Favorite Songs: Part of Your world Under the Sea Uncharted Waters For The First Time Poor Unfortunate Soul Least favorite song: Scuttlebutt Halle Bailey's voice is AMAZING. So is Jonah Hauer-King's. I was glad that they gave Eric a solo. I heard the rap in Scuttlebutt and thought, "What the heck...Yup. Lin definitely wrote this." LOL. No offense, Lin, but it's not one of your best songs. I enjoyed Melissa McCarthy as Ursula.
The new take of adding Ariel to sing in the under the Sea showcases that despite wanting to go to the human world, she still loves her home. She just doesn't want to be restricted or trapped in one place. Just because we want to move locations doesn't mean we hate where we come from. I loved this new take. It's a new refreshing artistic choice and perspective. I loved wild uncharted waters. It really coveys what effects Ariel's voice has on him,and not only that, his love for sailing and him being drawn to the sea is a perfect parallel element to Ariel's part of your world and her being drawn to the land.
Thanks for this comment. Love your takes on both of these songs. I wonder if Wild Uncharted Waters will grow on me... 🤔 Anyways, top tier comment, thanks for expressing your thoughts so clearly! 🙌🙌
That is most ridiculous explanation to that. lol The writers didnt understand this movie and its not just that... other changes they made just didnt make sense. This movie was just a clear cash grab.
@@MARS0l Clearly you do not understand what reimagining is. It won't be exactly like the original, otherwise, it would be pointless... Keep the same energy for when they decided to kill the King in Cinderella from a disease etc. Or when the duke turned out to be evil. Completely different to the animation
@@koa1663 As i stated above, the changes didnt make sense. Ariel engaging in the song clearly defeats the whole purpose of Sebastian even singing the song to begin with, let alone singing along to it! Ariel is supposed to be completely disconnected at this point, hence why she makes the stupid decision in trusting the sea witch. Shes already at her end. But to top it off, she disappears at the end of the song somehow even though she was completely enjoying it. You are telling me she was enjoying the song so much because she loved her home but somehow dissapeard at the end without explanation? Its not adding up. 🥴
@@MARS0lHello, Original Little Mermaid fan here. After reading your comments it’s very clear that you don’t understand the movie nor it’s choices at all. I recommend you watch both the animated and live-action film please. You do realize Ariel isn’t pushed to leave because she’s “disconnected at this point” right?? You’re joking… right?? She leaves the sea because after her father destroys her stuff she has had enough, in both films. Ariel wouldn’t have left if it wasn’t for Triton further pushing his daughter away. That’s what leads her to make “a stupid decision” because it was done out of anger, sadness, hurt and frustration. Ariel never “hated” her home, she just wants to go more places and be free from all her restrictions and from hiding herself and that shows in both movies, even the animated show that came out in the 90s show cases that. I could go on and on about why the choices this film makes works, especially as someone who relates to Ariel’s story more than I can with any other fictional character but we would be here all day. It’s unfortunate that you misinterpreted the decisions incorrectly 😕.
They changed Scuttle into a Northern Gannet bcus Ariel is forbidden to go above the water, and Gannets collects things and put it on their nest, Gannets can hold their breath underwater for long time
I liked this remake more than most of the other ones. Poor unfortunate souls was probably my favorite part. I also liked that they included Jodi Benson in the movie. Really enjoyed your reaction 😁 Also 34:16 while I think the movie is just fine, I do think the songs are underrated.
Loved that Jodi Benson was handing over the dinglehopper! Such a nice moment. And as for Pocahontas 2, I think my expectations were so low that I ended up loving it all 😂 but yh, on the whole it's probably just decent but with some good songs! Thanks for commenting ✌️☺️
@@EdizAndBen i am not sure but all i know. upon researching. gannets may probably hold their breath or gannets can breath for hours(1 hour i guess?) or maybe just over a minute(probably 30-45 minutes) by diving in. can swim by using their webfeet like ducks, geese and swans does edit: they are like Torpedo since they resembled a torpedo when you hear the sound of a drop bomb. that is how gannet acts like missiles
Simple, Ariel sang along because even though she really wanted to go to the surface, the sea had an emotional connection with her and her whole life. It's "I want to go, but I still love my home."
Yh it was lovely to hear her singing, but I definitely missed it also being an ensemble number! And it definitely showed the "I still love my home" part of her thoughts, it's just interesting that they decided to miss out the "I want to go" part during the song. It's honestly so hard to watch the remakes without just comparing them to the originals 🙈 I try but I always fail 😂 Thanks for commenting ✌️😊
@@EdizAndBenBut they didn’t miss out the “I want to go” part of the song. It’s still there, Ariel looks annoyed and leaves sebastion multiple times during the song. She even leaves him when it’s over, it shows she’s multifaceted and just because she loves her home doesn’t mean she’s just gonna stay there and never explore other parts of the world. Even in the original Ariel smiles and dances along to the song but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t wanna leave lol.
@basebenthem1080 Ok so I rewatched it to make sure I wasn't going crazy and it turns out I was wrong... 😬👍 I defo missed her sneaking off at the end 😂😂😂 Thanks for correcting me even when I was doubling down 🙏 Gonna correct the video now by taking that little bit out ✌️😊
Fun Fact: She didn’t sign the contract in this one because in this Ariel can’t read or write, if she could she could just talk to Eric through paper which would’ve been boring yk😂😂😂😂
19:51 I agree! The fish have no emotions/facial expressions so it has less energy/personality. I do love that they included the Alvin Ailey dancers tho 👏🏾 they’re iconic!
I find all this “the fish have no expression” commentary very jarring because this is supposed to be a live action. I’d like to ask in very good faith if y’all would’ve preferred cartoony marine life instead?
I like this reaction, very genuine and not sugar coated!. My favourite aspect was the sisters though they had little screen time. I think it was very odd that the film didn't make the time to give viewers more depth into how or why certain things happened. Something I wish they would have done was implore people to read the book The Little Mermaid: A Guide To Merfolk by Eric Geron, it gives so much more context and understanding to the film. I really enjoyed this film, probably the best live action/CGI remake I have seen so far (though I can almost guarantee "Mufasa" next year will probably blow everything and everyone out of the water). The book details the reasoning for each of Tritons daughters, their respective kingdoms and how they came to be the ethnicities they are, and how their tails/colours/variants depict fish or species of that geographical region. The seas they rule over are fictional ( I will list them below) but are still based off of actual geographical locations in which their mother birthed them to adapt accordingly to environmental and ethnic factors. which is somewhat reminiscent of creatures we have today that can change colour and sometimes shape like Cephalopods (Cuttlefish, Octopus). So the sisters being different ethnicities is no surprise to me at all..especially considering we have fish species that can also physically change gender. Tameka - Fracus Sea - Clear waters, sunlit and vibrant, especially the fish life Perla - Piton Sea - Temperate very deep jewel like waters where merpeople ride elephant seals and orcas Caspia - Apneic Sea - Brackish murky rocky/sometimes icy islands and corals Indira - Brinedive Sea - Shallow sunny gulf with warm calm waters Mala - Chaine Sea - Abundant corals, islands, shallows and inlets Karina - Saithe Sea. - Darker sea covered with ice, Karina is also known as the seal protector this is probably irrelevant to some but i just figured I would give some form of context to that particular situation, other than Greek Gods were whores. Also, people tend to forget Ursula and Triton look different but are literally brother and sister, it was even meant to be this way in the animated original.
