Really. Like. The. Laughing clowns. Ed’s a genuine. Guenuios
A godfather of punk decides his first love is jazz ... and I am totally there for it ... always have been, since my first Laughing Clowns gig at 14 .
doubts over the punk moniker

The Laughing Clowns were spectacular they retained there solid sound, multi layered, complex always distinguishable from the rest, it was brilliant.
LC live were in a league of their very own, and the Cockatoo Is show after so long was a dream come true. Nothing beats Ed playing fast guitar, and Louise is still so cool. Thanks forever for this clip. 🖤🖤🖤
Brilliant .... love the 'free jazz' fusion vibe happening
Ed’s a. Genuine showman
How fabulous to see this recording! You were way ahead of your time then, and still awesome now. Thank you.
It's fantastic! They really do sound like the albums and totally deliver. Found out about Laughing Clowns through the fame of the saints and now I'm hooked on Ed Kuepper. Highly interesting and musical!
Absolute legend. I’ve probably seen him a couple of hundred times over 40 years especially when he was gigging all over Sydney late 80s early 90s. Also have seen him solo many times in past decade. The Clowns I saw in 81 with the Birthday Party. And at one of their final gigs in 84. This is the most recent incarnation. Jeffrey Wegener is one of the best drummers in the world IMHO. I consider myself to be very fortunate. Every show is different. He’s the perfect inventor. Hope you have the Aints! Church of Simultaneous Existence. It’s fantastic. He is also extremely funny.
@@swami19581thx yr very kind . I thought these shows were great but probably I could have done a bit better - now .
The best band from this rustbucket settler colony. If you know, you know. Also, thanks for uploading this. Was just looking at the date and thinking "this show wasn't on RUclips five years ago".
great
Sounds like my vinyls . She's kept them true .
Sensational
Ed’s got. Talent
Never got to see you play with them. Saw them in January of that year at Mt Buller along w Saints and Laughing Clowns. Bad Seeds sounded so much better with your guitar than when Warren played that Mandocaster thing.
The best man ever to come out of the city of Bremen.
WHAT DO YOU MEAN TELL ME PLEASE
he was born there
The second best man out of Bremen is Sven Regener (musician "Element of Crime" and writer). Third is Jan Böhmermann.
This is amazing; what an incredible opening - I can't believe I didn't go - sometimes life gets in the way. I saw The Saints play at the All Tomorrow Parties festival at Riverside, but this looks like the venue is GOMA, maybe a sideshow?
Puto amo😎👏🤘
Great drummer I didn't see , alas .
👋 thx I’m still playing & have done lots of work on the technical stuff for fun .
whats the 2nd song? 6.50 start anyone know?
Yeah, It is 'Come One, Come All', from the 'Mr. Uddich-Schmuddich Goes To Town', LP, '82. I love this song-performance
@@rik_6676 thanks so much
