It’s been 3 years but ima add my 3 cents, Korra is much less likable compared to Aang, the love triangle is horrid and useless, she dosent listen to the most likable character (Tenzin) which gets really annoying later
Cott’n Corp I would say Korra is less likeable in Book 1 because she was very brash. To be fair, Aang was also not really likeable in Book 1 of ATLA either. He was very annoying and I know he’s a kid but gah! I’m glad he grows though, as does Korra. Everyone knows the Love Triangle is horrid, not really adding anything there. Have you only watched Book 1? The amount of growth obtained between Korra and Tenzin’s relationship is amazing.
It isn't that they work closely with Nickelodeon and some of the guys who worked on the show, Michael Dante DeMartino is one of the creators. He's one of the two guys who pitched the show to Nickelodeon and wrote the entire series. He isn't the main writer of the comic but the writer works with him and consults with him about things. The original vision is very much present in the comics.
I couldn't stop smiling as you were describing the tv series ,as it is still sth I think constantly about and it inspires me in my writing )I'd love to hear what you think of the search ,as I was a bit iffy in the story
I am so torn between the library edition and paperback cover. While first one is obviously more durable, I really prefer the front cover and the size of the paperback cover. What would you personally advice?
I believe the hardcover bind up has all the original covers included. I think the commentary on the sides on the hardcover edition make it was better, so I personally suggest getting the hardcover bind up.
I know I'm a little bit late to this but do you really think that the book where all three comics are in one is the better version than the three seperate ones? I really want to read it but I kinda don't like that in the book it doesn't fill out the pages.
That’s all preference. I like having the notes by the authors and illustrators, but if it not filling the whole page will bother you, check out the individual comics.
I think I'm gonna buy the book. I'm just worried that it will be damaged like you said but. (but maybe this has to do with the US? I live in Austria after all.)
Hey Jay! I think they continue the series really well. I've only read the first two sets, but I've heard they continue to be quite good. It might be time for me to rewatch the show as well!
Do you maybe have a website which still sells The Promise and The Search library edition which ships to the Netherlands? I can't find any store anymore 😔 even Amazon doesn't
I've recently found out that these library editions have become incredibly hard to find. I have no idea why that's happening, but people are trying to sell them for insane prices. I got this when it was still at my local bookstore. If you have the isbn, you can try bookfinder . com which will look it up on a lot of sites all at once. I did a quick search and besides ebay, I haven't seen many copies of either. Shipping would probably be astronomical though. I recently found a copy of one of the more recent library editions on amazon . ca, which I ended up overpaying for, but I want to have a complete set. Dark Horse is notorious for discontinuing popular editions of series.
Zoltán Váczi Like is the font big enough? Yes! I think the size is the same as the regular issues. The reason the library collection is larger is to leave room for the extra notes from the authors that appear in the margins.
I want to buy that books too Which one ı need to buy first And if there any books that same with the serie can you write the names and their place please
Göksu Atalay The Promise is the first one you would want to get. The Search is the second set. The Rift is the third set. If you look up the Avatar comics on goodreads or google, they have the reading order for the series on there.
I watched the series for the first time when it hit Netflix last month. I loved it. I've been trying to find this very book the hardcover of The Promise, but it's out of stock EVERYWHERE! I wish I had got on this earlier.
First i wasn't sure if the premium Bimd-Ups are worth the money. If i buy the comic seperate i could get them cheaper. But DAMN this looks nice ans sleek an has so much input! Time to spare a lot of money to buy them...

I was wondering whether to get the individual ones or this Library edition, although the later seems to be the most obvious choice. Have they included the covers for the three parts inside the Library edition? If they did, I would definitely get that one but if not, Id have to debate with myself.
thanks for the review Connor. just heard about it and wanted to pick it up, and found your video :) there are 6 you said. 6 parts (like 1-3 here) or 6 collections of such three-in-one books?

Awesome! Since moving to NY in March, I've been going to Barnes & Noble to read the books. I only have one series to go (North and South). I do agree that if people are going to read the comics, they should see the cartoon. There are too many references and people won't really understand the depth of the meaning behind the situations/issues they encounter. So much background history that needs to be known. Please people...watch the series. So far I've loved the comics. The character development continues in the comics and the strory connects really well. When reading the comics, I could just hear their voices and imagine how it would be played out in the cartoon. Most of the characters are given time to shine and show growth, but of course they are still kids/teenagers so it's understandable that some actions would feel weird or out of character. Especially since there's a time jump between the end of the cartoon and the beginning of The Promise. oh, bit it gets better. I was totally immersed in the stories and felt happy to be able to read more about the gang. I've missed them. But of course, I also felt that it was too short. It left me wanting more. But I think I'll always feel like that since they are some things left unsaid even after The Legend of Korra finished. -sigh-
+Outspoken Artistry I'm pumped to continue on now that I know they're really good! I never finished The Legend of Korra lol I got bored for some reason.

The library edition is bigger than the separate ones???
I mean the comic part of it.
I don’t think the comic panels are any bigger in the library edition, but I don’t have the regular issues to compare

Wym it’s literally a show
Potheadbranden They meant they wish that the comics were adapted into animation form instead of it being a comic.
I have not read the comics yet, but I hope they don’t make it Into a show. It’s a great way to introduce people Into comics
