I had the best fried baby squid I've ever tasted in Tenerife recently, but I'm not sure that smell would tempt me to eat that bag of em - same with really strong cheese, the whiff puts me off I can get it into my mouth. Bravo for trying.

The absolute best dried Squid I've ever had comes from Vietnam. My wife's from there and every time we go we bring back kilos of dried beef, crab, squid, chicken, all sorts. Definitely try some SE Asian stuff if you ever see it around!

Dried fish/seafood is a bit of an acquired taste, you can get stuff with a chilli/spicy seasoning that I'd say is more palatable for the novice