Love this comment, and love that you are giving a better explanation for Tritons daughters other than... "Yep, he was a whore" 😂😂 Me and Edz were discussing today actually how they could have used the sisters better. Flounder really lacked expression due to being a realistic fish, so maybe the sisters could have taken some of that on. Maybe some of them knew about her grotto but we're disapproving, but by the end of the movie they could all be joining the fight to bring down Ursula. It seems strange to introduce them all (especially now knowing how much amazing back story they all had) and then not utilise them in any way. Definitely a missed opportunity! Anyways, thanks for commenting! It was a really interesting read! ✌️☺️
@@EdizAndBen 😂😂😂 those Greek Gods really do be communal mattresses though. And yes 100% to what you said!!! Flounder had so much potential but some scenes he was heard but not seen, at one point my mum actually said “Where is that little voice coming from? Is the water speaking to her?” 😂. Also absolutely with you on the final battle too!!! Especially considering they all also have specific powers, add to that one of Ariel’s sisters is a warrior-ess and expert javelin thrower whilst another rides Orcas into battle!. Definitely missed opportunities and logic there haha. Awesome reaction guys, look forward to following more of your reactions.
I heard haliey almost broke her neck wearing her long hair doing that iconic scene when😢 ariel reaches the surface after getting her legs Also jodi benson makes a brief camieo in the movie handing ariel a fork The need for a contract was eliminated because if ariel could sign her name than why couldn't she just write a letter explaining she's under a enchantment and only has 3 days to get him to kiss her to get her voice back or she's dead
Yes I heard somewhere that it took so many takes and involved people under the water throwing her hair in the air to get the right effect! That's dedication to the shot! And yes I think they definitely avoided the contract so that they could avoid that plot hole! 😂 Thanks for commenting! ✌️☺️
Lol, we end up saying it's our favourite live action remake so far... So imagine the beef for the rest of them 😂 But seriously, if you want to see real beef then watch our Peter Pan and Wendy movie reaction... That movie was not the one 😂 Thanks for commenting ✌️☺️
You guys missed so many points cause yall wanna be shady queens. 1) Triton has one wife and didn't have daughters with 7 baby mommas. They are magical fish and come in different shapes and colors to represent each sea. 2) Ariel doesn't hate living under the sea that is why she is singing during under the sea and smiling she just wants to have the freedom to go above 3) Ariel and each sister has a magic power called the siren song as they literally told you but you still want to say "I call BS". In the book they elaborated that one of her sister's song call boil water, one can put people to sleep etc... 4) The bandage eric has on isn't doing nothing it's because Ariel's song healed him quicker, again if yall would actually watch the movie. 5) you guys just saying random musical terminology with no actual input 6) You complaining about ursula's makeup because it wasnt done by a drag queen... no drag queen is entitled to get the role of makeup artists just cause theyre queens. The artist said her makeup is meant to look like that as if she did it herself, she's literally banished and scraping by. 7) Yall are clear haters because yall said how terrible Eric song is then at the end you say you actually don't thin is bad you just want the song "your voice" instead which is very childish 8) ariel doesn't sign a contract so they can fill in the pothole of ariel being able to write and give Eric notes and talk to him 9) Your weird point about fish eating other fish being a plothole makes no sense. We are humans with animal friends but we eat other animals... mermaids would do the same even a child would get it 10) You saying how could Ariel possibly know there's a crystal in the rock..... a rock from underwater which she is familiar with as the movie has made it clear..... you just wanna hate and sound smart Maybe try watching the movie during a reaction it might help
Hey, thanks for engaging again 1) Someone else explained in the comments about the daughters representing the different seas and have changed appearances to match their surroundings just like some fish/octopus's do in real life. I think that's a really cool concept and it's a shame they didn't actually explore that in the film. I don't recall any mention of it but it's great that you managed to get that from what was shown (or was it from the book?). I especially like all the different designs of her sisters tails- far more imaginative than the original! 2) I think that's a valid point but I still think the original showed the idea of being torn between two locations a bit better. It showed her loving being under the sea but also yearning for something else whereas this adaptation just showed her loving it. So it was nice but I feel like it just lacked some depth. Edit: I rewatched the song and it turns out she does sneak off at the end. So I definitely missed that bit! 3) I think I must have missed her siren song bringing him back to life... It seemed like she brought him to the surface, shook him a bit, he spluttered to life and then she sang. So there lies my confusion. What does the book say that her siren song does? 4) I just thought that was funny. 😂 But now we are talking about it..., if he's healed quicker, I'm surprised they didn't mention something about how his wounds have healed so quickly. 5) not sure which bits you mean so I'll just take your word on that one 😅 6) maybe I didnt make that bit clear- definitely not saying a drag queen should get a job just for being a drag queen because some queens have terrrrrible make up skills 😂. I mentioned them because certain drag artists are incredible so I know they could have done a better job. Your explanation about her just scraping by is cool though. And her makeup definitely doesn't look bad in the final film like it did in the footage they shared before the movie was released, so that's definitely a positive 😊 7) I think if we were clear haters we would have kept saying the song was bad. We always give our honest critiques in the moment and are open to change our opinions if we feel like we were wrong or judged something too quickly. Have you ever listened to the Broadway soundtrack? because there are some bangers on there!! 8) Yep fully agree on this one! That was my reason for bringing it up in the first place so sorry for not making that clear! 9) so... Why is she shocked to see the fish on the wall?? 😅 10) lol yeah I was as confused as you when Ediz said that. 😂 Also love your shady comment at the end. "Maybe try watching the movie during a reaction it might help" 😂 We can clearly both be "shady queens".😂 Hope you don't mind me responding to each of your points. We love discussing movies which is why we started the channel, so feel free to respond ✌️😊
I unabashedly loved it. BUT... I 1000% agree that the lack of an ensemble in the big musical numbers absolutely killed the energy. Literally my biggest gripe with the film. Well, that and scuttlebutt, but i think that one was added for the kids, and it IS kinda catchy at least. Also, i think yall are crazy to think Her Voice is better than Uncharted Waters. I mean, they're practically the same song and i agree that it was pointless to write something new when the Broadway show is like RIGHT THERE, but... Idk. Maybe its my childhood crush on ZFron and the Bet on It vibes, but I like this number more. (Also if you listen close, they're playing Ariel's aria under his vocals in the beginning, so its like he's still hearing it/ cant get it out of his head, which was a fun little add.) I also really liked the parallels and the more developed connection between Ariel and Eric. (LOVED that the first shot we see of Eric's library is the same camera angle that we get of Ariel's collection grotto, and that they look so similar.) And the new name bit with the constellations was adorable. Overall, i think its the best Live-Action adaptation so far, on par with Cinderella, and much better than B&tB, Aladdin, and Lion King for sure. Its just a shame that the controversy and all the ugliness online pulled it down.
