- We sailed from Galveston ,Texas on the Royal Caribbean Allure of the Seas Cruise ship for a 7 day Caribbean cruise to Roatan Honduras, Costa Maya Mexico and Cozumel Mexico. This video is part 2 of the 4 video cruise series. It's our first cruise, so we share our perspective as first-timers, prices on the island, as well as excursions.

Roatan is in my to go list. I went to the Mayan pyramids in Honduras it was surreal, a moment in the past.
this was our first ever taste of Honduras, would love to go back and see those pyramids
The water is so beautiful! Besides being very crowded, it looks like a great place to visit, and as Jenny mentioned, the beach is so clean.
The beach was super gorgeous hopefully we can make it out there again soon.

I once hung out with a woman who loved to go to Roatan to scuba dive with the whale sharks. I hadn't heard of the island before that. One of many places I would like to visit.

I’ve always heard great things about Roatan but this looked extremely congested like a giant spring break. Good to know!
You can avoid the congestion by going on a day that cruise ships don't arrive, though it might be tough to find out which days those are because it changes every season.

It was $45 dollars per person and it was a personal taxi that stayed with us the entire time. I don't know the name of the company but they had tags around their next with their certification.

Used to love going to Roatan, but the port can't really handle more than one cruise ship at a time especially with the really big RC ships. The crowds have become insane. Some of the best zip lines in the Caribbean though.
Yes it looks like they’re expanding the port but who knows when it will be ready. Next time we go we’ll definitely do the zip lining. If you like zip lining we highly recommend Toro Verde adventure park in Puerto Rico. They have awesome zip lining one that’s 2.5 kilometers long through the jungle, you feel like Superman and the food and drinks are so good too

We stay on the Island for the month of Feb. it's one of the most beautiful islands we have been to. Happy people just relaxing and enjoying life. Did you get to snorkel off the beach in front of the Grand Roatan ?? All inclusive is not worth it, you can find better deals for dinner just watching the specials on the beach boards !! Enjoy life and Travel more !!
We did not get to snorkel our time was very limited with the cruise. We’d love to go back
I remember going to Roatan Honduras like 10 years ago but it was at a resort. 0 people. I want to go on a cruise and visit there again, but don't like the crowds that I'm seeing. lol
yea that's why we went for the excursion, to get away from the crowds!

I bought that pearl necklace from a street vendor in Cartagena, Colombia for about $3 USD. It was my favorite necklace and lost it while snorkeling 3 days after filming this video 🥲

So did you all go to Henrys and purchase a package there and then just walked around all the beaches? Or did you even purchase a package at Henrys? We will be there in two weeks and I would love to just do what you all did, just wondering how exactly I would get there. Thanks!
We hired a taxi that charged per person and that included transportation and the entrance to the hotel.
I had to G the beer. Salva Vida is described as a Honduran/American style Lager ,4.8%ABV, generally not considered a strong beer.
I think we had one too many and in the sun it hit us hard 😂 saludos thanks for the info

we did not make any reservation in advance so I would assume you can just show up! I believe it's $20 for admission in general, which includes the chair

Just subscribed to y’all. I’ve been searching for a good video and you guys nailed it. We go to Honduras on Harmony in Feb and were looking for a place other than Little French Key! This is it - West Bay Beach it is! So I wonder if a taxi will just take us there or do we have to book like you guys did? There’s 26 of us! 😀

Juan thank you so much for your feedback. We welcome all feedback and yes you are right, our videos for the cruise and its destinations were very short and not informative.
The main reason for that was that we only had 6-7 hrs to film these videos due to having to get back on the boat but from now on we will jump back to our regular videos. We are currently filming Atlixco Puebla, Coyoacán and Ciudad de México.

Looks very Disneyland...not for me.
we've heard from people who've gone to Roatan on their own (not with a cruise) and say they've loved it. They don't go to the ship dock (the disneyland area) and enjoy a more local experience of the island. So if we go back to Roatan someday, it'd be on our own account 🙂
That's over $300 bucks a day per person to be stuck in a boat crammed with tourists, no thanks. I would never do a cruise, I hate crowded places but if you enjoyed it, its your money I guess. I would rather just to some place warm and secluded and have a quiet restful holiday. Not be prompted like a circus animal to act like a cheesy tourist the whole time.
Hey I totally get where you’re coming from. It’s not necessarily our preferred type of vacation either but we enjoyed it anyhow. Kevin’s mom wanted to celebrate her 60th birthday and we brought our best attitude. You might be surprised at what kind of fun you’ll have when you allow yourself 🙂 but also totally nothing wrong with not wanting this kind of experience!
