I didn't know it at the time I pre-ordered this but I will say that I don't think it'll really make a difference for me. Yes it's nice but I'll probably be far from utilizing the speeds this thing has, nonetheless m happy I got it. it's amazing.
Hi, my Macbook Pro M4 16" with the cheapest configuration (i.e. 24GB RAM, 512GB SSD, M4 Pro) leaves terrible fingerprints on the keyboard and casing, is that also the case for you? Does your battery also drain quickly? Apparently the Air lasts a long time, but in my Pro with the ProMotion function enabled, the battery drains quickly.
apart from the fact that I'm unlucky and have some kind of line on the touchpad that I can't erase, it keeps coming back after I finger it or wipe it with a cloth with alcohol
So far on my machine I haven had any issues with fingerprints being bad on either the casing or keyboard, yes it will fingerprint a little but I can wipe it and they'll go away. I haven't had much of an issue with that. My battery life has been absolutely crazy, it's been lasting me multiple days without a charge. By multiple days I mean around at least 2 to 3 days. And yes, I believed the air last longer because there is no fan and runs a base model M chip, which is meant to be more power efficient. I use my MacBook Pro with the promotion display on all the time and have no issues with battery life. I just traveled with my MacBook Pro recently and I charged it before I left the house to 100% and after returning back home just yesterday I still had 50 to 60% battery life left. I always keep my keyboard backlight on 100% however it does turn off after five seconds of inactivity. This can be adjusted in the settings. However, this can also be very dependent on the work that you do on your machine. I wasn't doing any editing or heavy tasks that would require a lot of power while traveling. However, even when I was editing on battery power, I didn't notice a crazy amount of power drain or battery train. I believe you may have gotten a bad machine, if possible I would try to exchange the machine for another one of the exact same spec and see if that makes a difference.
This was my exact pic 16inch glossy screen 48gb RAM and 1TB drive I’m coming from a windows and so far I love it, amazingly fast 😊 although I do wish I put a bit more thought in I really didn’t need such a powerful machine and could have saved quite a bit.
Congratulations 🎉 on your new MacBook Pro. and yes I'm on the same boat, I definitely could have gone with a MacBook Air (15" for the screen size) and still had more than I needed. However the display, speakers, port selection, and build are so much better on the MacBook Pro's. I think the Pro is worth it if you know what you're getting and are okay with paying more for what it offers
@@DhrumilP24 Thank you for pointing out all the pros and reminding me that its better to have more than you need than not enough because it's not like these are extremely upgradeable😂
Yeah apple’e marketing wins in that department 😂 (having to buy more than you need because it’s not upgradable). However I am happy to see that the Mac mini has fairly if not very replaceable Storage. It was a surprise and a good one at that. Now if only it would make its way to MacBooks💀🥲
Congrats on your purchase! I purchased my first mac back in july. Its the 16 MacBook pro m3 max 16 CPU, 40 GPU, 64gb of ram and 2 tb of storage. That computer is the most expensive piece of tech I have purchased but it is a very powerful machine. It's overkill for what I use it for (editing youtube videos) but I am very happy with my purchase.
48 GB is ideal for Pro tasks like Da Vinci editor and Photoshop/ Adobe tools. 1TB is much faster than 512 GB of SSD. Good choice! When you go for mac you have to go big. You can't hold on to your budget. You might repent later if you do.
What would you guys like to see in a part 2? Stress testing has been done by many already so I don't know what I could do that would make a difference yk
I think it already available in SEA? My country Thailand also a Southeast Asian country and it’s available in the website and the store for very long now.
As someone who owns a 16-inch MacBook Pro with M1 Pro chip, 16GB RAM & 1TB of SSD. This M4 Pro MacBook Pro is a beast. I personally won’t buy a new Mac yet cause my MacBook is perfect for my use case, but the M4 series are crazy good. Enjoy. 😊
Hey thank you for your comment. And I agree, any M chip is probably more than powerful enough for my use case. These machines and chips really are built to handle a ton of stuff at once
Hey bro... Can you record a video using your M4 Macbook in everyday situations? Google Chrome, several open tabs, apps, etc... To see how it behaves, speed, etc. with 48gb of ram
Honestly with stress testing this MacBook Pro I don't think it'll be anything different from what many tech RUclipsrs have done already. This MacBook Pro so far has not skipped a beat. Ive had 2 safari windows open with around 6 tabs open on each, Microsoft word, RUclips playing, while I was plugged into a external monitor (1440p @120fps), and this MacBook Pro wasn't even effected what so ever. I don't have any apps that would seriously utilize the power this thing has. I just use iMovie to edit for right now, FCP is $300 which I cannot justify right now. iMovie works quickly even with this 4k 60fps footage it wasn't stuttering or anything. it also exported this entire video (50GB) in 1 minute. If there's any other tests you'd like to see I'm open to it, genuinely thank you for the comment, have a great day.
No case for me. I’ve heard it wears down the hinge because of the added weight, can very slightly bend the display, and overall just slowly mess up the computer
I just use a nice sleeve for it from TomToc since it has good protection. If I do decide I want more of an aesthetic change and a little scratch resistance then I’ll probably put a dbrand skin on it
So this is my second Mac, I had a 2017 MacBook Pro 15" before this. It was a base model with no upgrades. That laptop lasted me from December of 2017 to now. I probably would still be going strong on that MacBook Pro if it didn't get damaged. The space black so far for me is doing great, I don't have any fingerprinting issues or any issues with discoloration. Yeah, I'll have the occasional fingerprint or hand mark however that's to be expected, but I'm not worried about it. I can just take a cloth and just wipe it off. I think the space black color looks amazing and I would choose it again. However, the silver does also look very classy and very timeless. Both colors are amazing in my opinion, it's just whatever you prefer
It’s nice to know there’s people like me out here😭. And yeah if I’m spending money I need the assurance that I’m not getting ripped off, and that I’m getting the best for my money
Thank you, and anything is possible, where there’s will there’s a way. And let me know how you like the Mac Mini with the M4 chip, I’ve heard and seen so many reviews saying its a beast
learnt that 1TB configuration is faster than 512GB so good choice bro

because of the larger SLC cache
