And on this day he passed to the next destination. May he Rest in Peace. Solace and strength to his family and those millions who shall miss him forever. I absolutely loved him. That Steve Beat. Thanks for the music. All of it. Alicia Myburgh (74)
It’s 2024 and this song still gives me goosebumps when I listen to and it brings back all the childhood memories, this was one of the best songs to ever don the shores of Mzansi.. continue resting in eternal bra Steve. What a germ🔥
During that ERA we had so many whites who wanted to see a free South Africa for all PJ POWERS and the hot line dare the laws of apartheid i remember watching them at Jabavu stadium Soweto
I've heard that PJ Powers has great stage presence. I remember reading the story about a concert at Bhisho Stadium where Brenda Fassie pitched up drunk and forgetting lyrics, PJ Powers took over and saved the day. She is one musician who is loved by South Africans across racial lines.
When I was in Jozi I used to attend Imilonji kantu concerts, and Penny would be there sometimes. A beautiful, friendly tall lady. People call you Thandeka for a reason. ❤
Wow this track takes way back in time, to a world with happy and loving memories. Great classic track form the best of South African music. Now I feel so strong...thanks sharing. Jaaaaa nhe
This is a great song ..The powerful voice from Thandeka and the soothing voice of Mr Kekana, rest well Sir. I grew up in the 80s and this song symbolizes what it was like to be a teenager in the 80s.. - irreplaceable memories.
One of the many reasons I never experienced apartheid and heard about it later. Evrrything seemed normal and we used to enjoy going to Joburg and Pretoria Zoo and Sterkfontein caves. All my pictures as a child don't show the suffering I am seeing since we got 'freedom'.
Steve Kekana and PJ Powers black and white singing a song together in apartheid South African ruffled some feathers in those days. But people still recognized good music and not stupidity.
2023 and beyond I will listen to it carefully. Makes me feel NOSTALGIC!
And on this day he passed to the next destination. May he Rest in Peace. Solace and strength to his family and those millions who shall miss him forever. I absolutely loved him. That Steve Beat. Thanks for the music. All of it. Alicia Myburgh (74)
