In resolution and clarity, that's without a doubt the best RUclips video I've ever seen. Great car by the way and even better was when I saw it run for real (not in a video).
Yeah, I know what you mean. It seems a lot less complicated getting a blower car down the track than a turbo car. And nitrous motors eat themselves up so badly at this end of the competition... It might be cheaper setting them up, but in the long run nitrous motors seem way more expensive to me. I see a lot of really quick blower cars coming out of Texas- I bet a lot of his chassis' end up doing well there
Turbo car is king of power management, blower just has raw power everywhere, turbo car counts on making big mph, blower can go like .850 60' so its a trade off, plus turbo cars arent hard on parts
I'm impressed as there was no lag (delay) in response time upon leaving on the green light. I say this as I've seen people run turbo charging & there is a delay at the green light before the car actually starts to move. Mind you though last time I was at Eastern creek was around 5 years ago.
I think Zap has now run a 5.53. The only year they beat Zap for the title, i watched them run in Perth. Crashed the car and so flew a brand new $100k chassis in overnight from the US to complete the round. That is how keen they were to beat zap and with a seemingly (bottomless pit) endless budget. Zaps monaro has morphed into what it is today, whereas the undoubted beautiful moits mustang is a full on ground up purpose built racecar and they still struggled to beat the undisputed king of doorslammers john zappia
at risk of sounding like a noob, why do these racing engines still use pushrods? i would think that dohc with cams directly on the valves would be better, especially at high rpms, but is it the added complexity, flow or the fact that their rebuild too often to matter the reason? thanks
For ththe most part, the push rod engines have a lot of support parts quickly available, tommy wenters went to o rieileys and bought new bearings during 2k17 and finished 8. Also they're tried and true with easy tunning, strong, Less parts and cheapish. The only thing that ohc is good for is vvt and that's it.
The belts for the cams stretches so much during a run,it throws the timing out and if I recall NHRA banned them at the request of Chrysler, because the Hemi couldn't compete with the Cammer Ford.
It's for downforce. They actually generate a useful amount of thrust from the exhaust (Newton's Third Law in action), so they point the exhaust in a certain direction to use that thrust. For example, they're using it here to help plant the nose of the car on launch.
Naw, that's a rossler Turbo 400, it shifts 1-2 so quickly so it can pull in 2nd and 3rd gear, you see the shifter move from 1-2 before the 60ft... Then moves again, next shift is from 2-3...
Sam Wood OK, that I did not know. In the U.S. the Pro-Mod and Top Sportsman classes cars can have any power adder. It’s more of the car’s style itself that denotes the class
Ur going by Class Racing in a certain place? Because that IS What A Doorslammer Is..I have a Blown Pro Mod But I tell people I have the fastest car with Doors Or A Door Slammer..I was watching Blown Cars in Australia bak in the early 90s & shud of put a Hemi in Bck then when I saw Them using Hemis, But they were illegal here(USA) in P/M..NOW Hemis are legal here but its expensive to change from Olds to Hemi..Anyway any car with Doors is a Door Slammer as compared to Funny Cars which is almost exactly what my car looks like BUT I explain to people the Body doenst come up the Doors Open, BUT If Ur gona going by A Class, Then you are correct abt Door Slammer Class in Australia..I dont go Turbo because Blowers w/a Big Carbon Hat just looks amazing! So Ill stay Blown lol....
top fuel drag car times of 30 years ago. engine tech is really comming along.
Proline stays running the game!! Lets goooo.
In resolution and clarity, that's without a doubt the best RUclips video I've ever seen. Great car by the way and even better was when I saw it run for real (not in a video).
Thanks for the positive message Phillip :) Yes it's certainly one of our fav cars, awesome build up close.
What a beautifully built machine! Some serious money been spent there-and look at the results!!! What a car.
Tim McAmis only builds the best
Oh really? It's a Tim McAmis built chassis! He builds some beautiful and highly functional stuff
its like the only turbo car I have seen from timmy, he does a ton of blower stuff, but thats just what people want is blower cars these days

Cool car thank you for your uploading the video
Weird at 2:37 i see they running goodyear tires on the right , when they reverse Left tire is Hoosier ? 2 different tires ?
probably just different takes edited together
Derek1978 we ran 2 different tires because the other one broke a rim
Awesome car
You can fit both fists side by side in each of the turbos! 🤯
beautiful car
500 more horses and that thing is ready to come over to the States and compete with our Pro Mods! 👍

The car goes straight as an arrow that is an awesome chassis just saying
Thought there were rules around body shape/year? This thing is way more slippery than Ye-olde doorslammers
Damn, how many geese have you pulled into those monster turbo air inlets??
i wonder whether they would convert this to run at hotrod drag week.
What class would this this run in either andra or 400 thunder as its not a doorslammer and we dont have a pro mod class that i know of.
Zappia is the king 5.61 in a proper door slammer
Agree, what amazes me is MMR are running 5.8's with a little 5.0L coyote. What's in this about 500+ cubes?
Mark Lowe yeah that shitbox runs a noonan hemi
Apollo and paul is he ran a 5.57

People probably already said it but the fuck off sticker on the back is correct
yep thats fast

your trying to solve a problem they dont have, simplicity and serviceability means they can rebuild in 90mins to 2hrs.
yarpos exactly