Ok I think you need to make a video on this movie because you are noticing some gems! Firstly I love that you love it but can still recognise things in the movie that weren't the best Wild Uncharted Waters- now I wish they went full Zac Efron Bet On It cheese 😂 That woulda been amazing! And how did I miss Ariel singing in the background?? It seems so obvious now... I was defo distracted by his vocals 😅 They definitely made Ariel and Eric seem like they are a good match better than in the original. I looove that you noticed the camera shots being the same. That is so cool. It has flaws but my goodness is it better than the majority of the live actions... It's actually... Wait for it... Enjoyable to watch 😱😱😱 Shocking 😂 Thanks for commenting- that was a fun read! ✌️☺️
46:00 yea….I’m ngl I saw this movie in theaters TWICE (bc I wanted to support Halle) and both times I thought to myself “Lin Manuel needs to take a hiatus…no hate, get to the bag! 🤑 but I’ve grown tired of this”
YES! AN HOUR WORTH OF EDIZ AND BEN! 🥳 I quite liked this movie! I think there's surely some truth to the whole Triton thing 2:36 (i mean he's related to Zeus who's known to have had multiple relationships so I wouldn't be too suprised) but i'll leave it at that 😌 Now I absolutely loved Halley Bailey's Ariel, she really has a beautiful voice and is so talented, she for me gave good reminiscence of the original vibes and still managed to make it her own which I find amazing and she looked awesome! I thought Scuttle/Sebastian/Flounder all were quite good, and had great voices, I'll admit, it took me some time to get used to Sebastian and Flounder's new looks, (Scuttle didn't really bother me as much) but I still thought they were alright! Triton was quite good too! I have to admit, because I ABSOLOUTLEY ADORED the late Pat Carol's Ursula, I kinda went into the film not wanting to like the new one, but I think Melissa did a fantastic job and I did end up enjoying it! Halle's Part of Your World was lovely, I think she really has a powerful voice, and I quite liked how she performed it, of course, Jodi Benson's original is ICONIC, but I felt this was a very good rendition! 9:14 🤦♂😅 i'll respectfully disagree... I also really liked Eric too he had some more depth in his character, Vanessa was fantastic and Jessica Alexander did a great job I felt! I wish we saw more of her! I wish we got to see Daughters of Triton and Fathoms Below! I also agreed with Ediz, it'd be nice if they put some of those Broadway Show songs in too! I do wish we got Chef Louis and his song it would've been fun! 12:58 😅LOVE IT!! Her voice was such a good song, I wish they put that in! (When they do Hunchback's remake, I hope they use some stuff from Broadway like Top of the World was beautiful!) We NEED to see Ediz play the piano! I quite like that they went with Ursula as Ariel's aunt, that was the original plan for the animated movie, it just answers alot of questions and stuff and feels more connected, I have to agree agree Be Prepared in the live action was AWFUL and didn't hold a candle to Jeremy Irons! Poor Unfortunate Souls was really intense and I loved it! UO: I dont mind they used skulls and skeletons in Ursula's lair, those little creatures in the original FREAKED ME OUT!!! I also thought Vanessa's song was great! Ursula's BODY LANGUAGE was ICONIC! I was disappointed they cut it out! I totally agree about the village song it definitly gave me those Pocahontas 2 London song vibes! yeah i definitly think Lin Manuel Miranda wrote Scuttle's song ( I love Lin Manuel Miranda but I wasn't a fan of this song until the end bit when Sebastian and Scuttle duetted) 47:43 that's Jessica Alexander, who played Vanessa-I do wonder what would've happened if they did kind of use effects and Melissa McCarthy's face in it! 😅 The battle was good, and I liked that they had Ariel be the one to drive the ship, i do agree with Ediz, the lighting was awful, we could barely see Urusla, I also agree Triton's fall looked super deathlike so bringing him back in the end kinda lessens the situation (it reminds me of Wade in Elemental) But it was a good movie overall I felt! Great reaction as always guys! ♥
Syed! Thanks for such a detailed comment! Good point about Triton and Zues... The more we know about these Greek gods- the more we see them as a mess 😂😂😂 so the many baby mamas holds up! I agree about Halle! And the side characters really didn't bother me as much as I thought they would. Jacob Tremblay I thought did an amazing job voice acting, it's just a shame the fish is so limited with the expressions he can do... Speaking about the Hunchback Broadway soundtrack... So much good content for them to use! Top of the World is great and Made of Stone is a personal fave!! Alsooo, I've read your comment in the middle of filming our Elemental movie reaction and... Wade dies???? Spoiler alert!!! 😂😂😂😂 Thanks again for your well thought out comment! ✌️😊
@EdizAndBen I really wouldn't be too suprised of Triton did take a leaf out his uncle Zeus's book! 😅 Yeah Jacob was really good! And he really did capture the essence of the original Flounder! But yeah I guess with the design they went for expressions were very limited, though we didn't see much of him, compared to the likes of Sebastian and Scuttle (and I get that they're both land animals, but I felt we saw less of Flounder, especially compared to the original!) Made of Stone is a great song! Oops 😳 so sorry about the spoiler 😬 But this was an incredible reaction video! Congratulations again on 10k! I can't wait to see the next video! 🥰 (sorry again about the spoiler 🤐)
@EdizAndBen thank goodness 🙊 Soon enough you guys ll reach 20k! It's been so cool to see how the channel has grown so much! I think I found you guys when you were at around 2 or 3k so it's been such a privilege to see how much its grown!
Polyps. That's what Ursula turns her victims into. Just thought I'd let you know. (36:14) It's official, Ariel plays Minecraft, since she knew there was a crystal inside the rock. JK
Polyps? I think I prefer weeeblings 😂😂 And Ariel being a gamer makes sense in my head! 😅 I can imagine her having a whole gaming set up in her grotto! 😂
That's just how we enjoy watching movies I guess. And I always see Disney movies as more family movies than just for kids. 😅 Thanks for sharing your thoughts, hope you still found some enjoyment in our reaction ✌️☺️
@@EdizAndBenso they took out body language because in the live action remake they changed it because this time she was doing it just to be on Land and not for prince Eric. Not ideal to give up everything just by taking 1 look at someone you never met or without getting to know them first, that made me think how stupid in the original cartoon. Because she did the same thing in the book because she left everything to be with the prince and he ended up marrying someone else and she dies.
@@tjhill8093that was all Ursula's doing in retrospect. She was putting those thoughts into her head even though Ariel said "but what about my family tho"
9:14 okay so I just went back to your Ranking Princess Songs video bc I faintly remember Ediz being against putting Part of Your World higher up and apparently he just doesn’t love that song as much as others (according to that video) 😅
Fun fact, the reason ursula is banished is because she's responsible for the death of ling tritons wife aka the queen because she likes to cause trouble between humans and merpeople So she really doesn't have a sympathetic background looll she is just a villain through and through
these guys really waited until the movie came out on disney+ just for this reaction. these guys are great ❤ also i know this is random, but you should make a video where you come up with new vehicle ideas for speed storm. i always thought there was a missed opportunity there but imagine like flying on the back of dumbo or riding IN lightning mcqueen. sorry for unrelated bit there but i FINALLY got speedstorm and have basically not stopped playing it lol
We did one better... We actually paid for it on Amazon 😂😂😂 It's not on Disney Plus for another few weeks! And I am actually loving Disney Speedstorm too!! I have a few video ideas for it but vehicles is a great idea too!!!
@EdizAndBen so they shot this in cold water so she was freezing that's why she was shaking. Also I'm sure she was trying to find a way to not cut herself on those sharp pointy rocks because she literally had to slide her hands over the rocks. I'm sure you and every other person would be shaking too in that Freezing Water.
