During bench press on incline. The upper body rest, basically works like a long lever and its gonna bend your m10 bolt hinge joint. You need a pinn and pipe joint as this is cirtical. It may survive only 100kg max and if you jerk it, then it can bend or sheer the bolt right off.

i am learning 3D parametric CAD software named openSCAD. It is free. Now i can measure and build on the computer. If you know basic level programming, then you can try it to build your parts and understand whether they fit together or not. Also some same benches are with different brand names. Maybe you can find plans. My home bench press has 40x40 mm and 50x50 mm iron box profiles. Maybe I will learn welding, but it is dangerous in close place, ı watched a video about it.

    • @turkerozturk6889

@@greyishdun You are welcome. Also you can convert it to OBJ file using MeshLab. Then import it to SweetHome3D as furniture, to understand how it will fit in your room. All are free software. I am using them on Ubuntu Lİnux. You can animate the incline part of of bench press also, in openSCAD. I really like openSCAD. The cheatsheet on their website is very good.

The exact size doesn't matter, make the thing the size you want it.are you big and want a wide bench or are you scrawny as fuck and prefer a narrow one?are you tall and want the bench a little taller so you can do rows without hitting the floor or do you powerlift and want it regulation hight?you can do what ever you like since your building it,that's the beauty of it.I would suggest doing a different locking system for the seat though

The Red corner block is a magnet which can hold it square. You can also get ones that holds at 45 or can adjust to assorted angles as needed. The tool he used after he tacked was just a square to see that it was a true 90.

Hey, I'm having this question from past 4 months. How did you make those slots for fitting the angle for the bench. Like how did you set that position for exact 30°/45°/60°. Or please let me know your email so that I can understand it in detail.

I made them roughly by looking at a bench bought at a store my friend has.The angle is approximately 60 degrees

Sure u can do that with wood but they wont be as strong and durable like metal. Making it out of wood is a lot easier
