great video but let me add a suggestion: I bet you have a large monitor, but from lots of devices the video and font are reeeally small for comfortable watchtime, I'm watching this from my laptot that has a slightly larger screen than average and still see things pretty small, at least you could try recording with firefox fullwindowed, may even add more focus than having it there on the side, even thought psychologically the first thing people observe is top-left and stuff so you may have done that on purpose idk, still zooming would be cool.

When creating the server, "Location" says that there are no more slots available and you have to buy some. Unfortunately, it is no longer free.
You just have to read correctly when all free slots are full you have to wait for a purge etc. otherwise you still have the voluntary possibility to buy a paid plan.
Amazing video 👍, this is way better than Heroku, simpler and easy to use/setup. Sad thing is it doesn't seem to host/support C# bots 😥

Hello, do you know if we can use requests in any API/Website normally in their free plan ? My bot is created in python and I was looking to the pythonanywhere host, however, they only allow requests to a whitelist API's which is not cool for me :(

They're limited free spots. The same happened to me but you just can purchase two for two dollars/euros that's not much and to be honest it supports the guys. So its not a solution but a that's what I did and it worked perfectly fine.

Okay so if you don’t open the windows in your room then slowly the amount of carbon dioxide in the room will increase. So say a typical office with shit ventilation will have a carbon dioxide level of like 1300 ppm perhaps more, for comparison the carbon dioxide levels outside are around 300-400 ppm. Now we know that computer nerds don’t work in offices, they work either in their parents basements or in their tiny closet. And since they spend around 32 hours a day in that closet masturbating to twitch e-girls with shit ventilation then it is safe to assume that the carbon dioxide levels in that closet will be well above the recommended amounts. I would assume that these closets/basements will have a carbon dioxide level of around 6000+ ppm. Now, 32 hours in a room with a carbon dioxide level of 6000+ ppm will lead to confusion, nausea, lower cognitive ability and a range of other problems. My hypothesis is that computer nerds who spend 32 hours a day inside their basements/closets breathing out their nasty carbon dioxide the whole time leads to them getting brain damaged and thinking they are closer to animals than normal people. I will say, i agree with them, they are not normal people no more.

@@DashCruft When you get to step where you should pick a server (you had Germany), there's instead a banner saying there's no more free plans and you should check their Discord for paid plans.

hey, when i try to start my bot, it says MODULE_NOT_FOUND .I dont know what that mean do someone has an idea?
You need to install all the required modules of your code on the server.
the site needs the discord authorization to login but when go on discord the permissions that site want are:-
1.)can access your avatar, banner& username
2.) can access your email
that's what is normal but you need to notice one more point the 3rd one
3.) can join servers for you
that means they are stealing tokens of your account which not good I guess
If you were wise enough you'd realize that has nothing to do with accessing your account token.
1) Accessing your avatar and username is simply used for your actual account's username and profile picture
2) Accessing your email will make them create an account under that email address
3) Join servers for you simply means once you authorize your account they will join you to their discord server, where you definitely need to be in for important announcements.
@@DashCruft However when you leave the server, it rejoins, rejoins, rejoins. That's basically against discord ToS.
@@Chxrli3 It does not do that. You can leave the server if you want to. Nothing forces you to stay. But if you leave it, you won't get notified about purges which is the main reason why you even get pulled onto the server. To make sure that you don't immedeately lose your server again because of a purge you missed.
@@DashCruftbro 💀 it's OAuth2 scope in the bot that actually DOES store your tokens or else there are no other ways to make your account join a server after you leave them. Every server that sells not so legal stuff uses it lol.