I love that they brought dancers from the Alvin Ailey Dance Company to choreograph "Under the Sea." I remember watching Alvin Ailey's "Revelations" in my college modern dance class; they're incredible.
@EdizAndBen Sure it has flaws like the CGI was terrible(the underwater sequences) and the film is a tad bit too long but still it was a very good movie.
Out of all the live actions this one along with Maleficent and Cinderella has to be better than the others emotionally. You could tell even from the sea animals there was some form of intense, sad, and happy emotion.
A decent adaptation of The Little Mermaid. The setting looks and is used better than the Broadway show, but most of the Broadway performances are better. Jungle Book still owns the crown for best Disney remake, though.
The Cinderella live-action remake was pretty good. :) The RUclips channel Cinema Therapy ranked the Disney live-action as one of their favorite Cinderella romances. They have good reasons that make sense. Highly recommend Cinema Therapy if you haven't seen them before. :)
In this live action. Ariel is 19. Disney have aged her up a bit so that nobody would want to post any fbi jokes or want to boycott about her age and ruining the relationship of ariel and eric together.
@@EdizAndBen in the original she was 16 and disney had to age her up according to some few sources online and trying to fix all of it. Just so fans would know she is not 16 anymore this time around
How was she on screen for so little yet made one of the biggest impacts!?? So good! And @kosensolarstriker14 I think she would make an incredible Bellatrix! Especially in her younger years! Let's see a Bellatrix origin movie!!!
Can I just say when I first watched this and it went to that scene where he tries to guess her name, yes you’re correct I was offended as a Katherine 🥲
I think the"kiss the girl" song it wasn't portrayed well, i mean, they changed the song to ask her for consent, but she rejects the kiss twice in a row, i know she gets amnesia every time she almost get the kiss, but if she rejects twice, Erik would deduce that it wasn't consent that kiss, but the song continues to encourage him to kiss her, so that would be considered consent or harassment? XD Also they stablished that in the live action only mermaids understand animals, so that song would be pointless on the plot because it was meant to convince Erik to kiss her but he just heard random noises, on the animated one, Erik for some reason he understood Sebastian when he said Ariel's name Other point about the song is, on the animation, Erik wasn't interested on Kiss her because he was obsessed to find the "other girl that saved him", but on the live action unlike the animated, he wasn't obsessed and he was interested on Ariel and wanted to kiss her, so why the song is trying to convincing him to kiss her if he was already interested?
This is why old people should stop reacting yall are so petty and can't let go of things, halle is a better singer than the original. And our constant petty comments trying to sound smart about a children's movie is insane
First of all, my name is Katherine so thanks for the apology on behalf of the film lol and you guys already know how much I love your channel and your videos. Heck, I just love you guys in general(btw I am still teaching the I2I dance to my preschool classes). And I am the last person to be a hater on anything because I like to keep and open mind and nothing really offends me.....but I'm sorry, this was a total disaster. As someone who loved Ariel growing up(she's still my favorite princess and now my four-year-old niece's). I first saw it when I was 3 and Jodi and the character of Ariel inspired me some much so that I fashioned my singing voice after her as I grew(not even realizing it), I started collecting my own little treasures, I was naturally curious, and I love to sing and dance. I watched the tv series in elementary school and fell in more in love with her because I learned that she wasn't perfect, she could sing and dance but she couldn't play the sea organ and she's stubborn and sassy and sometimes helpless. I love that about her because I related to it. I'm tired of these girl bosses. Some girls just are not aggressive or strong and some are dependent and gentle by nature. Ariel was not one of these girls, she was a healthy mix. And stop making the guys blah, clumsy, and weak. I'm not saying all men have to be macho, I actually love me a sensitive guy but Eric was bold and he saved the day because he had to make it up to Ariel that's why he says, ''I lost her once, I'm not gonna lose her again." The original, the Broadway, and even the live performance were better than this movie. I have no problem with the race thing-- love Hallie and the rest of the cast is honesty okay, some of the songs bored me to death except for some parts of Under the Sea but the changing of the lyrics is ridiculous. It's just Disney trying to appease the woke audience, which honestly, I don't care. I know I sound like a horrible person but I promise you, this is not normally me but I am just sick of these remakes that have taken my childhood and torn it to pieces for now my niece to watch which are dark(lighting-wise), dull, have no depth, and teach the wrong messages. Okay, I'm hoping off my soap box. Sorry to rant, I just know that you guys would understand. P.S.- do not hide your opinions because they aren't popular, your real fans will stay with ya either way because we stick around for you two.
Ayyy, time for the haters to give y'all tons of views again 😂👏 This movie is a mixed bag for sure. If I was a kid, I'd definitely prefer the animated one because it's simpler and more visually appealing (and also like an hour and a half which honestly, can we normalize hour and a half kids' movies again 😂) Hallie Bailey's interpretation of Ariel as a human is different from the original (the original has a youthful excitement while this one has more of an innocent wonderstruck feel), but suits her and the film. She was one of the better parts of the movie, and her and Prince Eric being two of a kind in their curiosity about the great unknown was a sweet addition to their romance. A lot of other stuff didn't work for me. About 80% of the changes they made either didn't add anything or was better executed in the original (in my opinion ofc). Kind of par for the course with these remakes at this point. I do find it interesting how fired up people get over this one... I feel like the controversial casting that brought out some ugly attitudes early on against the lead actress has had an effect on how people received the final product, in that people who are on her side want to shield the film from criticism in fear of her being blamed, but really from what I can tell most everyone says she's one of the best parts about the movie. Also, Scuttlebutt kind of grew on me... 😂 I liked Ariel's expression when she's hearing the news in that scene too, strong non-verbal acting from Ms. Bailey 👏 Not you saying you're Googling and then pulling up Bing... you animals, at least call it Binging 😼
Here's a question nobody asked, if you eat a mermaid is that cannibalism also i wonder when their gonna make a live action version of bambi since disney so far has remade nearly all the films in the disney golden age era with Dumbo, Pinocchio, and soon snow white. So its the most logical step to make a bambi live action remake being the last film to remake out of the golden era except fantasia which i think would look great in live action though I'm not to sure about seeing a live action mickey mouse though. but what are your thoughts?
So we've actually filmed a whole video on this! (Which live actions are left... Not the cannibalism 😂 although maybe that's next 😅) We rank how likely the remaining animated Disney movies are to be turned into live action remakes. And as for Fantasia, do you think the 2010 movie The Sorcerers Apprentice counts??
Also, also, thanks for the reaction, y'all! Im sorry people snapped at your commentary for the trailer. The internet can be shit sometimes. Thanks for braving the controversy and still giving us your honest opinion anyway. It was a fun vid!

