    I really enjoy importing plants. The process is quite satisfying. I think the best suggestion for someone wanting to import for the first time is to only bring in 1 or 2 plants to keep it manageable.
    You shared some great info and I'm looking forward to see updates on your plants 😊

    • @planthappens
      @planthappens  Год назад

      That's true, it's important to only import what you can handle. Having just 1 or 2 would be helpful to learn the process 🌿

      I was quite tired after the filming because I had a lot of technical difficulties 😭 I hope it wasn't too hard to watch! Importing is a lot of work so I definitely suggest buying from local store/collector if they're available.

    Try wrapping a warm cloth around the unfurling leaf. Right before it unfurls. I’ve seen that work for three people.

    I ordered from Ecuagenera earlier this year…my first imports ever.
    A few weeks back…I ordered from tropicals…and those should come soon. I’m trying to get ready.

    Thanks for the information on tree fern/perlite. I bought in my first import about a week ago. I had them in water for about 5 days then moved most of them to PON. I hope it works!
    Do you ship plants to the US? I adore your Hoya Joy Splash. I can’t seem to find one with such nice variegation locally.

      My friends have amazing results with acclimating plants in pon! Hoe it goes well for you too. Unfortunately I don't ship to US because it takes a lot of time to get Phytosanitary and I work full time...

    Thanks for some great information.. I am most likely never doing any imports.. Makes me nervous..I just buy from local nurseries. I tried ordering some poles and a hoya from your province but shipping was 3x more then cost of product and its not only because its across Canada. Shipping in my province can be pricey too.

    • @planthappens

      Thank you for your comment! Imports can be a lot of work and especially now a lot of plants are very affordable so not worth the risk sometimes. But it is still rewarding to see the new growth on the imports! Shipping in Canada is so expensive... especially if you live somewhere remote 🥺

      I'm not so sure about the ID but it was sold as cf. wendlingeri. It was live sale so I did pick the exact plant. Hopefully the ID will be updated!
