I don't get the link between the lyrics and the murder camps. I can see two possible interpretations and both would be really problematic - to put it mildly. So I'm thinking there must be a third one that I'm just not seeing right now. Can anyone kindly enlighten me on this? ^_^'
When they sing about ''alas my love i say goodbye'' , alas means either Babylon or just an expression of negativity towards the world we live in (i freely interpretate it as Babylon) . To me, personally, this song describes the love/hate relationship with the so called ''things of the world''. When they show the pictures of the camps, to me it describes the very worst part of ''things of the world''. To me this song is very personal in it's meaning because i've been living in faith but also have fallen many times for the things the world had to offer, concentration camps for most people mean the closest thing to hell but let's not forget the people that enjoyed killing these innocent men, women and children. It shows the darkest part of humanity and ''the world''.