But also, it's gonna happen no matter what so just brace ourselves I guess 😂 Anyways, thanks again! Really appreciate it ✌️☺️
Okay, so, lets talk.... First of all, y'all talk talk talk during the movie is PLAYING 😢 at least when making a commentary, pause it, and then say stuff? So y'all dont miss out on details? And then complain later on and say "oh, this doesn't make sense! When was that mentioned??" Like its kinda annoying at times...SO many times y'all just do that, miss the details, and complain later....and what's with the nitpicking every 2 minutes? I get y'all dont like it, its literally a movie about mermaids, sea creatures, talking animals, magic, and stuff....things don't HAVE to make sense yall 😂 let me tell you, i was BOILING inside when the movie was Just playing and playing and y'all were just talking away... commentary is about sharing your thoughts, i know that, but if y'all gonna talk THIS much, then just make review videos, not reaction ones....this video shouldve been titled "Ediz and Ben try SUPER hard to stop themselves from saying I HATE THIS FREAKING MOVIE for 57 minutes straight" Thanks for listening, this surely is my fav live action ❤
Melissa McCarthy was the best, but the new songs I agree were annoying. Hated Prince Eric's song, and Scuttlebutt. But did you also notice every time Eric was washed ashore, it's shocking how his shirt unbuttoned and his chest was exposed. Were his buttons just dissolve in water? That end scene with Ursula, erm... I wasn't sure on it. It was ok but not in my Top 10 remakes. LOVED Every second of your reaction though, made me chuckle how Ben didn't let Ediz finish some things. You both bounce off each other amazing
Yeah... I'm still in favor of Pat Carol's Ursula from the animated version. As much as people say Melissa McCarthy is doing great she sounds like a drunk thespian on stage to me.
Honestly Disney just needs to stop with these remakes it’s just insulting to the originals and it’s sad 😞 I have refused to watch this movie and the reactions to it but now I’m watching it with you guys and it proved to me that I was right about not watching it. Super boring in the music numbers, and absolutely disgraceful to the original. I love you guys though! I can’t wait to watch more of your reactions!
1st sorry your trailer reaction got hate, cause, I'll be honest if I wasn't watching this with yall I probably would never have watched it. Because every time I try to watch a live action remake I was disappointed... and this was no exception. For me personally it feels like the re -arrangements of music is lack luster even if the performance is great the only way they seem to find a way to stand apart is to tweak timeless tracks and some how make it less timeless, which honestlyI could say about a few aspectsof this movie in general. Also the ocean's too real, because it has to be, it's not possible to be as eye poppingly colorful because real water has real murk not just shadow contrasting, and because of that it feels less magical. Once again, and I hate to be negative too, but I ended up once again wanting to like one of these movies far more than I genuinely did. But again, that's just me. Great reaction, once again you made a film far more enjoyable than it would have been otherwise.😄
Thanks for commenting Josh!! Yes it's the age old complaint with these live actions... Making a vibrant, colourful animated world life like means visually draining out so much of what we loved about the original! But I guess it can't be realistic and colourful at the same time 😂 And i was expecting to enjoy the music arrangements more than I did too!! I think it's best to go into them with the bar set real low 😂😂😂 But I'm pleased you enjoyed our reaction!! ✌️☺️
You know what, Melissa McCarthy _was_ solid, but I do agree that her makeup was a bit boring and that hiring a drag makeup artist would have been better. Wasn't the character originally inspired by drag performers anyway? Or am I misremembering?
I hadven’t seen the movie yet but I’ve been getting a lot of hate because of Halle Bailey to be honest and people have being calling me a racist which i am not, ahhhhhh i think Halle Bailey does too many runs in the song, I’ve heard some of the songs already but just to me she dosen’t sell Ariel to me personally, but i enjoyed your reaction of it. Thanks. This is a movie that I probably watch once and never re visited again if i am being honest the original still holds up.
It's definitely a hot topic. Because some people have been saying some truly dreadful things about Halle, I understand why hearing anything negative about her can be triggering for some people. So just have that in mind when sharing your opinion I guess. But as long as you know yourself and where your heart is then that's what's important. What's so great about these remakes is that if the new version isn't for you, then like you say, the original still exists for you 😂 I'm pleased you enjoyed our reaction and thanks for commenting as always ✌️☺️
@@EdizAndBen yeah i don’t want to get into it, but just people being bullies i guess, but i do know where my heart lies like you said, and i know who i am i accept everyone and i know i am not that, and i guess it is very sensitive and touchy subject as well cause people might like this version more than the original which is fine, but if someone disagrees with you then they’re just being rude or having there opinion that’s fine too, i like all of the remakes so far, but not this one, i will check out the movie for sure to see what they hype is about and for curiosity reasons. I still prefer the original over this movie but that’s just me. Yeah i did, it is quite entertaining i laughed a couple of times 😂 i think i truly needed it in a way, your welcome and not a problem, always love to comment and put my thoughts out there even though people have there own opinion of it, love to share my thoughts. ✌🏻😊
@@EdizAndBen yeah i will watch it for curiosity factor, but will see i don’t know if I’ll like it like, but I’ll let you know what i think afterwards. 😊👍
So you agree with Ediz then! I don't necessarily think that one is better than the other but I can definitely say that Halle has managed to make a beloved song even more epic and that is a huge achievement! Thanks for commenting ✌️☺️
SCUTTLEBUTT!!!
now that I have your attention, please reply to this comment with your favourite and least favourite songs from the movie ✌️😬👍
For The First Time
Wild Uncharted Waters
The original songs
Worst song
The Scuttlebutt
I was definitely surprised with the Scuttlebutt…”Song”?
My fav is prob the one when Ariel comes to the real world
Least fav is Scuttle butt😭
Scuttlebutt is least favorite
Favorite Songs:
Part of Your world
Under the Sea
Uncharted Waters
For The First Time
Poor Unfortunate Soul
Least favorite song:
Scuttlebutt
Halle Bailey's voice is AMAZING.
Anyways, top tier comment, thanks for expressing your thoughts so clearly!
They changed Scuttle into a Northern Gannet bcus Ariel is forbidden to go above the water, and Gannets collects things and put it on their nest, Gannets can hold their breath underwater for long time
That's cool that they chose a bird that collects things! Makes a lot of sense with Scuttles character!
Thanks for sharing the knowledge ✌️☺️
I liked this remake more than most of the other ones. Poor unfortunate souls was probably my favorite part. I also liked that they included Jodi Benson in the movie. Really enjoyed your reaction 😁
Also 34:16 while I think the movie is just fine, I do think the songs are underrated.
@@EdizAndBen Judy Kuhn is probably my favorite singer in all of Disney 😄
I think the voice actor for Flounder was also Luca, from the Pixar movie, he was the perfect voice actor for the role
How did I not notice that?!! Of course it is!!
And yes I thought he did a great job 🙌
Thanks for sharing the knowledge ✌️☺️
Aww! OMG I thought he sounded familiar. Perfect voice for Flounder!
Gannet birds only Breathe underwater for at least minutes or maybe an hour to breathe
Oh wow, they breathe underwater? Or do they hold their breath underwater??