It's not really about the unreliability because they seem to be updating their servers and are in maintenance. This issue isn't common.

hmm, the page looks a bit subspicious for me. When logging in it wants the permission to let me join any discord server (what I will not accept) and when I deny this, it says the join-scope is missing.
Also: Is it possible to add custom librarys? For my python bots for example I use "disnake" instead of "discord.py" and lots of other libs. How to add them?
It needs your account to join into THEIR server and it's completely safe. If you deny it, then it cannot register you inside of their system. It uses your discord as a way to log you in. I assure you won't have to worry :)
For your python bot you'll need to put all of your needed dependencies inside of a requirements.txt file and that should do it for you. (I think)

Also when I leave it directly it will automatically rejoin me, when opening the dashboard again.
Since I seen some abuses of the guilds.join scope on my second account (got joined in lots of random spam servers) I don't accept this scope anymore.
@@RealymanLP If you're very concerned about this which in this case you really should not, then I recommend authorizing with an alt account. That should minimize if there will be any risks. (But I assure you I've had it for a whole week and I don't see any abuse so far)

My discord bot folder is 507mb and I didnt even completed the bot, damn modules!!! Is modules included in the 1gb?? Cause only them taking so much mb! Probably is puppeter fault...
That's alot of packages you're having... Go through the useless packages and uninstall them, and don't rely on multiple packages to achieve a single goal as much as possible.
@@DashCruft It's because I came up with an idea to make a user cards. Using a slashcommand server friends can configure the card favorite games/movie and about me with a modal or view the own card or another player card. At begin I did it with just pure javascript/node js, but weren't happy with the fact Im new to coding and its very hard to place text in canvas and resize, so I changed plan and said, maybe I can make it ejs/css and then screenshot with puppeteer. But again since Im new and I don't understand a shit how servers work yet, I don't know if this ejs files and css can be placed online along with the bot, as the ejs card is using localhost:5000 atm. I mean, it work all as local, but when placing bot online thats another story! In any case i think only puppeteer is taking up to 250mb... rest are the modules installed default or so I think >>.

@@conquestinc The point you're missing is whoever develops the complex bot wouldn't look for free alternatives to host their per say complex bot. Also what does storing data have to do with this? You store data in a separate database not in a node process.
@@DashCruft Not everyone has money to pay for a server, let alone a server and a database.
@@conquestinc Firstly, you can't expect something to be a "Free" server that also meet every single one of your expectations. There are always limits, and if you can't find the limits suitable, then there are other options, such as making your own home server and MySQL database, or actually paying for a VPS. Secondly, databases don't always come paid. Look into MongoDB. Their free plan is great, but again, comes with limitations.
Companies providing these servers and databases would need to make revenue one way or another. No company is going to love you for using their free services.
For majority, 512mb of ram is enough. People needing more of that would be in the minority. The minority is not the goal of making this video.

Well, you can't have more than 1 server I believe even if you split your RAM, DISK, CPU amount. Just make an alt account for the other bot.

If you allocate all your RAM and CPU to a bot, you may not use that RAM/CPU anywhere else. Same thing with storage. You probably should split up RAM & CPU. I don't know about multiple bots, you may have to pay fo such a plan.

It depends on how large your discord.py bot is. On average, a discord.py bot usually finds that amount of ram more then enough.

I recommend checking daily and look out for purge announcements. That's when usually slots get free.

This is probably why they are running for free. They sell your cookies to ads agencies and they don't take any accountability for your wrong doings.

I just want to clarify since I'm still sussy about the site itself but. This is safe, right? I just successfully hosted my bot using this and I had to upload the bot tolen as well for it to run.

Absolutely. I can grantee you this service is not exploiting user's data and they do not have any intentions to mess you up. Feel safe :)
If you are worried, just remember that you can always change your token on the dev portal and remove the permission thing they ask from you on your discord settings.
Even if they decide to do anything malicious, it'd be very easy to stop.

I keep getting this error when i wanna start the server: ERROR: Could not open requirements file: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: 'requirements.txt'
And It says i need to upgrade pip which is already upgraded to the last version
You need to have a requirements.txt file in your bot directory and put each dependencies you've used. Keep in mind, each dependency you've used has to have a line break in the file.

Since you're using a python bot, create a requirement.txt file in the root directory of your bot inside of the file manager and put the packages you used for your python bot inside of it, each with a line break after one another.

As far as I've researched and inspected their website, they seem pretty promising. Also they seem to know what they're doing.
