  • Due to popular request, I demonstrate how to take a Eufy 11s apart to help you repair it. There are two screws that can be hard to locate that are covered in this video. If my videos helped you bring your broken things back to life, please SUBSCRIBE, LIKE, and SHARE. Even though it's rewarding to see your comments about how my videos have helped, these videos take time and money to create. I'm halfway to being able to monetize my repair videos, so please help me get there. :) Thank you everyone, and happy repairing!

      @@AlsAutoandAppliance I think they still have replacement parts. After scrolling through many threads, I found the part I was looking for (Side brush motor):
      us.eufylife.com/collections/accessory/products/t2108111-90
      I haven't confirmed exactly what's wrong with my side brush -- it could very well be a gear. But without a 3d printer, buying a motor is likely the cheapest way to go

    What a great and helpful video! Mine was making a loud grinding noise. Thought something stuck in vac motor impeller. Nope, ended up chewed up gear in side brush assembly. Toughest was the putting on the front bumper back on. Took assembly apart 3 times thinking that was the issue. Finally read the comments and did find the assembly wasn't matched correctly. Thought the top part of the bumper fit inside the channels on the vacuum, nope. Finally success! I just left the bad gear removed and motor unplugged. Now realize maybe it will throw off an error code? Oh well charging now may have to take apart once again to make 4 times taking it apart. Thought replacing belts in our breadmaker was a challenge, this was worse. Once again, thank you again for all your help!😂

    Thank you for the helpful video. In my case, after I took everything apart and determined it was fine too, I realized there is a bearing *in* the roller brush and that's what had started sounding like it was falling apart. Maybe you mentioned it and I missed it, but for anyone about to embark on taking apart the Eufy it's worth checking the bearings in the brush first. They should soon freely. Thanks so much for this step by step dis-assembly. Very helpful vs. the 'guess as I go method'. I was able to put my 11s back into service, after removing a piece of hard plastic from the motor housing. It no longer sounds like a tank. (I did end up with 2 mini screws that failed to get back where they belong. But, if it doesn't seem to impact functioning, I'll probably let that go. I'm lusting over a room mapping upgrade, anyway. ) Thanks again for making this task easier.

    We have two EUFY 11S that scoot around every night at 01:30 am. They start within seconds of each other and cover the house extremely well when we are asleep. Plus we often start them manually (pushing the blue button, or use the remote) as we leave the house because we do find them a tad noisy. Yes, they are noisy and they like to knock on our bedroom door! It can be fun to watch them "ping-pong" around the various rooms until they go "orange-light mode" and quietly start sniffing for their EUFY charging station. They will find it 9 times out of ten ( 10/10 in a small apartment we think...) and soon ready for work the next morning.
    We clean the "nappy" i.e. the dust collecting box every two three days and honestly, it is a bit scary to see how incredibly effective the pair really are in doing the cleaning job around the house. So no doubts that they clean our floors very well! If you like to be bare-foot or walk around in socks, you do appreciate the smooth feel of clean floors.
    .
    The tips I can share is that it is a very good idea to fix the charging-station with Velcro-tape to the wall shirting board behind it. If loose, the Robovac tend to push it around so it may end up out of reach.
    The other tip is that we don't see much point in using the two removable filters, a HEPA filter and a sponge-mat. We have tossed those two filters and run our two EUFY 11S team with just the one prime screen filter. It is so much simpler to clean and maintain and the power is definitely boosted when running without the two extra sucker-filters. Maybe the additional two filters are worthwhile if a family-member suffers from some airborne allergy?
    We have found our pair of Robovac a very good purchase and blissfully without silly distractions like Bluetooth and "magic mapping", etc. No thanks because my time is valuable! Besides, the remote control is fine and dandy for any additional commands. Ooh, we got two EUFY's 11S because after a year or so we could not stand the thought of being without one, would it fail on us. But they just keep soldering on together... night after night.
    Conclusion: They fill their 0.6 litre dust-pans quick and well, nuff said. Except, what else can you ask for?

    Great video! Very informative on how to break down the Eufy. Thanks to you I had the bravery to actually try it, and considering I have no previous experience with anything close, it was quite the learning lesson. You did skip one part which I was hoping you would cover that you covered in other videos but on different models. I was wondering how to open the wheel motor housing unit. I know how to take the wheels off and get the motor separated from the gear box but from there I am having difficulty. Also, if you have any videos you recommend on soldering for I've again, had no experience doing so. My Eufy unit just went out of warranty and I have a bad wheel that as you said in your earlier video, "needs an exorcist". The wheel rolls smooth when disconnected from the motor (just gears only) but its very tight when attached. I'm trying to fix the wheel engine before I have to look for a new one. As for replacing the gear, unfortunately I have not found a source and have been looking real hard. An alternative is to try to find a used assembly on ebay. I'm looking at trying to manufacture them myself and need to model the gear then have it printed or molded. Might also try a little bit of grease...not too much, though!

    I have run the vac without the dust bin. The dirt is then sucked into the fan area causing poor or no vacuum power. I think that this is a design flaw BUT I think that they are a good vacuum. I just need to do my part. Also, I don’t use the supplied filter, I made made filters out of rectangles of shammy cloth and the thin pot scrubber pads. Cloth the filter, wash and reuse, the pot scrubber filler to duplicate the size of the supplied filter.