@@EdizAndBen i am not sure but all i know. upon researching. gannets may probably hold their breath or gannets can breath for hours(1 hour i guess?) or maybe just over a minute(probably 30-45 minutes) by diving in. can swim by using their webfeet like ducks, geese and swans does
edit: they are like Torpedo since they resembled a torpedo when you hear the sound of a drop bomb. that is how gannet acts like missiles
@kosensolarstriker14 that's pretty cool, thanks for sharing! 🙌🙌🙌
It's honestly so hard to watch the remakes without just comparing them to the originals 🙈
I try but I always fail 😂
Thanks for commenting ✌️😊
I defo missed her sneaking off at the end 😂😂😂
Thanks for correcting me even when I was doubling down 🙏
Gonna correct the video now by taking that little bit out ✌️😊
I remember when "Part of Your World" was almost cut from the original film because it wasnt liked when it was presented to a test audience 😢
Oh wow that's MAD!!! One of the most ICONIC songs... well not according to Ediz lol
Fun Fact: She didn’t sign the contract in this one because in this Ariel can’t read or write, if she could she could just talk to Eric through paper which would’ve been boring yk😂😂😂😂
Haha, yh I've always thought that about the original 😂
IM WATCHING THE VIDEO AND JUST GOT TO THE PART WHERE YOU FIGURED IT OUT😭😭😭I wanna delete my comment
Haha, I've had a few comments like that so I started to think... Did I delete that bit by accident?? 😂😂😂
I appreciate the comments either way ✌️😅
They don't use the broadway songs because then they wouldnt be eligible for Best Original Song oscars :(
19:51 I agree! The fish have no emotions/facial expressions so it has less energy/personality. I do love that they included the Alvin Ailey dancers tho 👏🏾 they’re iconic!
Yes, such an inspired choice creatively!!
I find all this “the fish have no expression” commentary very jarring because this is supposed to be a live action. I’d like to ask in very good faith if y’all would’ve preferred cartoony marine life instead?
I now identify as a sexy crystal 🙃
😂😂😂😂
Tameka - Fracus Sea - Clear waters, sunlit and vibrant, especially the fish life
Perla - Piton Sea - Temperate very deep jewel like waters where merpeople ride elephant seals and orcas
Caspia - Apneic Sea - Brackish murky rocky/sometimes icy islands and corals
Indira - Brinedive Sea - Shallow sunny gulf with warm calm waters
Mala - Chaine Sea - Abundant corals, islands, shallows and inlets
Karina - Saithe Sea. - Darker sea covered with ice, Karina is also known as the seal protector
this is probably irrelevant to some but i just figured I would give some form of context to that particular situation, other than Greek Gods were whores. Also, people tend to forget Ursula and Triton look different but are literally brother and sister, it was even meant to be this way in the animated original.
Love this comment, and love that you are giving a better explanation for Tritons daughters other than... "Yep, he was a whore" 😂😂
Me and Edz were discussing today actually how they could have used the sisters better.
Fantastic! Laughed so hard. From sand in the eyes to poor Ediz being astranged to consent. I love my dynamic duo. 🥰 Thanks, Boys!
Haha, pleased you enjoyed it!
Thanks for always commenting ✌️☺️
39:30 my thoughts exactly 😂It’s all fun and games until someone gets an eye infection!
😂😂😂 Am I gonna have to bring my goggles just to dance on the sand now?? 😅
I heard haliey almost broke her neck wearing her long hair doing that iconic scene when😢 ariel reaches the surface after getting her legs
Also jodi benson makes a brief camieo in the movie handing ariel a fork
The need for a contract was eliminated because if ariel could sign her name than why couldn't she just write a letter explaining she's under a enchantment and only has 3 days to get him to kiss her to get her voice back or she's dead
Yes I heard somewhere that it took so many takes and involved people under the water throwing her hair in the air to get the right effect! That's dedication to the shot!
And yes I think they definitely avoided the contract so that they could avoid that plot hole! 😂
Thanks for commenting! ✌️☺️
I got SOO excited seeing Jodi Benson! Aww that was so nice to watch. :)
I don't get the beef yall have for this adaptation 😅
Lol, we end up saying it's our favourite live action remake so far... So imagine the beef for the rest of them 😂
But seriously, if you want to see real beef then watch our Peter Pan and Wendy movie reaction... That movie was not the one 😂

@@EdizAndBenthe best live action is definitely Cinderella y’all tripping
Never seen someone nitpick a children's movie so hard 😂
A childrens movieeeeee!!!! 😱😱
Get use to it... 😅
You guys missed so many points cause yall wanna be shady queens.
1) Triton has one wife and didn't have daughters with 7 baby mommas. They are magical fish and come in different shapes and colors to represent each sea.
2) Ariel doesn't hate living under the sea that is why she is singing during under the sea and smiling she just wants to have the freedom to go above
3) Ariel and each sister has a magic power called the siren song as they literally told you but you still want to say "I call BS". In the book they elaborated that one of her sister's song call boil water, one can put people to sleep etc...
4) The bandage eric has on isn't doing nothing it's because Ariel's song healed him quicker, again if yall would actually watch the movie.
5) you guys just saying random musical terminology with no actual input
6) You complaining about ursula's makeup because it wasnt done by a drag queen... no drag queen is entitled to get the role of makeup artists just cause theyre queens. The artist said her makeup is meant to look like that as if she did it herself, she's literally banished and scraping by.
7) Yall are clear haters because yall said how terrible Eric song is then at the end you say you actually don't thin is bad you just want the song "your voice" instead which is very childish
8) ariel doesn't sign a contract so they can fill in the pothole of ariel being able to write and give Eric notes and talk to him
9) Your weird point about fish eating other fish being a plothole makes no sense. We are humans with animal friends but we eat other animals... mermaids would do the same even a child would get it
10) You saying how could Ariel possibly know there's a crystal in the rock..... a rock from underwater which she is familiar with as the movie has made it clear..... you just wanna hate and sound smart
Maybe try watching the movie during a reaction it might help
Hey, thanks for engaging again
1) Someone else explained in the comments about the daughters representing the different seas and have changed appearances to match their surroundings just like some fish/octopus's do in real life.
5) not sure which bits you mean so I'll just take your word on that one 😅
6) maybe I didnt make that bit clear- definitely not saying a drag queen should get a job just for being a drag queen because some queens have terrrrrible make up skills 😂. I mentioned them because certain drag artists are incredible so I know they could have done a better job. Your explanation about her just scraping by is cool though. And her makeup definitely doesn't look bad in the final film like it did in the footage they shared before the movie was released, so that's definitely a positive 😊
7) I think if we were clear haters we would have kept saying the song was bad.
10) lol yeah I was as confused as you when Ediz said that. 😂
Also love your shady comment at the end. "Maybe try watching the movie during a reaction it might help" 😂 We can clearly both be "shady queens".😂
Hope you don't mind me responding to each of your points. We love discussing movies which is why we started the channel, so feel free to respond ✌️😊
Thank you. Cause this whole thing was annoying.
@@djjavonn6777 it’s just very easy to follow along if people watch it
I unabashedly loved it. (Also if you listen close, they're playing Ariel's aria under his vocals in the beginning, so its like he's still hearing it/ cant get it out of his head, which was a fun little add.)
I also really liked the parallels and the more developed connection between Ariel and Eric.
Firstly I love that you love it but can still recognise things in the movie that weren't the best
Wild Uncharted Waters- now I wish they went full Zac Efron Bet On It cheese 😂 That woulda been amazing!
And how did I miss Ariel singing in the background?? It seems so obvious now... I was defo distracted by his vocals 😅
They definitely made Ariel and Eric seem like they are a good match better than in the original. I looove that you noticed the camera shots being the same. That is so cool.
