Great video! I've been hunting around the internet trying to find fans that are actually still good. This is the 3rd found i've seen that actually has oil ports. The first and second were the TPI f-18 and CF-18. Well built fans are so rare these days... On another note, I recently found a vintage galaxy 12 in fan and a Frigid 16 in vintage fan (blue blades) both were cleaned and serviced and really make all newer fans look like a joke. They are quiet and move a ton of air.
I really enjoyed the video on the initial checkout of this I-Living 20" high velocity fan the front grille is easy to take out for cleaning I like how these Fans Have oil ports for ease of adding drops of oil It has an awesome start-up sound and long spin down time which is always one of my favorites hopefully you'll get the blades balanced good video bro
I knew you couldn't resist getting this. It's almost exactly like today's Hampton Bay equivalent. As for the rattling, combination of those screw things plus the motor just needs to break in. I was yelling at my screen the whole time that those would make a noise. Just don't footmark and it should stay in great shape. I have noticed that some modern things that come out of the China contain parts that have been made for decades, I think you just don't see it much because the price of said part has gone up too much since 20 years ago for it to sell as well.
I don't know why I didn't pick up on those screw things sooner, it seems so obvious now. The bearings sounded pretty dry, could just need to break in or they could be lacking lubrication, which is a going trend on today's fans. I'll open it up and take a peep, I want to see what the inside of the motor looks like anyways.
So glad you got one bro they are good fans it will make it to vintage due to the oil ports mines is kind of out of balanced also but not that bad in shipment some of the metal wires on the guard was bent and I had to straighten it out I just gave mines oil but wow that’s good to know they full size motors are still being made today with oil ports I run mines 24/7 on low . See I told you bro that it was Quiet on all 3 speeds and moves a crap load of air glad you like it and can’t wait to see the tear down video of it soon now you got to the Aain 20” hv fan it also has oil ports and it will also make it to vintage are you going to get that one to ?
@@JordanU its somewhat quite but not overbearing nothing like the tpi the low speed is about as Quiet as you can get on a 20 inch fan.. but most of all its the only other 20 i can recremed to you with oil ports and Quite low speed it does get somewhat loud on med and hi but it is Quite on low speed video link : ruclips.net/video/dttG1gEatIY/видео.html
I wanted to know your opinion. Would you choose this or the mainstays. I going to make a purchase but I wanna know your professional opinion please. Iliving has a 20 in fan just like this on but with a black finish on Amazon. Which would you choose. I watched all of your floor fan videos. You've been a great help
I think most of it is American companies want CHEAP, and China builds it. Maybe they have the ability depending on what customer wants.. Also, the casing and handle looks TPI like strong which is a good thing.. The price tho, not sure it is worth it over the TPI? But the low is a good extra selling point.. TPI is fast on all three speeds.
That is correct; an American company could make something decent in China like TPI has done, but most choose not to due to corporate greed. The fan is sturdy, but it's not as thick or sturdy as the TPI is. I paid about $90 for this unit, that's a little less than half of the TPI F-18-TE. I think this fan more than half as good as the TPI.
My only real gripe with this fan is the blade set. The metal looks a bit thin for my taste and the generic blade shape could also be improved. Cosmetically, I am not a fan of unpainted blades like that, otherwise, this is a good quality product.
The finish of the blades looks a little tacky, but I think there's something on it that shouldn't be. We'll take a look at the thickness and sturdiness of the blades when I do the tear-down video.
This looks interesting looks more like the patton rebrand of the hampton bay fan such as the one I have, from the bladeset, cages, switch knob and motor, I thought fans like these were discontinued since 07, I never thought you were being sarcastic when you said that you were not going to spend over $100 on this, but at the end it seems to be worth it
@@JordanU I hope thise blades are smooth at the edges, metal fan producers nowadays don't bother to smoothen the edges of metal blades, also do you know when that shipping label is coming

Decent fans are far and few between today, but even the best ones of today don't compare to the ones from years ago.
CRACKED

O, and the voltage dropping is probably a function of the power company, not the house wiring. 14 AWG copper just transfers whatever's fed to it.

Does it have a slow quiet low like this one does?

I bought this exact model of fan on amazon a couple days ago. They no longer come with oil ports on the motor... very unfortunate.
Is it otherwise the same motor?
@@JordanU pretty much, it is the same model but without oil ports. I bought it just because yours had oil ports
Symbols on the box: this way up, handle with care, do not get it wet, fragile, don’t step on it.
OK

Hi, I got some problem with my booney Powerful Oscillating Air Circulator. When starting up is so noisy throughout. Able to teach me how to fix it
Thanks for letting me know.

I have no idea what you're talking about.
Are these still being sold?
Yes...
