Hello, May I ask how to calculate the most suitable carbon arrow spine for a Manchu qing bow. I just bought a new 30 lb bow, but I'm not quite sure how to calculate it.
An arrow spine table (google it) can help you get started get an idea. Make shure you get an arrow with removable screw points and get some arrow tips in diffrent weights. Then try shooting the arrow with some of the diffrent weight tips and see what works best. Also try paper tuning
go the old fashon way, call the archery stores that you buy stuff from and ask if they have testing arrow kits, its a kit of arrownd 12 arrows with diffrent arrow spines, and shoot them a bunch of times and at the end you should have at least one arrow type that suits you and then order a few of those arrows, not more than 12 or so and use those for a while, because your bow might drop in powndage and your string might stretch, and when you feel that everything is as consistent as you like it buy some more
if you have spine tester that will be the best. or you can go to an archery store and find proper arrows for it. for me, since the spine chart online but that's measure for target archery. Qing bows and some of reflex bows store more energy, so you will need a bit more stiffer arrows. the best way is to get some different arrows and shoot them a while and see which ones work the best for you. for me - asiatic style, thumb shooting, heavy bows - I use 100 spine for my bow. for you, definitely lower. for 30 pounder, try ranges between 600 to 350 spine. also, that will be depends on your drawlength as well. hope this helped... ^_^;;
@constantinbarbu. Thanks for the advice! I’ll keep an eye on my bow’s performance and make sure everything feels consistent before ordering more. Appreciate your help!
I tried this mentally while watching. Took me 53 attempts. Well done sir. 😉
