Billy is fantastic! I’ve seen him in concert approximately 20 times. Most recently a few months ago. He’s amazing! This song has a double meaning. It’s about a relationship with a woman, as well as his fans and music. He hits on this a bit on the interview he did with Howard Stern on 2/14/24. I don’t feel he’s grumpy at all. I do think that he gets asked a lot of the same stupid questions, and I can understand that he would be a bit annoyed, however, I’ve been in the security industry a very long time and have dealt with many celebrities and although, I have not had the pleasure of doing security for Billy, I know people that have and they have all said he’s great, and very down to earth.
The world is a better place now he’s back with new stuff. Thanks for watching. 🎹🎶
the first time i was able to see billy joel live, i also took my twenty plus daughter along. she was jazzed when she saw the harmonica and turned and hugged me saying.... "i cannot believe i am actually seeing and hearing piano man by the man who wrote it. any who, when he did shameless, he said.... 'i wrote this next song decades ago and ya'll hated it". "i gave it to my friend garth brooks and ya'll sent him to #1". "i'm gonna do it now anyway!' humble this man is!

What a great idea for a video and I love the Hubby & Wife collab! I didn't know Billy Joel had released a new song but you can tell it's written by him straight away with those gorgeous chord progressions. And his voice still sounds fantastic. I haven't listened to his music for a while and you've reminded me how wonderful he is.

As a huge fan of Billy Joel for decades, I’ve seen practically all his interviews, read articles about him and read his biography. He never gave me the impression that he was grumpy. Maybe sad, depressed, disappointed or angry.
Nice reaction. I do disagree about your analogy regarding the song shameless compared to this song. Shameless was written by Billy 100%, so his emotions are authentic. Regarding this song, this was written with other writers, so I don’t feel the authenticity as you do about the emotions. I would say it’s the other way around. That’s just my opinion, of course, just like yours.
I am glad you enjoyed the video. I prefer Billy’s version of Shameless hands down but my wife doesn’t agree. As for him being grumpy. I think yes he has his grumpy moments like anyone. Just our take and like I said in the video I think he’s got his spark back now. Long may it continue.
They used brand new deepfake technology to make Billy look younger again. Yes a double is used, then the deepfake of Billy is placed over him. So everytime you see him on the piano, its completely artificial intelligence, not real at all, apart from the older Billy, and the clip montage at the end.
I disagree with the Garth Brooks thing. I’ll always like Billy’sbetter . I hope you know Billie wrote that song.
