Great video. Especially making sure all joints are clean and when and how to use tape and compound. Others I have watched don’t cover this and we are all scared stiff of leaks! Good advice on the bleeding process too.

Thanks Mark. I took a rad off ages ago (with the advice of a plumber I know) to redecorate. Time to put it back and I thought: 'Better see what's involved.' Thanks for the tips and advice in your vid.

Lol brilliant video thanks so much I actually used to be a plumber and had a very bad accident head injury which caused me to stop being able to work completely also causing problems with my memory I know most jobs fitted bathroom and radiators but I actually did replace the radiators and then watched the video as I was just concerned if I'd missed anything and thanks to this video I've still got the touch lol so far so good anyway I didn't miss anything out or in the wrong order I should have known it was good as I turned on the heating and they all were good working order so thank you so much again and a brilliant channel really helped me out definitely subscribed to the channel very handy to watch in the future 😊😊😊👍👍👍

Thorough explanation covering everything I needed to do and importantly what I didn't need to do eg taping the joint when the jointing compound was already being used. Some channels like to add jokes and quick edits to condense their videos down probably thinking viewers will get bored watching anything longer than a few minutes. Personally I prefer a well paced thorough visual demonstration backed up with verbal reasoning,v whether that requires a long or short video. This video does the job without fuss. Thank you very much.

Thank you. Using your instructions I finally had the confidence to reconnect a radiator which has been disconnected for some time. So far so good. No leaks, it is hot and rest of radiators still working.

Thanks, I've taken off and refitted many radiators over the years as a DIYer and never used jointing compound or PTFE but I do make sure the surfaces are clean. I moved house a year ago and, for the first time, have a pressurised system so I will have to make sure I know how to repressurise it, but not daunted, will just careful.

I have my pipes coming from behind the skirting board and buried in the wall and there is very little movement to move the radiator or there may be a risk of damaging the plaster where the pipes coming from the wall. What is the best way to avoid damaging the plaster behind the pipe. Pipe is buried in the wall about 8-9 inches behind the skirting board and then comes out of the wall and connected with a 90 degree elbow.
If it was coming from a wooden floor you don’t have a problem, as you can move it.

Great video but have to say I totally disagree with your use of jointing compound. As a plumber I hate having to remove lockshield valves covered in jointing compound, it makes them harder to loosen and much harder to clean the thread. With ptfe all what is needed to clean the thread is a knife. People need to be aware jointing compound dries rock solid. Otherwise great video. Sorry to be critical.
