Nice setup! I got the same cam on my 2022 lowrider S with stock intake and Bassani Road Rage 2 exhaust. Dyno tuned says 123 hp and 146 torque.. seems a little high wonder what number you have

Great sound mate. How do you find the ride-a-bility now? Is it still smooth at low speeds and how is the fuel economy for you? Also, how do you find the forwards? Just bought the 23 in White Sand Pearl, beautiful machine. Can see why these are so popular. Thanks from 🇦🇺 ride safe bro.

@@Maggieismydog hey pal, thanks for the compliments. I’m really happy with mine.
I really like this cam. I find it to be very torquey and responsive. It also sounds fantastic. The bike really does not like cruising at low rpm. Anything below 1800-2000 you’ll notice it jitter. Over 2000 though, it’s rocket ship and very smooth.
I’m 5’14” so the forwards just made sense. I can still take corners at speed but I do miss standing on the pegs to stretch the legs out. It’s really comfortable and maneuverable with the forwards. You can take off ramps at 90 kmph with ease. Careful on the throttle through turns because this bike loves to spin that rear tire.
Fuel economy is abysmal. I don’t know what it’s supposed to be because I never rode mine stock. If you’re opening up the taps and keeping those revs up, maybe 3/4 to full tank per 150 km? I don’t exactly know but the calculated range drops roughly 5 km per 1 km. Even on the highways in 6th, it’s not ideal for range. I took mine on a 200 km round trip, starting with a full tank and was sweating trying to find a gas station on the way back. I do ride mine a little spicy most of the time. I’m not very kind to this bike and have been abusing her, she may have that battered syndrome because she keeps coming back for more. So your mileage may vary.
I wouldn’t change it though. I love the setup. There’s a guy on RUclips called Master Tech Miller. He’s in your neck of the woods and an absolute genius.
I’m f*cking pissed. I’m heading into winter and your summer is right around the corner. Happy riding bud!

@@Dabocado hey Mate, thanks for the reply and so much info. I have owned quite a few bikes in my 25 years of riding. This is by far my favourite bike I have had. I’m still breaking it in, so riding very conservatively. I’m getting 350-400km on a full tank. I’m 5’10 and find the mids good but am considering the forwards. I had a stage 1 done before picking it up. I have freedom declaration turnouts 2 into 2 pipes and tuned. I have watched many of Millers vids, thanks for that. He knows his shit and puts out some great content. Really appreciate your info on the range too, I have time to look around. Not in a rush for the stage 2. I live in Melbourne so our weather is extremely unsettled, hope to get some nice days, my girl won’t be seeing a drop of rain haha! Thanks again and ride safe mate!

@@Maggieismydog I made the decision to switch from sport bikes to cruisers 2 years ago and haven’t looked back. I was always a hyper-naked fan, so the LRS just made sense. I’m super happy with mine and like you, it’s my favourite so far. I had freedom pipes on my breakout. Looked beautiful, sounded filthy.

Nice! I’m getting the thundermax tune done on my new 23 lrs. Also getting a stage 4 se kit and bassani rr and other bits and pieces done, my dealership won’t do aftermarket cams but it’s got the extended warranty. I’m really interested to see what it’s like, I know it won’t put out as much as an aftermarket cam but should still be alright!

@@D-doggy77I think the SE 131 has a high lift 512 cam. Don’t take me my word for it though. I’ve been wrong before. If you’re looking to keep warranty, stay away from after market tuners and use the SE ones. They’re not great but better than stock. You’ll notice it.

I’d like to get a cam, full exhaust, tune, etc. I will probably cap my power at around 95hp / 110 torque cause it will still be fast. I’d like to keep the sound under 110db. What is yours? Any suggestions??

