In this video, I'm going to show you all of the new features and improvements that MG HS has made in the past year. This is an all new MG HS, and there's really no competition when it comes to the best interior on the market!
Took delivery of one of these 1 week ago on a 3 year lease, honestly, I test drove everything and for me, this with the 7 speed DSG auto box was the best of the lot, the whole package is superb, put aside badge snobbery and China opinions and go and test drive one, you absolutely will not regret it!

@kumer4607 I have the 1.5 turbo petrol with the DCT gearbox, as with any car the fuel consumption is directly related to how it is being driven however, this is a 2 ton car with a 1.5 turbo petrol engine and in my case a DCT auto gearbox, it has not been designed to deliver high fuel efficiency in the first place. Honestly, the HS is such a brilliant car, I'm now on my second! First one was a 2019 Exclusive in white, the new one that I picked up yesterday is a 2023 Trophy in Urban grey, same as your video. I've had loads of different brands over the years, from Volvo to Audi and many in between, and there is nothing that has a the same combination of reliability, comfort, spec and price out there. Compared to the most unreliable car I've ever owned (2021 VW Tiguan I brought for my wife) the HS has always been trouble free and easy to deal with, my last one I brought new and sold this year with 98k miles on the clock. Anyone looking at this video, take one for a test drive and see what you think, I have no complaints!
@@AutoStartTestHappy to offer some insight mate. Also, you asked about the seats. The electric seats are only on the Trophy, which has the leather. The SE model has a different design of seats (The same as the ZS), which are leather effect and are not electric. Hope this helps 😊
Should be collecting my new MG HS Trophy 1.5 DCT in Cosmic Silver with the optional red/black leather interior within the next couple of weeks (motability). Can't wait to collect it, the comfort and equipment of this car is unbelievable considering the price tag... It blows ALL budget end vehicles out of the water in my opinion and that's on all aspects - Looks - specs - comfort. It's got everything a high end premium car has... It's simply unbelievable for the price, to get something with all the specs this has with a more reputable well known brand, you would be paying a very high asking price for top spec vehicles with the same amount of equipment this offers. I would encourage anyone to go down to there local MG dealership and give one a test drive. Thanks for sharing your video, it was very detailed and is just making me want my new car even more lol 😛
We are picking up our one on Friday (15th September) but we are getting the manual not the DSG. We are trading in a 2018 Ford Grand Cmax and cant wait to get it.
Incredible review! This car, especially the Trophy version, is absolutely amazing! The supersport button changes it into a wild animal! Throttle response, steering etc is all changed. The interior with ambient lighting and the 3D surround sound system makes for the most relaxing drive I’ve ever had! Thank you Sir for such a wonderful review
I just test drove one yesterday and I was surprised about everything. The Ride quality, the Interior Quality, the Exterior look. I love it. I will get the White one with the white and blue interior. It definitely feels like a luxury car but at a very good price. I agree, unbeatable in this segment 🤩
I'm getting one of these in a couple of weeks ....its not a car I would have usually entertained but I think that was just the whole "badge snobbery " thing but we needed a new car with more room and I happened to walk into an MG show room and honestly couldn't beleive the quality of the interior of the MG HS Trophy ..heated leather electric seats , electric and heated folding door mirrors , reclining back seats , electric tailgate (automatic only) , drive modes (automatic only) adaptive cruise control plus most of the interior is made up of a nice soft to the touch material plus the recent facelift the HS has underwent at the back and front of it makes it look more rugged and sturdy looking ..I know its at the more frugal end of the suv market but a lot of other manufacturers could learn a thing or two from mg when it come to interior specs I mean look at the kia sportage se for instance which is around £2000 pound more for an entry level model compared to MG hs top spec trophy its a no brainer ....Great review 👍
@@ericharvey9456I don't think I can argue that other cars are much better in this regard. Wife's X5 has been off the road for 4 months so far after a minor front end shunt. They have everything except the front crossmember and the passenger side headlight, still on back order. Last year my MG was off the road for 7 weeks waiting for a new radiator. It's becoming par for the course at this stage, which is a really depressing indictment for the motor industry! I'm a fleet manager for one of the largest vehicle fleets in the UK and there are so many cars awaiting parts right now.
