- Sue Delaney did a number of shifts on KGB in the 80's, mornings by herself, mornings with Jeff Prescott and here, in 1992, afternoons. Full video available on California Aircheck Video #43 californiaairch...
OMG, this is priceless to me! THANK YOU SO MUCH for this post, it is so great to see my little sister doing what she loved so much. I will share it to my timeline. I have looked for Sue's shows online but only found 1 show on u tube, this one escaped me til now. Thank you again.
+chris delany This is awesome to see and hear. I have tears in my eyes Chris. Your sister had her own special way.
Hey Chris - sorry to read about your sister's loss - during my Navy 80's here in San Diego, she was everyone's favorite. I do have other video I picked up (from CaliforniaAircheck) showing Sue (and other popular KGB DJ's) if you're interested. Kris
chris delany God bless you and your family. I tuned to 136KGB AM. Then they went FM, I’m following Rock & Roll!
Is it out of place to ask what happened to her and when did she take the doing job in the heavens above? She was so great, I hated to read that comment to see she's no longer with us here, sorry for your loss.
@@ekts1957 I would be very grateful for any clips you have sir! Thank you for the kind offer.
Rockin' Sue Delaney!
I was 19 years old and a noob to San Diego in 1988. Loved her voice! This is the first time in more than 30 years, that I have actually put a face to the name. Thank you so much for this. I have her voice on tape, and I hope to figure out how to add it to the song she tied into.
I am so sad to just find out Sue is rocking in Heaven. She was my crush in my High School years. Beautiful lady and incredible voice 😢
I worked very briefly at KGB-FM in the early 1990s and met Sue. I remember her being very down to earth and genuinely a nice person. She was really a rock goddess with a lot of class.
I was there too in the early 90's!
Sue's voice was such a part of my childhood, her voice will always have a special place in my heart. RIP Babe!
Have so missed listening to Sue. She rocked KGB and I've missed her. Sorry to hear she's passed. Grateful for this video, warms the heart to hear her generous and full voice again. RIP Sue and hugs to those left behind!
Wow! Shocked. I remember Jeff Prescott would always play a "sound bite" of Sue saying "HI IT"S SUE". Anybody else remember that? RIP Sue Delaney. San Diego rock in roll of the 80's and 90's.
Yes I do.
RIP Sue, I was in love with you! Thanks for the memories.
RIP Sue! Hearing her voice right now takes me back to my childhood.
Thankful to be able to hear her voice again. Goodbye Sue.
She was the voice of my life's soundtrack from the mid to late 80s....while I was stationed in San Diego.... Rest In Peace dear lady
Rest in Peace Sue.
Ron F. KGB staffer from 1987-2009
The perfect Rock n roll dj voice. Love the old school board.
Rest in Paradise Sue Delany thank you for all the laughs you brought Hunter I'll look after him.
I'm gonna miss you Sue Bee. I can't believe you've gone and left us behind.
Wow what a very talented lady and so sorry to hear she’s since passed away..
She was sure rocking that Autogram console which is no doubt also since long gone geesh ..
When the station moved c. 1996 into the Jacor facility on Kearny Villa Road, the studio was dismantled and moved into storage. A few months later the furniture and console were delivered to stations Idaho. I know, I took it there.
@@tarf1a yep Jaycor and Saga were both very busy buying up broadcast real-estate in our market back in 1996. Voice tracking was then king and mediocrity has since been the flavor of the airwaves! Sure do miss that live and local feel. That’s what you get from this video. 👍👍
RIP. KGB Rocks San Diego
Kels Mermaid. In more ways then one.
RIP Sue Delany. And RIP KGB FM. The worst Rock station in America. With a
PUNY 300 song playlist.
In L.A., there was a salvage yard nearby that would take in cars for charity. Being a big car guy, I used to inspect all of their newest acquisitions. One day, there was a big black Cadillac, with real California license plates "KGB KAR" true story!
Damn, she was as beautiful as her sultry voice espoused. I used to love listening to her back in the late 80's. What happened?
Dat VOICE!
I worked at KGB the last year they had that control board. This was in Engineer road in Kearney mesa. Thru the window, we faced the K-POP am studios. I remember being shocked that a major market station was still using the old rotary pots. They even still played Ozzy Crazy train off of a LP record!! Brown Broadcasting were some cheap bastards. They sold the station to Clear Channel who switched out the board for a new one with slider pots. I remember Sue Delaney coming back to work weekends. At first she was confused by the sliders. Preferring the rotary pots, because you could slam them down with a flick of the wrist.
I was there long enough, to watch it go from this, to all digital automated Prophet system. Sad.
RIP Sue!
R.i.p. ..
Love how she sounds it BUT LOOKS THE PART TOO,ROCK ON
A ROTARY BOARD IN 1992? wow...most stations had beautiful big slide pot boards by 86-88
It was an Autogram IC-10 and was built like a tank. Rarely had to work on it and the main complaint: "The light bulb is burned out on the VU meters!"
Oh dear God, has she passed? Why has everyone left this Earth?
9 o,clock, this is Sue Delaney throwing out some Led Zeppelin......106 KKDJ Fresno, enjoy
RIP!
Sounds like she has a bit of a sore throat.
let's hear it for ROTARY FADERS
The board is an Autogram IC-10. It was a real workhorse and rarely had issues. It had shotcomings but for the setup we had then it workedout very well.
cause of death?
Nothing published about her death was very specific - multiple health problems, long-time illness..
Surpirsed they are still on the air. Same worn out songs