    • @Dabocado
      @Dabocado  29 дней назад

I’m not sure if you’re asking about the entire setup or just exhaust recommendations, sorry buddy! Well mines roughly 120 hp 130 tq. I purposely built it to be quick and mobile.
I used a high lift cam, some aggressive tuning, better plugs, wires, intake manifold, injectors, etc. My exhaust is made by Horse Power Inc and it’s loud enough to knock your fillings out. There’s more parts on there which I can remember right now.
For exhaust, there’s Dr. Jekly and Mr. Hyde. They have a butterfly valve you can fold if you want to keep the noise down. Then open it on the highway and have that pure Harley sound.
For the Horsepower you’re after, I would recommend putting your bike on the dyno first. A stock Harley should be close to those numbers (depending on year, model, engine, etc..) If not, you’re going to want to get a less aggressive cam without as much lift. The market is littered with them and I unfortunately don’t know them all.
Screaming Eagle came may be what you’re looking for. Cycle Rama has a 480 cam which is just a torque monster, she’s called the stump puller. For a tune, dyno jet will always be the best. Get it on the dyno, run the numbers and tweak it how you want it to be.
With what you’re looking for, I would pop by your local dealer and see what they say. A lot of the screaming eagle parts may be exactly what you’re looking for.

@@Dabocado I like your setup. I just don't want it to get too loud. I want the lope (particularly at idle) , but I don't want it to get too obnoxious as you get on the throttle. If you put it on dynojet, you can void the warranty. The harley dealer said they can put a power commander on it, and cap the power, etc. It won't void the warranty then. The hp is irrelevant (I'm saying it already has too much for me). I just want the sound. Yours sounds awesome! I am wondering if i can get the same sound as yours, but not get the db's too high. I would think capping the power might help? I love the HPI, but I don't think that they make a baffle. I was thinking if I put a stage 2 with a full exhaust, and a restrictive baffle, it might help with keeping the noise down. I have looked at Jekyl and Hyde, and like them btw, but the harley tech seemed to think that while they sound and look good, they aren't particularly well made.

Did it really take 6 months to get your HPI? Thanks for responding to all my questions, btw! Yours sounds awesome! I think at idle i prefer it even over a panhead, I'm just saying I'd like it to get a little quieter once your get going down the road. I might be asking for too much (maybe we are getting into VVT). Happy and safe riding!

In essence I want the lope of your cam, exhaust combination, etc. but I want to cap how loud it starts to get while riding it through higher rev ranges. I would be changing the cam and exhaust for sound, not power (I can again have a harley tech build out a map with almost the exact hp / torque I ask him to - so in my case it will be capped). Hope that makes sense.

@@ericthedude9457 I tossed out my warranty day one lol. That’s definitely not for everyone though and I understand where you’re coming from. The chop you hear on mine is mostly the cam. The HPI has tiny little baffles, it will always be loud and unfortunately there’s not much that can be down about that.
HPI builds to order but I was lucky enough to find one on a rack at a custom bike shop, so naturally scooped it. Sometimes you can find new ones for sale online. A two to one will offer more power to your bike. A two to two will offer better airflow with less back pressure (the M8’s love back pressure). Freedom Performance Pipes makes some top quality gear. They have 2-1, 2-2, 2-1-2, classic style, etc. A 2-2 will always sound better than a 2-1. Freedom also offers quite baffles for all their pipes if noise is a concern.
I have a breakout on my channel which I slapped some freedom pipes on. They don’t have the quiet baffles but if you want you can check it out to hear how they sound. That was just a stage 1 with stock cam and screaming eagle tuner.
Careful with the cam’s. A cam can void your warranty. Honestly, most dealers are pretty good though and may cover your warranty if something’s busted. They get paid regardless.
If you wanted to try the freedom pipes with baffles and an S&S 475 cam, I think you’ll be thoroughly surprised. The 475 has a real nice chop.

@@nhzxboi the bike is great. It’s is so much fun. The feel, torque and that beautiful angry hog chop. Believe it or not, this bike can dummy the 600’s. I bought it knowing what I wanted and added a bunch of custom parts as a project over the winter to make it exactly what I want.
I’ve owned a couple bikes and this by far the best.
If you get a bike, you’ll understand.
