- Here's a story from my Dungeons and Dragons game where the players encountered Captain Morgan- a crazy, deranged drug dealer. The players kept sending him in by themselves to solve the problems by himself. Enjoy!

I was hoping that after making lots and lots of "friends" the cocaine supply runs out.
Then he discovers Rum and makes a highly profitable business off of making and selling it. And also getting drunk off it
either that or the opposite, he gets more competant the more high he is, when he is sober he is to selfconcious and is to used to being high to do well, that "fight" with cokebeard was because he was overcompensating for his altered perceptions with the drugs when he wasn't actually on drugs

@Kasey Lock That was in regard to Greatness Gamers and his comment of "have YOU ever done cocaine?". The emphasis on "you" is a condescending tone used to make it sound like it was something to be proud of. That was at least my interpretation because that is how it is usually used from my experience. E.G. "Have YOU ever ridden a motorcycle? Didn't think so".

Sounds like the Friday series.
Whenever one of the players at MY table brings up drugs, he's usually just like "haha weed" for the entire session.
Meanwhile, you get clerics casting Sacred Weapon on the cocaine.
Oh boy, my party's one meeting with drugs was quite the tale. We found some mushrooms on a few elves that we'd killed, one of the players tried one and it turned out it was magic. The DM ruled that the mushroom would give 1 effect from the wand of wonders, with the consumer as the target of the effect. So in summation.
-We filled the underground black market with poisonous gas
-Made a statue dissapear into a black hole
-Made one player change gender and another become a copy of that player
-Had a magic mushroom duel with a drug dealer
-And rode away on an invisible elefant covered in magic pink light to sell more drugs
My oldest brother once had a session where his group of 4 were having a competition to see who could drug their two targets that were on a boat a few hundred yards(? Not sure of distance) out at see, his female character had a lipstick like what Riversong from Doctor who has that also causes victims to pass out for a bit, his partner had a few empty darts and a sniper gun, the others had a levitation spell and a truth serum that also had the side effect of causing the victim to pass out for a bit. It was a tie of speed. I'm forgetting multiple details but when he told it, it was pretty cool and fun to listen to.

My last druid was a catfolk that worshiped all forms of natural inebriation. He was going to do some shrooms with a bunch of demons after inventing and selling the bong. But one of my party members decided to knock him out before the party could start.

Me? Nooo, but I know a good item when I see one, and this sword could be specially handy (pun intended) for party-hard people. Unfortunately, the "fun substance" injection method is rather dangerous, but when isn't it?
Kind of reminds me of a Pathfinder game I ran 10 or so years ago, where I created a magical weapon my players found called "L'Oreal" which gave whoever wielded it long fabulous locks of hair that always flowed in the wind, even if they were of a species that didnt have hair. I put it in all subsequent Pathfinder campaigns I ran. Haven't gotten around to doing it for 5e yet though.

It may be a home blend, iirc the actual stuff is made from leaves, so morgan could have mixed it with anything, really.
Maybe he purposefully lets it mold or adds other, hallucinogenic leaves?
In pure leaf form, it's mixed with activators and used in mild doses to provide energy for people who travel long distances over rough terrain.

He should have made up some fantasy equivalent to explain away the different effects. An example from a game I played in had a conflict between an alchemist and a druid. One of the items sold by the alchemist was 'fairy dust' that temporarily gave flight and a huge temporary debuffs to wisdom and dexterity, it made you both literally and figuratively high. We later found out it was made from ground up fairies which was why the druid kept vandalizing the alchemist's shop. The druid was basically an expy of Tingle from the Legend of Zelda games, so he was super pissed about the alchemist killing fairies.

I would believe "Captain Morgan!!!" Would have a lopsided ship due to, you know, drugs
Fun fact...! For many, drugs can help straighten their ship and also help keep their ship afloat for quite some time. You drop your shipment MULTIPLE times *_AND_* still have the ability to stay out in sea for quite a long time. I'm talking H O U R S. Anywhere from two to five hours, more even, the problem comes when they _stop_ using drugs after such a long time using them. Your ship won't stay afloat for anything, after such a long time with your ship being use to the extra endorphins and dopamine that you've been accustomed to while, seafaring, now no matter what you do your, ship, doesn't have the strength of will to, uh, ship.
So this "Captain Morgan" is really the D&D version of Snowflame?
