This is why gameplay and story segregation is a thing. Square Enix kind of tried to do both with FF14 and it ended up creating a lot of problems with it. Endwalker also had the issue of trying to tie everything together at the end, so both the story of Midgardsormr and Omega kind of got shafted from it.
