I dont think he had an affair with waheeda rehman. Must be just a rumour coz 1966 he got married and WR worked with him till 1968. If there was an affair I dont think they would have worked together
He did have an affair with Waheeda Rehman. They were almost going to the altar before he dumbed her for young Saira. In fact, he was in numerous affairs with women who were not actresses. He had to go and console one who attempted to take sleeping pills on the day of his engagement to Saira! His love life in real life was no where tragic as we have been made to believe. Even Kamini Kausal was ready to abandon family for him. He was the one that changed his mind at the dying minutes because Kamini's brother shot himself on the leg. This was revealed by one of Dilip's closest friend, Chugtai.