Thank you for this vital information , to be honest the interior is much better then my Mercedes GLA I am driving for more than 4 years now, I am considering to have this car in the future.
I was let down with the waiting time for the Vauxhaul Grandland and change of spec just before delivery. So i cancelled and went to see MG HS trophy automatic. I was amazed by the quality and space for passengers. I gave my order in July and will be deliverd for new 73 reg in the UK in september. I believe for the price and long warranty there is nothing on the market that can beat it
@@Salsalady yeah got it. Absolute love it. I'm surprised how nippy it is for a 1.5 petrol auto engine. I have done 800 miles and it's been on one 400 mile road trip. Fuel use on the motorway is not as good as my ex BMW X1 2.0 petrol but its slightly better than the BMW around town on short trips.
7 yr warranty , beware if your a UK buyer , it falls down in a lot of places , but if you dont abuse the car keep it clean ( mg words not mine ) and always never miss a beat on official mg services they will honour gearbox, rear diff and block in warrantied time or mileage ceilng, which ever comes first , the rest of car after a much shorter time breaks or fails sadly you are on your own
Looks okay, but does it mean people with fatter fingers have to sit in the rear. Should have narrowed and slightly lengthened the rear lights to compliment the new front ones. Ps wheres a sunroof?
I guess I didn't understand what fatter fingers was about.... As for the rear lamps, for me the shape of the LED inside optically narrows the whole. , in this version there was no glass roof.
@AnteGeia. What I can tell you about it is, petrol consumption is poor. I haven't worked out the actual mileage, but believe me, it's poor. My initial reaction to this car was that I was a little 'starstruck' I think? It was a new design with a nice interior....nice seats, chrome trim all over the inside...all the mod cons like the screen in the centre of the dashboard etc; and because M.G. is now produced by the chinese, I thought I'd give them a chance to impress. People say it's a 'pretty' vehicle, but as time has passed (I've had it almost a year now) there are several things I've grown to dislike about it. Here's just one or two of them........The automatic transmission is awful, and when you change direction it takes a long time to engage gear, the transmission is lumpy in my opinion...it even sometimes selects the totally unecessary 'sport mode' of it's own accord. The central screen is both very slow and a little complicated if you're not fluent in todays technology, the picture displayed when playing music can't be changed to your own picture, the 3 controls for wipers lights etc; is made complicated for no apparant reason, (if you don't read the drivers handbook which is like a bible) I still haven't mastered the cruise control. I don't like the fact that it has no spare wheel, and I find the 'fob key' bulky in my pocket. It comes with no floor mats, and M.G. mats are a ridiculous price, the doors automaticaly lock you in when you start your journey, (not good in the event of an accident?) but on the other hand, it's electricaly adjustable seats are comfortable, it's quick when you want it to be, and quiet. It has a good sound system, a tailgate that opens and closes by key fob or a button inside, a good heating system and cooler system, and it's actually not a 'terrible' car. But the Renault Kadjar I had before the M.G.was a much better car all 'round. Would I have another one? The short reply to that question is NO.
Still lacks a proper DAB system. If you have a box on the screen, means you cannot program radio stations. You have to retune every time you need to change. I got told it is lacking a chip for it to work properly. I would rather have a decent radio than some of the gymicks. You also lose one of your usb outlets because of it
did some research. its a battery isolator switch. used to stop the battery failing during transport. removed during PDI. i have driven a trophy. had no box in windscreen and both usb ports were under the flap thingy.
No worries about a missing key handle? If that’s representative for the rest of the car, you have all the need to worry. Another note, the beeping with the open door is incredibly annoying. 😮 I like how many aspects of the car you do test
Hi "don't worry....", 😜 I said that because this car just arrived from the factory and has special emergency switch on the board which deactivate all electronic devices in the car to save 12V battery. That's why dealership stuff to get inside the car needs to use kay to open the car manually. This part of handel is easy to remove from the door.
All the MG showrooms cars have this bit removed. As this needs to be removed to use the key in the door and battery may go low with people opening and closing/pushing buttons. The beeping is supposed to be annoying so you close your door but think you can turn it off.
