Hello Mark hello from Ireland im a broadcaster in Ireland i use Spreaker and send podcasts to Iheart radio for our podcast from our community radio fm feed
We enjoyed the tour.. would love to see you on air soundcheck during your regular show programming.. remember ..Act natural...☺️ Nice work Mark W. Thanks..
Thank you Carlos! With as few people as you saw in the hallways just know that there are half as many now as another massive round of layoffs has occurred during a pandemic. It is a beautiful facility and I’m glad I’ve got this on record before the real estate landscape changes in radio again.
@@MarkWallengren Yes, it definitely is an amazing that you were able to capture something like this. I've always wanted to be on the radio as a Mix show DJ. I was able to get my Mix shows on the radio for about 6 - 8 months on one of the local stations but wasn't able to land it as a permanent position. So I've been researching a lot on how I can be able to have my own station and do whatever I please and be able to offer those that have a strong passion & desire to try something out like this without having to constantly be turned down like myself. And be able to offer it to everyone, (within reason of course).
@@MarkWallengren I am appalled that iHeart replaced many people from work, as though lots of listeners refrained from listening to the radio. Yet, radio, even FM radio was supposed to be the lasting media.
Hello to you from New York on the East Coast. When is National Radio Day? Your radio stations look nice, even though your camera shots were rapid. I type to you as an audiophile, because I appreciate [high-quality] sound equipment.
Shot late in the day. After most had left. Since this and after more cutbacks/remote working the halls are empty and a lot of office space has been vacated.
I heart radio killed the radio star. So many small fun radio stations died from all this clean corp. take over. I was in it when it was fun late 80 to the late 90's.
Nice to see you haven't changed a whole lot in 30 years, Mark. Ya must be livin' right. I guess KOST is now owned by iFartRadio. Another license gobbled up by the behemoth.
Hi Shane! It’s a board made by Harris around 2000. The promises they made about the technology never worked out (mostly the switcher system that would allow talent to customize your board and then be able to go to any other studio, dial in your account and the board would be set up the way you liked on any Harris board in the facility). Turned out no matter what Harris did it failed. They finally gave up and the company wasted a lot of money. 😢
I need to work in a studio like this after I finish my major in broadcasting production I might work on 105.3 or Foxy 99.1 & or 102.1 Jamz I'll be on WDCC90.5FM for Radio & Television I'll be on 4CNC I'm doing 1yr radio 1yr television.
Quelle Horreur! What happened to 'Radio'? Nobody's listening. There's no radio playing anywhere. What happened to Rock 'n Roll? Where are the drunk people running around naked? I expect a sterile operation room, behind each door that opens.
Actually that room is pretty secure and there’s never an engineer around when you need one. Do to downsizing there aren’t as many around. We’ve got a cluster of eight radio stations and 10 transmitter sites. What remains of an engineering staff are over worked beyond belief. If I ever step foot inside that building ever again I’ll make sure to grab some video of the empty halls and automated audio equipment and processing gear!
Disgusting to see how Clear Channel stole our SM Copyright and took our station moniker "MY" and didn't buy the rights to it. I'm sure this comment will be deleted. Nice station tour of the studios though.
First, this is not a Clear Channel RUclips channel. Your comment will remain 😊. Secondly, radio itself is no longer any kind of creative groundbreaking space. It doesn’t surprise me that their idea for the “MY” Hot A/C format would be borrowed or at the least inspired by something else. When Clear Channel changed their name to iHeart, that was also lifted (hello iPod?). Not sure if you or Apple would have had legal recourse, but it just shows that they are not that creative of a company.

Nice studios. We saw lots of Wheatstone by Audioarts soundboards in there.. Nice work.
Those consoles add inviting presence to the control rooms. I wish we could have seen the broadcast transmitter components in the engineering room.

Simply WOW!!!
Ah yes, the corporation that's the Walmart of the broadcast industry. Taking over small stations off the air.
Yes and they all sound the same! Really pathetic.
All those studios, and the place looks mostly deserted. Are the stations automated?

Big Setup! Nice
As a veteran of old time rock and roll stations. This is totally depressing. Sterile corporate bullshit!!
Yup, corporate take over of small independent stations is the way now.
I don’t see Mike Landau on the big screen buddy😂
What’s the playout/automation system being used in KOST studio?
NexGen
Well thanks for info sounds like radio Business in general is all going to hell in a handbasket
Using RCS Nexgen
what software is used to play the music

How could The FCC allow this monopoly to happen?
