- Paleoart commission process for my latest piece of paleoart, a speculative ontogeny and sexual dimorphism study in preparation for a larger Lower Shaximiao Formation illustration. All done in Procreate so you get to see the full process. I'm not sure if there is much paleoart out there for this underrated Middle Jurassic temnospondyl.

Also, yeah I am the commissioner for those wondering. It was a continuation of the previous work with Gasosaurus and company enjoying a suropod snack. Specifically, while we where researching the locality I noticed there was a Temnospondyl there...and low and behold Sinobrachyops gets its first artwork.
As for the IRL animal: Sadly very little is known outside of inferences from animals its related to. More tragic, is that due to poor preservation the animal's fossils are really fragile and damaged thus it seems heavily necessary to mention. Indeed, it even mentions that the poor animal got picked-in-the-brain during prep meaning we are lucky we know the animal existed at all.
