That’s an excellent theory! Archeologists believe the egyptian pyramids were encased in a shiny white limestone material, and that it was possibly looted and/or repurposed for other projects over the millenias. Imagine if the casing on that one block fell shortly after it was buit - well; long enough after the people who built it were no longer around to fix it. Then it weathered over thousands of years. Sea levels rose & fell, slowly lapping at it (eroding it like the sphinx of egypt). After the younger dryas, the rest of the casings either fell off or (more likely) were ripped off, as they are manageable (by low-tech humans) to repurpose - unlike the unwieldy megalithic bedrock it encased. It’s a fun theory to think about, but there are oodles of ways it could have happened that experts could think of - if they would only adopt Occam’s Razor and imagine (just for a minute) that what they’ve been taught isn’t 100% true and how “All things being equal, the simplest explanation tends to be the right one”.
These are limestone. There are also andesite and basalt megaliths at Lake Van. Matthew Lacroix is doing a documentary with Brien Foerster, Billy Carsen, and Paul Wallis on Peru, Lebanon, and Turkiye; if not for the conflicts rising in the Middle-East, we would also be seeing Iran, Iraq, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Palestine, Jordan, and other locations included because they all bear the same hallmarks as these types of construction. Same in Greece, Italy, and Malta. Going by some of his research (and the timelines/chronologies add up when you consider 'geomagnetic excursions' being a recognized potential cyclical cataclysm trigger) this platform may be 18,000 years old and predate the Oldest Dryas / Hilina Pali Excursion. Edit: Some historians believe some of these constructions were done during the Seldeucid Era. Some think they were done during the Bronze Age. I personally think they have been worked for many thousands of years and many evidences of the Ice Age inhabitants are long, long gone.
Interesting. What do you think the platform was used for? Foundation for a large building or temple? What kind of building would require such a heavy foundation?

This is a reconstruction of an even older structure. The builders left one block in place from that previous structure. That is why there is that severely eroded block. We do the same today, leaving a portion of an old building when there is rebuilding.
The really weathered ones might have been closer to surface area from which they were cut and that might have been revered,a natural formation of the area.
Also that super weathered stone he points out, esp. in the second shot, looks identical to the super worn stones on the Sphinx's lower level in Egypt: similar wear and similar stone composition! Exciting!

Imo, it's because of the size of the blocks and none of the cut stone is the same size and it is cut perfectly. But to me this isn't 10k years old, it's younger. Maybe 2 thousand years younger. They still knew how to cut and move large blocks but the nubs are gone.

The truth is, giant megaliths like these exist all over the world. All over. In China alone, there are thousands of mines, aquafers and tombs cut to a laserpresion level of accuracy. Blocks weighing so much our modern mahinery would have trouble with.
China has over 200 pyramids. None have been excavated. They told farmers to plant trees on them to hide them. Badly weathered stone could just be from a different part of the quarry where the stone is weaker.
Very similar to Baalbek. I wonder if that was how Baalbek looked before the Romans built the temple of Jupiter atop it.
A ridge sticking out of a flood plain is a logical place for survivors to congregate, waiting the eventual ebbing that would reveal the ground again. I think this ruin dates only to about 4,250 years ago, +/- 100-150 years, not "5,000", and definitely not "14,500 years ago" (a time we know next to nothing about, in terms of human involvement). Around that time, the Great Asian Sea was forcibly ejected by the arrival of India, against Asia's southern borders, then probably a thousand miles, or so, of marshes, fens, swamps, and wetlands, with large lakes, and inland seas, without outlets. The subcontinent pushed all else aside, as it snuggled up on Asia's southern side.
All that was disposed of in a short amount of time, by the "Tower of Babel" incident, or in plain terms, India slamming into Asia. This would certainly have been a "shot heard 'round the world", and one that reduced many, if not most, of Earth's civilizations to rubble. The outrush of water caused by the "impact" flooded the Steppes, flowing across Turkey , into the Mediterranean basin, reducing the Grecian mainland to an archipelago, and scarring that part remaining, before emptying into the Mediterranean Sea. It dug out the eastern end, the area between Greece and Italy, etching the Gulf of Corinth, before carving a route across Italy, to dump into the Tyrrhenian Sea.
When the basin was full, water escaped across the Provence, to empty into the (growing) Bay of Biscayne, and across Libya, all the way to the Gulf of Guinea, and across Algeria, to reach the Atlantic, near the Cape Verde Islands. The flow pushed the piece of England formerly attached to the European mainland away from the continent, beginning the opening of the English Channel, while Ireland, and part of Scotland rose against it, moving northerly, into their current positions. The changes wrought by these events redesigned the map of the world, but they were only the opening salvos in a "war" that would drag on for another millennium and a half.
It would not be the last time, as all the water was not expressed by the collision of two continents, predicated by an external force. In the 12th Century BC, another such "flood" tore across the hills of Asia Minor, ending the Mycenae, and the Hittites, among others. The world would be riven, again, in later centuries, but only a few times, its time of trials and tribulations almost over. By the end of the 8th Century BC, the "attacks" that had caused the destruction were over, only the reverberations that echoed through Earth's crust, in the form of earthquakes, still acting out. In Rome, around the time of Christ, more than 2,000 palpable earthquakes were registered, but by modern times, the number had fallen significantly, to around ten percent of that number.