It has flaws but my goodness is it better than the majority of the live actions... It's actually... Wait for it... Enjoyable to watch 😱😱😱 Shocking 😂
Thanks for commenting- that was a fun read! ✌️☺️
46:00 yea….I’m ngl I saw this movie in theaters TWICE (bc I wanted to support Halle) and both times I thought to myself “Lin Manuel needs to take a hiatus…no hate, get to the bag! 🤑 but I’ve grown tired of this”
Never thought I'd say this about my man Lin but.... yh, let some one else give it a go for a bit 😬😬😬😬😬😬
Also love that you saw it twice to support Halle 🥰
27:18 actually she looked like the Fairy Godmother of Shrek 2, i saw memes of at some point of the movie she's going to start singing "I need a hero"
YES! AN HOUR WORTH OF EDIZ AND BEN! 🥳
I quite liked this movie!
I think there's surely some truth to the whole Triton thing 2:36 (i mean he's related to Zeus who's known to have had multiple relationships so I wouldn't be too suprised) but i'll leave it at that 😌
Now I absolutely loved Halley Bailey's Ariel, she really has a beautiful voice and is so talented, she for me gave good reminiscence of the original vibes and still managed to make it her own which I find amazing and she looked awesome!
I also really liked Eric too he had some more depth in his character,
Vanessa was fantastic and Jessica Alexander did a great job I felt!
(When they do Hunchback's remake, I hope they use some stuff from Broadway like Top of the World was beautiful!)
We NEED to see Ediz play the piano!
I quite like that they went with Ursula as Ariel's aunt, that was the original plan for the animated movie, it just answers alot of questions and stuff and feels more connected,
I have to agree agree Be Prepared in the live action was AWFUL and didn't hold a candle to Jeremy Irons!
I totally agree about the village song it definitly gave me those Pocahontas 2 London song vibes!
yeah i definitly think Lin Manuel Miranda wrote Scuttle's song ( I love Lin Manuel Miranda but I wasn't a fan of this song until the end bit when Sebastian and Scuttle duetted)
47:43 that's Jessica Alexander, who played Vanessa-I do wonder what would've happened if they did kind of use effects and Melissa McCarthy's face in it! 😅
The battle was good, and I liked that they had Ariel be the one to drive the ship, i do agree with Ediz, the lighting was awful, we could barely see Urusla,
I also agree Triton's fall looked super deathlike so bringing him back in the end kinda lessens the situation (it reminds me of Wade in Elemental)
But it was a good movie overall I felt!
Thanks again for your well thought out comment!
✌️😊
@EdizAndBen
I really wouldn't be too suprised of Triton did take a leaf out his uncle Zeus's book! 😅
Yeah Jacob was really good! And he really did capture the essence of the original Flounder! But yeah I guess with the design they went for expressions were very limited, though we didn't see much of him, compared to the likes of Sebastian and Scuttle (and I get that they're both land animals, but I felt we saw less of Flounder, especially compared to the original!)
Made of Stone is a great song!

And Ariel being a gamer makes sense in my head! 😅 I can imagine her having a whole gaming set up in her grotto! 😂
Chaotic indeed. What’s the point of questioning everything in a child’s movie…it’s literally a children’s movie.
That's just how we enjoy watching movies I guess. And I always see Disney movies as more family movies than just for kids. 😅
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, hope you still found some enjoyment in our reaction ✌️☺️
Genuinely made it hard to watch by the constant nitpicking. "Why is she singing?" It's a musical what do you expect?
@@EdizAndBenso they took out body language because in the live action remake they changed it because this time she was doing it just to be on Land and not for prince Eric. Not ideal to give up everything just by taking 1 look at someone you never met or without getting to know them first, that made me think how stupid in the original cartoon. Because she did the same thing in the book because she left everything to be with the prince and he ended up marrying someone else and she dies.
Right. Both look like some rats too.
Yh some people have weird opinions 😂😂
That video seems like forever ago! Would be so strange watching it now 😅
Fun fact, the reason ursula is banished is because she's responsible for the death of ling tritons wife aka the queen because she likes to cause trouble between humans and merpeople
So she really doesn't have a sympathetic background looll she is just a villain through and through
these guys really waited until the movie came out on disney+ just for this reaction. these guys are great ❤
also i know this is random, but you should make a video where you come up with new vehicle ideas for speed storm. i always thought there was a missed opportunity there but imagine like flying on the back of dumbo or riding IN lightning mcqueen. sorry for unrelated bit there but i FINALLY got speedstorm and have basically not stopped playing it lol
We did one better... We actually paid for it on Amazon 😂😂😂
It's not on Disney Plus for another few weeks!
And I am actually loving Disney Speedstorm too!! I have a few video ideas for it but vehicles is a great idea too!!!
14:37 I’m so glad I wasn’t the only one who thought that was a bit awkward 😂 & it looked like it was kinda painful for her hands!
Riiight! I wanna see the shot from a different angle to get to the bottom of this mystery! 😂
“The fish couldn’t leave the house”
“They had masks on”
“Right”
“Maybe that’s why”
… this bit had me laughing so hard 😂
2:30 I thought about that too! 😂 He’s kinda like a less insane version of Ego from The Guardians of the Galaxy lol
Haha, I'm not sure if that's what their intention was... Buts it's definitely how it comes across 😂🤔😂
I love that they brought dancers from the Alvin Ailey Dance Company to choreograph "Under the Sea." I remember watching Alvin Ailey's "Revelations" in my college modern dance class; they're incredible.
My favourite film of 2023.
I can see why!
They removed the Comte at because there was a plot hole.
Ariel should’ve been able to tell Eric everything if she could sign a contract
A decent adaptation of The Little Mermaid. The setting looks and is used better than the Broadway show, but most of the Broadway performances are better.
Jungle Book still owns the crown for best Disney remake, though.
I just wish they would incorporate the Broadway shows more... But yeah, this was decent 😅
And Jungle Book is definitely near the top of my list too!
@@EdizAndBenwhy do the animals show emotion in the jungle book live action remake?
The Cinderella live-action remake was pretty good. :)
The RUclips channel Cinema Therapy ranked the Disney live-action as one of their favorite Cinderella romances. They have good reasons that make sense. Highly recommend Cinema Therapy if you haven't seen them before. :)
1st favorite live action flim is aladdin 2nd is the lion king
Edit: thanks for 5 likes
Aladdin is definitely one of the better live actions!
Thanks for commenting ✌️☺️
Your welcome ediz and ben your the best

Hey Ediz and Ben, love your vids. I was just wondering, do you take video requests because I have one. If not, that's okay 👍
Hey! We are always open to suggestions... although... we do have a whole bunch of videos on our to-do list 😬😅
Wait where did my comment go😂
In this live action. Ariel is 19. Disney have aged her up a bit so that nobody would want to post any fbi jokes or want to boycott about her age and ruining the relationship of ariel and eric together.
That actually makes a lot of sense... I wonder why they don't mention it in the movie 🤔
@@EdizAndBen in the original she was 16 and disney had to age her up according to some few sources online and trying to fix all of it. Just so fans would know she is not 16 anymore this time around
47:32 AGREED 😍 & 53:20 tbh Vanessa was one of my stand outs! Jessica Alexander wasn’t on screen long but she did a GREAT job portraying the character!
I would wonder if she ever cast as mystique for mcu x men or bellatrix in fantastic beast 4 film
How was she on screen for so little yet made one of the biggest impacts!?? So good!
And @kosensolarstriker14 I think she would make an incredible Bellatrix! Especially in her younger years! Let's see a Bellatrix origin movie!!!