@@clivehoskin7254
Wouldn't and all Gear Drive solve that problem?
481X from proline racing is still one of the best motors to run
Looks like he burnt a piston on that last run (Right bank)... That's pretty quick though!
Charlie Atkins most likely turbo smoke
I thought he would run high fours or low fives but still good
No trans cover
Not needed. The trans is SFI certified.
One quick car, When they hit in the mid 5's. Yep .
The black one is cooler than the orange
faaarrrrkkkkkk. fast isnt even the right word.
there will be a turbo top fueller one day....
When they change the rules
I would like to know more about the engine. How many of these engines are out there in other door cars.
a ton. the 481X is a very popular motor
This 481X engine; is it something Pro Line developed entirely or is it based on a Ford, Chevy or Mopar engine.
www.yellowbullet.com/forum/showthread.php?t=595138
Thank you. I guess now I'm a little disappointed as I'm a Ford guy, but the Mustangs running those engines are awesome.
weak burnout not much smoke at all ?
silverss onyoutube burnouts aren't about the smoke....its about getting the tired sticky
*tires
Levan James it’s about warming up the tires not making them sticky
crazzzzy
Are turbos allowed in doorslammer?
No,you can only run"superchargers"
Only matters when you name's on the ANDRA record books...and that's ZAP's!!
Zap = GOD
Toby Mobilia yet paul beat him 2 seasons in a row
My step dad works for the moits
gee very Nice
_ -
O___o how does it go so fast geez
Did i just see daddy dave comstock @2:15 in this vid or was i hallucinating?
Tyler ThaGr8 no that’s vic from cv performance
That motor alone I bet cost more then many ppl's house does!
$67,000 you can have one too!
I made this for Les Kane
Why wouldn't they have the exhaust flush with the body? looks a bit rude lol, sick car though.
It's for downforce. They actually generate a useful amount of thrust from the exhaust (Newton's Third Law in action), so they point the exhaust in a certain direction to use that thrust. For example, they're using it here to help plant the nose of the car on launch.
I was looking somewhere that at full noise the exhausts pointed up add an extra 250kg+ of thrust weight to the front of the car.
Makes a lot of sense, cheers guys for the info :)
+Cryptopygia i just learned something new today , Thank you sir !
What happened when he crashed?? Is he okay??
orange crush yeah paul was fine just abit shaken up
alum body or carbon or fibre glass
Oscar Thorpe carbon
i would love to get a cop chase in that
would be a very short chase, either run out of fuel or straight road, forget trying to turn a corner in that thing
+Edward Ashbolt true
Fuel tank is just enough for one pass and to make it to the pits.
Wow, first time I've been this early haha
Aussies are like the bad-ass version of Brits.
you spelt Moist wrong 😂😍
This thing needs 2 Parachutes to slow it down lol.
Thats not a door slammer. Thats a pro mod.
is that FORD POWERED
no. the 481x shares more in common with the BBC/Hemi than anything else.
+PhoenixNFA wrong.. those engines have nothing in common with anything we have. Maybe some hemi involved but nothing more..
481 is more like an Ls then a ford.
@@charleskeller1245 truthfully true haha LS is defiantly off the Cleveland platform
429 kph!!!!!! :0
only 2 speed??
Naw, that's a rossler Turbo 400, it shifts 1-2 so quickly so it can pull in 2nd and 3rd gear, you see the shifter move from 1-2 before the 60ft...

👍
Go green...use that 4000hp to reverse and stretch the bungy cords real tight... silence then twang.... some where..
Some one said... missile coming
Car makes 4000++ hp at the wheels
Jae Parek 5000+ now
Ricky bossman no it makes 4500hp
it would still make 4000hp N/A
Bahahahahaha no it wouldn’t
John zappia is my uncle
Luca Galipo hes slow
take part to NHRA to see how fast you are.....
They can’t run in a class
Let's call it what is is. Pro mod
That's a easy way to spend around 250k on a race car.
He built the car with the best of everything. One word sums it all up (QUALITY)
How can they claim this when zappia has been faster than this on several occasions
Craig Hill zappia hasn’t run a 50 lmfao
Craig Hill and paul is still faster
Like #1000!
thats not a door slammer, bring back the bat mobile and the 55,57 chevy
does rather look like a blob on wheels, more like a funny car than a doorslammer
@@yarpos promod*
That’s fast but not a door slammer , it’s more like a pro mod
That’s what they call them in Australia. Doorslammer is the class.
Dustin Keltie not turbo cars! Our doorslammers are supercharged. This car is not legal for top doorslammer
Sam Wood OK, that I did not know. In the U.S. the Pro-Mod and Top Sportsman classes cars can have any power adder. It’s more of the car’s style itself that denotes the class
Yeah door slammers are supercharged only I'm 90% sure of it.

belkstar8585 that’s what a doorslammer is you muppet
Sorry
Mean.... made me remember.... going fast
.
Always going to be some one faster...then I rembered....120 horsepower isn't fast
Not even close to Ekanoo twin turbo Hemi lol.
AntiLag BoostAddiction it’s running doorslammer trim in australia you muppet
it ain't a doorslammer lmao
It sounds like farts
