The Belligerent is even better than it looks because the Future Sight effect isnt limited to one card. You could in theory peel off multiple spells from the top of your library after just one attack.
I feel like there was an unusually high amount of cool/flavorful card designs this set, I genuinely laughed at "each opponent loses 1000 life". Definitely more excited for this set than some previous ones lately. I also enjoyed your pirates of penzance joke on the belligerent
One thing really quick to note with regards to Cavern of Souls, because I feel this doesn't happen very often with limited "F"s, is that as of right now (and I doubt it will drastically be changing any time soon), it is over $30 dollars for the cheapest version. So while it might be an "F" for including in your deck, if you're drafting in paper, it gets an "A+" for being able to singlehandedly cover the cost of between 1-2 drafts.
A note on volatile fault is that in addition to the non basic lands that are lands, there are also a lot of cards that transform into lands and the fault is one of the few ways to deal with those.

35:33 small correction: the flag can tap to pay for its own craft ability, so the total amount of external mana reauired is 7. Also, i guess that most of the time ot will just ramp & fix, so by the time you could craft with 5 cards you'll end up with a ton of fresh new mana
4 permanents in the graveyard seems doable, but can be harder to achieve than you think. 8? That's a huge chunk of your deck...so not something I would count on too heavily unless your deck is super dedicated. It seems like a big barrier.
Agreed, but the format is well-equipped to hit the threshold when looking at UB and BG, for example. This format has a really high density of permanents, so just having 8 cards in the yard will often get Descend 8, and there's plenty of self-mill.

I wonder whether the Hidden land cycle will share the same fate as the common Spheres from ONE. They also seemed fine in the preview season, but then the format turned out to be very aggressive and synergistic, making them much worse. The Hidden lands seem very similar, though I admit, the Cave subtype does have a lot more support here than Spheres had in ONE.
tbh caves feel like an unintentional trap mechanic. The payoffs of most common and uncommon caves seem pretty small compared to the risk of getting manascrewed, especially since oftentimes, you are rewarded for playing multiple caves. If the format is reasonably fast and you can´t afford to stumble, most caves are probably unplayable
I watch these every limited season I play and recommend you to others looking to better themselves in draft - so thank you. I was wondering if you would consider grouping the cards by rarity before alphabetically, as I feel doing so will help viewers get a more contextualized understanding of your ratings while watching

I think that we should remember that descent only counts permanent cards, so sacrificing tokens won't advance this gameplan. With the fact that Zoyova allows opponents to sacrifice excess land permanents in the late game, I think it is safe to assume that it is even worse than a B- in my opinion.
Throne of the grim captain is most likely to be able to get its types with Green(Merfolk/Dino)/Black(Pirate/Vamp) or White(Dino/Vamp)/Blue(Pirate/Merfolk)
Probably GB because of the Descend mechanic alongside the Mill effect. I mean, you need to have a deck with at least two or more cards with the correct creature types to make It work "effectively". I only hope that somebody on a draft or sealed wins a game with this card or the Calendar
I think Buried Treasue will be very useful in decks where you want to descend since it basically is 1 mana to descend And decks that care about permanents in the grave, this also fuels them for 1 mana
Even with the cave and descend upside I still feel like Promising Vein is a card you basically never ever want unless you are super desperate to splash an off color bomb.
The Gishath reprint is so strange. The only thing I can think of is they made a different one but late in development it proved to cause some issue so they just figured they'd reprint the og.
Gishath's a popular Commander that's gotten pretty pricy due to only having the one printing. The reprint will definitely help sell some packs so I think it was intentional.

Descend 8 just means the card gets better when you have 8 permanents in the graveyard. Not necessarily that the text is locked behind having 8 permanents in the graveyard, even though a lot of them work like that.
The best way to understand it, I think, is to realize that Descend is a thematic mechanic, not a homogenous one. That is, Descend essentially indicates "this card cares about permanents in the graveyard" but you have to read the card to see how. Which is different from mechanics like Prowess, which works in a very specific way whenever you see it.
The Ancient One is just a bad mythic. If it was a 5/5 for two mana with Descend 4 it would be OK, because by turn 4/5 it would be attacking or blockibng effectively in a UB or BGU deck. But Descend 8 needs a deck that only wants to mill itself, and UB is not usually a pair that wants a lot of permannents because their creatures are weaker compare to other colours
I really don't understand your The Ancient One rating - because it seems so predicated on the idea that you spent 6 mana on it. Descend 8, especially in blue-black, isn't consistently doable on turn 2; but it is consistently doable within a game, I don't see aggro decks getting under Descend 8 in this format, and an 8/8 remains relevant all game long. And then it's also an 8/8 that can be an even later game card selection as a upside, but it doesn't ever have to cost 6 mana, that last part is just upside.
getting 8 permanents into your graveyard takes way more time than you might think. It's very plausible that it NEVER gets activated in most games. It will not be "consistently doable" within a game, because the game will be over before it ever gets there.

On compass gnome I feel that the presence of explore in the set will make it a bit better than similar cards from previous sets.