    How does one remove the front castor. My robot had a little run in with...kitty doo, and it is just a mess, and I want to clean it up. My experience is with a Roomba 360. So sorry about the poop incident. The caster just snaps out. You can use a flat blade screwdriver. You can see the metal axle snapped into the caster hub. If I remember right, you can get on the inside edge of the wheel and pry till the axle pops out. The hub part has to be either unscrewed from the inside or it might just also snap out. It’s different depending on the model.

      The most common thing that makes the bumper super hard to reinstall is that the upper and lower body halves don't go fully back together due to wires getting pinched. • @AlsAutoandAppliance

      Most of them come apart very similarly and have similar issues. The main differences are in the "hidden" screws. Some models have a screw under the front wheel and some have screws inside the main brush compartment which are easy to miss when they are covered in a layer of dust and debris. Just remember you should never have to force anything apart. If it seems to be stubborn, study the parts carefully and you will usually find that one sneaky screw. Make sure to report back on what you find if you attempt the disassembly...or make a video! :)

      There are two options. You can either put a piece of tape over the top of it, or you can unsolder it from the board. The 4S1P Lithium battery pack has only a + and - connection, so no balancing circuitry. This looks very unsafe to me.
    This is very normal for NiMh batteries in small household equipment. They fail often after using it for a year due to imbalance also, but mistreating LIpo batteries can lead to hazardous situations. I think Eufy should have added a balance circuit to there RoboVac models.
    Question 1: What is the function of the round metal plate behind one of the two wheels.
    Question 2: The sprocket that drives the rolerbrush in my 11S is no longer square in the middle but round. Motor spins fine, but the brush is not driven. Can his part be separately ordered or does it only come with the motor, gear assembly and brush holder plastics? The motor number seems to be RP390-ST/20143/DV, but is the the number for the whole assembly or is there a separate number for the sprocket with the square hole?

      Since Eufy is a lower cost alternative to the likes of Roomba etc., my guess is they opted to forgo battery monitoring to save a few bucks. The number on the motor is just for the motor. The whole assembly us.eufy.com/products/t2108111-97 is available from Eufy, OR you could try and print www.thingiverse.com/thing:5368883 a replacement gear. Recommend using resin printing vs filament. Finally, the disc is a 40 gram slug of metal to add more weight to the back. It looks like the location for the slug may have originally been for a speaker. You will notice there are small holes on the underside where the slug is installed. Hope this helps.

    Hi! Few weeks ago my brush was making a very laud noise. We took apart the vacuum following your video and discovered the gears were not working fine. We bought a new motor brush with new gear and replace it. Put it back together. While I was putting back together I turn on the switch for mistake and the vacuum made her usual bip. After I put it together I put it in the base, blue light was on charging but the control wouldn't turn it on...I thought needed a night to be charged. This morning I tried to start with but it won't with both control or blue switch in the base. Now the switch doesn't even turn it on. I took it apart again but all look good to be. Some help?

      The main power switch fails a lot on these vacuums. Here is a video on replacing it: ruclips.net/video/agMNNVi8zMk/видео.html You can check the switch by removing it and temporarily shorting across the two terminals to see if it powers up. Also, can you please provide a link to eufy's website where you saw motor assemblies?

      fedetvb1988 just pop it out and leave the wires connected. With the switch popped out, use a screwdriver or other metal object like a paper clip to connect the two terminals on the switch together by shorting. See if that does anything.

    Do you have to remove the motherboard to be able to remove the side brush motors? Also do you by any chance know if Eufy will run if I just unplug the side brush motor that is knocking?

    • @AlsAutoandAppliance

      If my memory is correct, YES, you can remove side brush motors without removing the mainboard. Also, YES, Eufy will run with motors unplugged. This also helps troubleshoot which motor is causing problems.

    I cannot find any videos on how to deal with when the side brushes stop spinning. Lots of folks seem to have the issue with this model, but I’ve found no fixes. Do you have one?

    • @AlsAutoandAppliance
      @AlsAutoandAppliance  4 года назад

      I have not had this issue yet, but I would guess it's the same as the issue with the other models of eufy. The motor internally shorts and with a little patience, one can disassemble the motor and clean the carbon out and reassemble. There also seems to be issues with gears stripping out, in which case, there are no replacements at this time. :(

    I had to take mine apart to replace a brush motor because one of its gears was stripped. Since putting it back together it is so quiet and seems to work fine, except the bumper doesn’t really move. I am putting it back together the same way I took it apart yet it hits everything hard because the bumper is fixed and doesn’t move anymore. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks.

    • @AlsAutoandAppliance
      @AlsAutoandAppliance  4 года назад +1

      The two most common causes are the bumper not seated exactly right in the groove on the main body and/or the main body halves are not closed together all the way. This can be caused by pinched cables or loose screws. Another possibility is that the bumper switches are stuck and need to be cleaned. Keep us all posted on what you find.

    • @shannonsloan9635
      @shannonsloan9635 4 года назад

      alsautoandappliance thanks. I have taken it apart 4 times and the bumper appears to still “bump”/move until the tiny black screws on the little black halves are tightened fully. At that point the bumper appears fixed and no longer moves.

    • @AlsAutoandAppliance
      @AlsAutoandAppliance  4 года назад

      @@shannonsloan9635 I still think it is the top and bottom half of the body not coming fully together. It's really hard to tell if you have a wire pinched between the body halves. That's all it takes to give you problems.
