pressure ear feeling and I find it more comfortable to turn it off when not needed. So returning the QC 45 for that reason.

  • @MikkoRantalainen

Looking at the Rtings lab measurements, it seems that the Bose QuietComfort Headphones Wireless (the new model) has actually less accurate audio reproduction than QC45. The new models has pretty heavy bass boost so if you're looking for lots of bass and don't mind the accuracy of the headphones, the new model is better but if you're looking for as accurate audio reproduction as possible, go with the QC45.
The ANC also has a lot more constant performance on QC45 whereas new model is good for some type of background noise and worse for a bit different background noise. The background noise reduction for the mic is also a lot better in the new model as mentioned in this video, too (the mic in cable helps).

wow - you contrarian ... ;-) interesting - yes as a quiet acoustic musician I have noticed many folks assume more bass means better sound - sure for dancing and shaking your booty, but is also a road to early hearing loss - an old friend is now wearing a hearing aid while I've always sought to protect my hearing ... I noticed the 700 sounded more bassy to me in a shop but that was with their sample soundloop to impress so I don't know about otherwise.

Big thanks for your effort and time to do this. You helped me a lot and I'll recommend you to other Bose users as well. You are clear, to the points, easy to follow and very informative. Another great video from you Sir, always learning something new and very entertaining
As someone who tried most of the over ear headphones you are absolutely right and let me add:
Bose nc 700 feels really comfy and stable on the head , after setting eq max sounds warm, decent base,
After trying the Quietcomfort was the chosen one and returned the 700
Airpod max amazing sound, premium built but too expensive and feels weird on the head , quite heavy too
Sony mx 4 and 5 very good anc, sound rich but Bose feels more comfy and less heat and found more details in songs
B&w px7s2 sounds rich but not as comfy and ANC could be a bit better
Momentum 4 unbeatable battery, very detailed open sound stage a bit too bulky for people with smaller heads and feels a bit too loose
Beats Studio pro very uncomfortable, rich sound, cool design and unique colours
My recommendation try them as they are all different and can be suitable for various reasons and individual preferences
Listening country type of music with many instruments, active base and rich vocals can give you a good idea how they perform
For example Wilder Path by Josh Gaulton
    Hope it helps
    All the best

    • @MarkEllisReviews
      @MarkEllisReviews  9 месяцев назад +13

It’s more refined, and the Ultra has Spatial Audio, which these don’t. ANC, there’s really not much in it, but the Ultras are slightly better.

      @stephanechamp 9 месяцев назад +4

@@MarkEllisReviews Okay thank you. I do not care for Spatial Audio and A-B tested them side by side, I could not find any huge differences. Since I paid almost half the price for the Quietcomfort than the Ultra, I kept the Quietcomfort. Also, the Ultra pair I had were cracking/squeaking when manipulating them, and the headband was also see squeaking when extended.

Honestly, my 6 years old Bose QC35s are like the old reliable of headphones. They just won’t give up on me, no matter how much I use them. It’s pretty awesome, actually. I keep switching between my QC35 and QC45, especially when one’s juicing up. Can’t complain - they’re both solid!
And as Bob Barker said “the price is right” (judging by its quality and long lasting)😂

My QC25 failed today after years of heavy use (this far I have only needed to replace earpads as they wore out) - from the erratic behavior it appears that the wiring from left earcup to right earcup has fractured😥
I'd love to have similar headphones (love the ability to swap battery instead of waiting for the charger, I'm using 8 NiMH LSD cells with it so I only need to charge the cells a once or twice per month and simply swap a cell whenever I lose ANC).
Sadly, nothing similar is available on the market. Considering the amount of hours I've done with QC25, none of the integrated batteries are going to last this long.

Me coming from qc35 ii to qc45 I felt like a downgrade because no option to turn off anc in 45s and when you take it outside in windy situation its unbearable to use as the microphones can't cancel the wind properly which was a headache but the sound quality after adjusting the eq a bit increasing bass and reducing the high felt good. Now I am getting the new QC just so that i can reduce the NC to the lowest when going out, If you are planning to use it only indoors or in closed environments still QC45 is great as it can be found cheaper in sale for around 250€.

I don't understand Bose way of thinking. We had Bose 700 with all the features and QC35. They moved all the features from 700 to Quiet Comfort and put it inside a QC35 body. Like wth?! I had both 700 and QC35, sold it and got QC45. Now i dont have voice battery notification, no next/prev treck buttons on the headphones. What's happening to you Bose? We really love the brand but you can't keep doing things like that. I am not even talking about LDAC, it's 2024 😅

The new ones are much less comfortable because the foam is too soft and the material is too hard, maybe it’s a cost saving, maybe it isn’t. The fit and buttons are still really good.

I have used the QC35II for 5-6 years now. And they finally broke on me. I am looking for a replacement. But what makes me hesistent on the newer models like QC45 the ultra and the quiet comfort. Is the inability to switch through noise canceling high low and completely of. Directly without the app.
    I have 3 questions.
    1. How would this work if I am using it on a computer? Would I have to pair it to my phone, change the setting then back to the computer?
    2. How much of an improvement is the sound compared to the 35?

I'm trying to tell the difference I have the quiet comfort as of today, I also have the nc700s, and I have the qc45. You keep saying the quiet comfort is better. But you did not define what better is. The only thing I've noticed with the new quiet comforts I got today is they have a stronger bass. Is that what you meant by better. I played some bass heavy music and it's definitely noticeable with the same EQ settings on all three headphones.
Again the only difference I can tell between all three headphones is when I play bass heavy music, the quiet comforts are stronger in that area. Is that what you meant by they are better.
As a person who would have had four sets of Bose headphones, I gave my qc35 to my cousin, because it was ridiculous having four sets of Bose.

Hi just watch you videos as I am thinking of getting these,
    'Bose QuietComfort QC45 SE'
I think the main differences between the QC45 SE and QC45 is the soft case on the SE.
Do you have any thoughts on these please?
    Thanks Gary

I have the QC 35s. But they are a little too big for my head even at their smallest. Would anyone know if the Ultra's are the same size? They actually have bigger dimensions but that doesn't necessarily correspond to fit (top if head to ear cup center). I called Bose customer support and they are clueless. Thx.

I just bought the QuietComfort SE and ... in the bose app they are detected as QC 45 - I can't use the other features in the app because it doesn't have all that for the QC SE - also on other iphone, mac and iPad devices and even on the samsung s23 my new QC SE was detected as QC 45, so what is going on with this, is this normal?

Well, I have all my order information entered, so thought I'd check out a review before hitting the button, then saw lots of crying over "channel imbalance", yet on here that term isn't even used at all. I tried these out in Currys today and they sounded great, but at 300 quid they need to sound great. I think I'll ignore the "channel imbalance" anxiety and go ahead with these.
