The shoe thing is very real. My Taekwondo master had small flip flops that I did only see 3 times but he would take these small flip flops chuck them at us. He only did it three times in good fun though. I mean in America you can’t really throw crap at children though so that is why it never really happened much. Btw the flip flops were like dollar store only foam. Nothing was a hard material.
Here in south korea physical discipline is no longer legal, but i remember teachers usung all sorts of stuff back when it was still a thing.