Be prepared wasn’t even meant to be in the live action version at all, it was a last minute edition.
Yh it shows 😬😅
Lol I was laughing at that Jurassic Park reference. Cuz it was spot on!!! 😂
I hate how they took away body language
ARIEL AS INKLING🔛🔝(I’m trying to remind you of Super Smash Bros because I have the patience of a toddler)

Can I just say when I first watched this and it went to that scene where he tries to guess her name, yes you’re correct I was offended as a Katherine 🥲
24:23 they don’t hate broadway shows because I recall Evermore from live action beauty and the beast was a broadway song from the stage version
Evermore was a new song for the movie. The songs that's similar from the Broadway show is maybe "If I Can't Love Her"
I think the"kiss the girl" song it wasn't portrayed well, i mean, they changed the song to ask her for consent, but she rejects the kiss twice in a row, i know she gets amnesia every time she almost get the kiss, but if she rejects twice, Erik would deduce that it wasn't consent that kiss, but the song continues to encourage him to kiss her, so that would be considered consent or harassment? XD
Also they stablished that in the live action only mermaids understand animals, so that song would be pointless on the plot because it was meant to convince Erik to kiss her but he just heard random noises, on the animated one, Erik for some reason he understood Sebastian when he said Ariel's name
Other point about the song is, on the animation, Erik wasn't interested on Kiss her because he was obsessed to find the "other girl that saved him", but on the live action unlike the animated, he wasn't obsessed and he was interested on Ariel and wanted to kiss her, so why the song is trying to convincing him to kiss her if he was already interested?
what neighborhood is their accents from, it’s so soothing espc the dude in the yellow
That's a crystal😂
31:57 yea…WHAT KINDA THINGS SIR?? 😏
Some questions are best left unanswered 😂
This is why old people should stop reacting yall are so petty and can't let go of things, halle is a better singer than the original. And our constant petty comments trying to sound smart about a children's movie is insane
Not old people... 😂😂😂😂😂
I agree with this comment so much! It's literally a movie with MAGICAL CREATURES AND MERMAIDS WITH TALKING ANIMALS! things don't HAVE to make sense!
51:46 at this point i LITERALLY unsubscribed.... LITERALLY
Ayyy, time for the haters to give y'all tons of views again 😂👏
This movie is a mixed bag for sure.
Bailey 👏
Not you saying you're Googling and then pulling up Bing... you animals, at least call it Binging 😼
My 2 favorite live action movies are little Marmaid 1st and Pinocchio2nd
And don't be mad at me I like Pinocchio
I can't be mad because I'm not even sure what I would put in second place 😅
People who think Eric is dressed/ looks like Flynn/Eugene --->
25:50 i read that she's 18 on this movie
Chaotic to say the least, let the long hair guy speak my dude lol
Here's a question nobody asked, if you eat a mermaid is that cannibalism
also i wonder when their gonna make a live action version of bambi since disney so far has remade nearly all the films in the disney golden age era with Dumbo, Pinocchio, and soon snow white.
Not the cannibalism 😂 although maybe that's next 😅)
We rank how likely the remaining animated Disney movies are to be turned into live action remakes. And as for Fantasia, do you think the 2010 movie The Sorcerers Apprentice counts??
46:15 SA2 Amy moment
Also, also, thanks for the reaction, y'all! Im sorry people snapped at your commentary for the trailer. The internet can be shit sometimes. Thanks for braving the controversy and still giving us your honest opinion anyway. It was a fun vid!
Oh wow, this is our first ever Super Thanks so thank you very much!🥳🥳🥳
We really appreciate your generosity 🙏
And with the trailer reaction it was actually a good learning curve for us. We can't control how people will react to our content, so we have to make sure that what we post is a good representation of how we feel. It's so easy to get the wrong end of the stick online, so we have to make sure we are as clear as possible... But also, it's gonna happen no matter what so just brace ourselves I guess 😂
Anyways, thanks again! Really appreciate it ✌️☺️
YEEES!!!, THANK YOU😇😎💖
You're most welcome 💖💖💖
Vanessa is played by Jessica Alexander. She is in this movie for 5 minutes and stole every scene!
I get y'all dont like it, its literally a movie about mermaids, sea creatures, talking animals, magic, and stuff....things don't HAVE to make sense yall 😂 let me tell you, i was BOILING inside when the movie was Just playing and playing and y'all were just talking away... commentary is about sharing your thoughts, i know that, but if y'all gonna talk THIS much, then just make review videos, not reaction ones....this video shouldve been titled "Ediz and Ben try SUPER hard to stop themselves from saying I HATE THIS FREAKING MOVIE for 57 minutes straight"
Thanks for listening, this surely is my fav live action ❤
Melissa McCarthy was the best, but the new songs I agree were annoying. Hated Prince Eric's song, and Scuttlebutt. But did you also notice every time Eric was washed ashore, it's shocking how his shirt unbuttoned and his chest was exposed. Were his buttons just dissolve in water? That end scene with Ursula, erm... I wasn't sure on it. It was ok but not in my Top 10 remakes. LOVED Every second of your reaction though, made me chuckle how Ben didn't let Ediz finish some things. You both bounce off each other amazing
Not even in your top 10 remakes???
Now I want to know the full list 😅😅
@@EdizAndBen to be honest, it might be in a top 10, as I don't think they've done that many live action remakes right? I did... enjoy Aladdin...
😂😂 I think they've done about 15 at this point. But would be surprised if you could name 10 better than the little mermaid 😂
@@EdizAndBen is this a challenge? lol I think the biggest challenge is naming all 15 :D
I watched the full Broadway one on RUclips lol
Disney Descendants Reactions?
Yeah... I'm still in favor of Pat Carol's Ursula from the animated version. As much as people say Melissa McCarthy is doing great she sounds like a drunk thespian on stage to me.
My name is Kathleen my friends call me Kathy 😅
Honestly Disney just needs to stop with these remakes it’s just insulting to the originals and it’s sad 😞 I have refused to watch this movie and the reactions to it but now I’m watching it with you guys and it proved to me that I was right about not watching it. Super boring in the music numbers, and absolutely disgraceful to the original. I love you guys though! I can’t wait to watch more of your reactions!

Oh that’s how it ends…..I fell asleep in the cinema 20 mins before the end :-s

But I guess it can't be realistic and colourful at the same time 😂
And i was expecting to enjoy the music arrangements more than I did too!!
I think it's best to go into them with the bar set real low 😂😂😂
But I'm pleased you enjoyed our reaction!! ✌️☺️
@EdizAndBen I always enjoy, y'all kick ass. ❤️
You know what, Melissa McCarthy _was_ solid, but I do agree that her makeup was a bit boring and that hiring a drag makeup artist would have been better. Wasn't the character originally inspired by drag performers anyway? Or am I misremembering?
Yeah, her character is specifically inspired by the drag queen, Divine!
What's so great about these remakes is that if the new version isn't for you, then like you say, the original still exists for you 😂
I'm pleased you enjoyed our reaction and thanks for commenting as always ✌️☺️

Awful remake 😖
All I know is I hope you're not talking **** about Halle. I disagree. Halle Bailey is a better singer than The original. That's the truth.
So you agree with Ediz then! I don't necessarily think that one is better than the other but I can definitely say that Halle has managed to make a beloved song even more epic and that is a huge achievement!
